Listening to your comments during the lead up to the main event, I have to smile at the "Who knows there might be a bigger mate hiding at the side" little did you realise what was to come! Chasing a full gram! Indeed!... And your plans of what you might do with your previous collections of gold. Then your world changed! It's got to be a 3 ouncer! You were close, you just needed to add a zero on the end of it! I think this is my fourth viewing of this hunt, and each time, my heart starts to race, when you say "Oh! My God Oh! My God"... What an incredible experience! Im glad Andrew was there with you, and I keep wondering whether his 5000 would have picked it up. I imagine it would have! Now get back there with a dozer and take off a couple of feet of soil all around the area and find the rest of its relatives!... I know im a couple of weeks late with a comment , kept forgetting to top up my credit on my phone! Well done. If you don't already have one, think about getting an ultrasonic cleaner. They are usually for jewellery, but your nugget would fit in a regular domestic model. The ultrasound vibrations dislodge tiny particles of dirt, and you'll likely end up with a 'clean' nugget with little holes where the quartz, clay and dirt used to be. Any little particles of gold that aren't attached and come off end up in the bottom of the cleaner, not in your sink s-bend. Once again, well done.
This is the first video of yours I have seen! I am so, so overjoyed for yourself & your family!! What an amazing find. Be sure to take your pal Andrew on a camping+prospecting trip in your new Landrover!!!!!

Funny hearing you mention the Welcome Stranger, believe it or not i'm actually the great great nephew of the guy that found it haha. John Deason was my great great uncle who went to Australia in search for gold, but almost all of the Deasons still live here in Cornwall, UK to this day. There's a statue dedicated to him and John Oates finding it at the Cornish Gold center just 10 minutes away from me that can be found on google images. Unfortunately he didn't make the smartest decisions with his money and we certainly haven't noticed any "generational wealth" passed down 😂

What a great find and congradulations! If you do not plan to keep it (or haven't already sold it), I am certain that piece will fetch you much more if you sell to a high end to a collector vs. selling it at spot to a jeweler/refiner. Although it is rounded and has no distinct crystalline features that I can tell, the gold veins running through the native rock make it a beautiful piece. Additonally the fact it was documented on its finding (chelybinsk meteorites sell at a premium because of this) and has a great story behind it will all add value to a collector. Either way congratulations!
Now THAT just made my Sattidy night 😮 What an absolute beauty. There's gonna be a whole lotta people out in their sheds dusting off their minelabs right now and planning to call sick on Monday.

It’s crazy how many nuggets there are still to be found and so few people finding nuggets like this. Like just imagine how many gold boulders are still under Antarctica’s ice, videos like this keep people hunting for the biggins left just in our backyard ❤ much love and congrats on the gold nugget that’s worthy of being in a museum
Alaska has TONS of gold literally everywhere, the problem is the freezing conditions prevents most people from actually trying to find any gold up there. Lots of videos exist of people finding multiple grams of gold all the time there.
I can’t wait to watch this, but at the same time, I know this will make me more than a little jealous, having never found gold myself let alone a life changing nugget. You deserve it Luke after all the hours you have put in to detecting and all you have done to promote the hobby.

I’d 100% like to take you up on that offer. I’m up in NSW so a bit of a drive for me but I hope to make it happen. My other problem is I’m only running the Nox 900 so I might need a more gold specific detector to make it worthwhile. Anyway I would love to take you up on the offer when I can.
Finding a nugget this large so close to the surface is yet more proof that there's still plenty of gold out there to be found. You just have to understand geology to know what to look for and some simple physics such as eddy currents to know where to find the source behind that trail of golden breadcrumbs. You may even find gold that once flowed through the veins of a dragon or a human tens of thousands of years ago when life was much larger than it is today. Right now the amount of gold in your blood is an insignificant speck of dust in the grand scheme of the past and present times but some day in the far future it will be much more useful to humans, who likely will be descendants of your own bloodline in one way or another, due to quantum scaling. All existing life is sustained by previous life, every rock, metal and gemstone was once a living being and through science we are able to give it new life. The old saying "dumb as a bag of rocks" didn't stand the test of time because the very device you viewed this video on couldn't function without rocks. It would be nothing more than an electrical circuit which powers a series of LED bulbs.
I am shaking my head trying to make sense of what this planet does. Australia has gold just lying on the ground. In the US, in the right location, if you spend days and days, blasting holes, using hammers, power tools, shake tables….congratulations to those who find it
.. Australia is the oldest continent on the earth, hence hundreds of metres of topsoil has eroded away, leaving bedrock close to the surface, in many parts of the country.
Congrats on the find. I do find it very interesting the immediate behavioral changes in people when they are that close to something that valuable. It’s almost an eerie “haha yah we’re friends, but don’t touch my gold.” Or “ah great wow, let me just hold it” Imagine how it was back in the day. Ppl would have probably been shot on the spot during things like this.

And now I can say, "I know a bloke who found a 30 OZ nugget" From one minute to the next, you just dont know whats around the corner! And that was some corner!!!! Cheers Luke, Absolute Magic!
5000 in sharp would hit it even with the log still in place and on my old SD2200d it would of screamed.
@@beergoldI have a sd2200d..I agree
Well, you certainly pulled out "a 3 grammer or more" 🤣🤣
Congratulations Luke, a just reward for all those years of persevering with the channel and promoting detecting, for going into battle for the rights of detectorists, against over zealous bureaucrats and just for being an amazingly good guy who loves his family more than anything else.
I'd say treacherous and treasonous instead over over zealous
“What a effen clump, mate!”
Such a good line, such a good find! Bravo gentlemen 👍🍻💚

Well done, young prospector! I hope you and your family enjoy the fruit of all of your labors.

Thank you so much @pricklyprospector1208 what a massive turn around it has been from the start of this year. It all goes to show too, hard work and commitment wins out at the end of the day🙂 Cheers heaps again mate, I'll be looking for the next now😉🤝⛏️
@@DigItDetecting keep going back in that same area because there’s gonna be more in that area
@@godschild3640fully agree he needs to dig this area out the best he can it’s gonna be loaded and they’re gonna be deep.
I would call it a rock not a nugget. The gold rock is definitely what people dream of and what motivates the adventure and search for gold.
Word
Once again, well done.
probably best to keep the quartz on it
hey do you wanna tip on how to lower your winnings?
Hopefully, you can sell it as a gold specimen. What a wonderful find. Congrats!!!
This is the first video of yours I have seen! I am so, so overjoyed for yourself & your family!! What an amazing find. Be sure to take your pal Andrew on a camping+prospecting trip in your new Landrover!!!!!
Well done mate! Easily the best production/ post reaction/ cleanup/ reveal I've ever seen! Thank you for documenting this beautiful moment so perfectly and authentically! Made my day over here in Pittsburgh, PA.
Unfortunately he didn't make the smartest decisions with his money and we certainly haven't noticed any "generational wealth" passed down 😂
That’s amazing!! Luke loves the story of the welcome stranger.
ahh tom, i loved reading that mate.. good on ya pal.

@davehedgehog9795 you think he planted the nugget?

Why does it look like the hole was predug and the nugget planted in the hole? 🤔
@@tyarnold4088 of course he did... i dont know why people haven't learned how fake youtube is now...

First detecting vid i've seen, hearing the excitement in your voice made me happy :)
Also always good to hear a couple of happy Aussies! congrats to you and your mate :)
Seeing your hands shake while you pulled that beast from the ground was an incredible sight! Happy for you man! What an expierience 🎉
You seem like a good dad. Congratulations from the "Golden State" of California!
Now THAT just made my Sattidy night 😮
What an absolute beauty. There's gonna be a whole lotta people out in their sheds dusting off their minelabs right now and planning to call sick on Monday.
This is EXACTLY why I hate videos like these. Yeah cool, great for the guy who found it, but not for the poor buggers who havnt found much and then have more idiots coming out into the bush.... watch what you say mate
Congratulations. The feeling finding it must've been amazing. Share and spend your part wisely.
What an awesome moment you shared. Thank you! Helena gets more than a ring I suppose.
Thankyou so much @RickHooper-u6q this day has been a lot of years and lots of holes in the making but I wouldn't have changed it all for the world mate. I have enjoyed every moment of the 7 years detecting and sharing my adventures. This one to come tonight especially😁
Thanks so much again for your support Rick, let me know when you want to go chase your first piece of gold to mate. I'd be more than happy to help👍👍⛏️
Every time I watch any video from Australia I get super jealous. One day I'll get down there, even if it's not soon
@DigItDetecting oh of course you'd be happy now... of course... WOW
I am shaking my head trying to make sense of what this planet does. Australia has gold just lying on the ground. In the US, in the right location, if you spend days and days, blasting holes, using hammers, power tools, shake tables….congratulations to those who find it
.. Australia is the oldest continent on the earth, hence hundreds of metres of topsoil has eroded away, leaving bedrock close to the surface, in many parts of the country.
thats why the british colony go there, because of the gold
Georgia has clay in abundance
Also where the worlds largest gold nuggest comes from.
@@coldogno7 Yeah, not so much. The British were trying to get rid of the riff-raff. Little did they know, they were getting rid of the best of them.
Congrats on the find.
I do find it very interesting the immediate behavioral changes in people when they are that close to something that valuable. It’s almost an eerie “haha yah we’re friends, but don’t touch my gold.” Or “ah great wow, let me just hold it”
Imagine how it was back in the day. Ppl would have probably been shot on the spot during things like this.

when you find random bags of money anywhere, always take it. Never report it, and just use it to buy groceries and stuff once in a while, don't make any big purchases either so you don't get the IRS's attention.
