How is it that someone can use metal detectors and find gold in the dirt when other so called experts claim you have to get down to bedrock to where gold supposedly settles? Also some people claim to find gold on beaches? Shouldn’t gold that’s on a beach in sand sink? Am I missing something?

Scoops are basically useless. Grabbing the dirt by hand is faster; once checked, dirt is then discarded. By putting dribs and drabs into your other hand from the scoop AND THEN NOT RECHECKING! It you are probably losing gold. Great find!

I'd be panning the dirt you just scrubbed off...just in case.
