    I've seen quite a few shops just slap the whole sheet on the inner and outer skins of the door. It's a way of them using more material to screw up the customer. I bought the bulk packs and did the deadening myself. Since I have didn't have an issue with added weight, I did the A,B,C pillars, inner and outer skins of all 4 doors and trunk, the complete trunk area and all the plastic trims, door cards etc including most of the parts of the dash too. But it was the best $$$ I've spent on a car that most people are confused about when they sit in. The front doors in particular weight the same as an armored SUV lol
    Keep it up

    Always the best DIY tutorials. Quick question I know you mentioned something similar in part 1 but do you know if I’d be score to run the front woofers with the original amp? Cheers also thought that I would let you know I hit the notification bell but didn’t get a notification for this from RUclips!

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  3 года назад +1

      Thanks mate! Annoying about the notification… you got YT notifications turned on for your phone?
      You can upgrade the woofers with the standard amp but the EQ coming from the OEM head unit seems to be tuned to get the best out of the (pretty poor) stock speakers. It may sound weird if you use aftermarket woofers without a signal processor.

    • @tobywhite330
      @tobywhite330 3 года назад

      @@JBCTR yes I have the yt notifications turned on, I think it’s just RUclips being RUclips tbh. 😂 Oh that makes sense so it’s best the change the amp to get the best out of the new speakers. Although I’m deaf in my right ear so would you think it’s a justifiable spend? Cheers for the reply btw :)

    If you do decide to build some A-pillar pods, then add a set of AV 3.0 mids and run the front end 3-way. Having more of the midrange up higher on the dash and away from the doors will help the sound stage no end.

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  2 года назад

      I had thought of this, but that's a lot of speakers on the A pillar in a small car... I wonder if it would look a bit odd!

    Looks like a great job. Was thinking of same amp for b&o fst, as I've already upgraded all the speakers.
    How do you find the sound with the engine running? Did you tune it with engine running?
    I find my car sound really good with engine off, but the engine notes/ bass ruin the audio sound.

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! Yup, same with most car audio unfortunately. I tuned it with the car running, but obviously not moving. You do lose a bit of the bass when it’s on the move. I may consider a sub for that reason.

    Excellent video Johnny!
    I just have one tiny question which could aid others looking to fit a slightly better front door speaker without going into the complexities of making spacers, or stripping the back out. Do you know the depth and diameter of the lightweight speaker you removed? I just like the idea of adding a bit of sound deadening and a slightly better grade door speaker.
    Much appreciated.

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  2 года назад +1

      I don't know the exact dimensions but you'll need to make adapters for any aftermarket speaker as I'm not aware of any direct fitment products. You could perhaps use the JBL speakers from the convenience pack but that would require some wiring changes.
      Also worth noting that the stock system is tuned to make the most of the (pretty poor) stock speakers. If you upgrade them without changing the EQ, it may sound a little odd!
      That said, simply adding the deadening with the stock speakers is still likely to make a noticeable difference on its own.

    I was about to say the non Forza amp would have been fine, they you said you fitted the Voce's in the front. Are you bridging any channels on the amp or have you left a couple free to add a sub later?

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  2 года назад

      The front woofers are bridged. The forza has pre-outs for a sub. So I’ll probably run that and a separate amp for a sub… if I go for it. It is tempting 🤣

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  2 года назад +1

      To be honest, the removal of the sound cancelling was quite noticeable when I simply removed the module and went for a drive. Quite hard to compare directly as it took a little while to install all the dampening but I’d say it’s nearly as good now, but not quite. However I do now have super loud speakers to drown it out and also the exhaust. I like the new set up much more than with the sound cancelling.

    Great job! I would have liked to see you try the DSP and deadening with the stock speakers first, then upgrade the speakers and see which part made the most difference

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! I couldn’t really do that as the DSP is hooked up to the new speakers by new wiring so it was kinda and all or nothing situation! There wasn’t the option of running the DSP through the stock speakers without splicing wires.

      @@JBCTR true, I understand. I think I'm going to permanently delete the factory amp and try the method I said. I don't mind cutting off the plug all together as I have no plan to sell the car, and don't think that would be a negative thing if I had to anyway. Also why didn't you use the original amp 12v as the trigger? Was it constant instead of switching?

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  2 года назад +1

      @@jasondoulkeridis6202 I was trying to minimise the amount of pins taken from the plug. They’re really close together so it was just easier to take it from elsewhere. Buttt, thats a very traditional way of installing. I didn’t need a remote wire at all as the amp is intelligent enough to detect when music is playing and turn on.
