Try shooting a 6inch crescent wrench with the 17 while swinging back and forth on a string . . We use to try that with muzzle loaders from 25 yards . I never hit one .

When I saw what you were trying to do.... I thought this will be magic if it happens. Once upon a time, I was outdoors shooting off a card table on a rest with a CZ .22 using Olympic grade match ammo. I was shooting a target at 100 yards. The bullets drifted a couple inches to the right because of the wind but it was a nickel sized group. That is my personal best. Never would I have tried to shoot tooth picks at 100 yards. You have some big... ability to take a huge risk and post the results. Balls to you for trying it.

Back in the 70's when I was shooting on the Army Reserve rifle team we each had a block of wood with 10 3/16" holes spaced 1" apart. We would put matches in the holes and shoot at 100 yards with M14's and M1's. The object was to strike the match without breaking it. You got one point for a strike, and if you missed you lost a point. If you broke the match you lost 2 points. Most matches never got to 5 points, but we had one Sergeant Major that I saw him get all ten points several times.

Let’s see you try it with out that fancy brace. When I was a kid my dad made me shoot at empty .22 brass and weed stems with open sites but I sure didn’t try it at 100yds. I like the shot when you added a couple of toothpicks.

My mother used to shoot matches across our yard with a 22 and open sights.
This is why I like the 22 mag, more of a heavy bullet to compensate at that distance.

To prove a point to a buddy of mine how good the 17hmr is, I shot the leg of a ground squirrel at 80 yards. I love the 17hmr! My rifle is a savage minimalist.
I’ve got the same rifle in.22 mag, and it does the same thing no matter if the magazine is brand new or the original.
I had to laugh when you added all those tooth pics. It was great. You did hit one though before that.
Let’s see you splatter some bugs with that 17 at 50 yards! I’ve done it with my 22rf and 17m2. It’s unbelievably satisfying!
