Im curious at your thoughts. I know it is 9 years ago 😂 but did you remember what you thought when you saw the 'old car' pushing like that in the rearview mirror?
Easily one of the craziest laps I've ever seen around this place... Jaw was wide open the whole time - and that battle with the M3 was epic. I bet he was looking in his mirrors like "WTF is that thing chasing me??"
It's dangerous for real. To drive at Nurburgring in these late evening hours, when sun is low. Should be a safety rules for that. Cause you literally are completely blind in some corners.
Haha, so said my codriver. But it's an authentic japanese ornament, brought back from Japan and given to me as a gift from Fredric Aasbo. So it's not going anywhere ;)
Probably the best lap on the Ring I've ever seen. You don't have a brand new Porsche or M3 but a very well tuned old Toyota (with taste and talent) and your time is amazing. You just drive very well. Btw, you should get a roll-cage and rust remover. It would be better for you and your car ;)
Amazing to see your skills in real life sir! Respect. I've just uploaded a video of the Cressida during the refueling of your car at the Nürburgring Tankstelle.
That was awesome :D Would have loved some video from the outside as well. I wonder what the people you passed were thinking when you passed, specially the Porsche in the beginning :P
for the love of god get yourself a roll-cage, was haunted by the thought that the old toyota chassis went into the wall at 200kph and crumpled like a week old salad.
Tøft!!! Har vært der to ganger selv, i en gammel e36 320 :) Road trip Norefjell-Nurburgring! Fin forbi kjøring ved flugplats! Håper og få til en tur til sommeren igjen Bra kjørt!!!!!
nice lap. Everytime fully on the edge, but controlling it. This is the driving style I like, because the driver is doing it and not the car and the tires.
It sounds good, looks good and you show some impressive driving! Wonder how suprised the M3 owner was after he found out a old Toyota was sedan was hanging on to him.
He seemed more amused that surprised tbh. I think he was just cruising, perhaps even helping me get to traffic. From what I can recall he is usually 20-30 seconds faster when he is trying harder ;)
I mirror everyone else's comments with praise for the epic driving skills. I'm crazy curious, has your suspension set-up changed greatly since you had your little write up on Speedhunters? I daily drive a 77 MX36 Cressida Wagon and the way my boat floats and bounces across the road I can't imagine somewhere underneath that body roll is something that could manage a sub-8:30 time on the Nordschleife....!!! And on Kumho road tyres...Far out. Legend-status.
Thanks man. Suspension is pretty awesome actually. Same as in the write up. Very stiff and almost no roll, despite not running arb's. It does live a little, but very controllable :)
Fredrik Sørlie Yea it seems to still have a mildly hard weight transfer compared to other sportier chassis, but I suppose other sportier cars can use engine power to smooth out transitions?? Definitely looks stiff, how did it go on the carousel with the ride height and stiffness? I was interested when I read the speedhunters article about the use of the KE70 steering rack; I'd really like to look into that....What's the benefits of that over the Cressida rack?
hey Fredrik i just got a mx32 and plan on doing a build exactly like they one you have but with a 2jzgte is there anyone you can suggest to help out with specifics on the build such as what rack and pinion used, any subframe mods trans mounts used for the 2jz... and i got like a million more... there is very little information is out there and it would be a great help if i had someone to give me some pointers as i start this build this year
Not really that much to tell. Everything has just been custom made to fit. Not too complicated really. But a custom subframe, engine mounts and suspension. No bought parts.
BtG means Bridge to Gantry. It's the timing loop used for tourist laps, as you don't do the full lap. Timing starts under the first bridge after you exit the paddock, then stops as you pass the gantry at the start of the final long straight :)
nice lap. Everytime fully on the edge, but controlling it. This is the driving style I like, because the driver is doing it and not the car and the tires.
Hi! I was the driver of the M3 - great race! Thanks! :-)
Danke schön! It was great fun to follow you. Made me feel safer too, as your orange beast scared people out of the way :D
Fredrik Sørlie Thanks, it was a pleasure :-)
Achim, wie fühlt sich das an, wenn so ein alter Japaner im Rückspiegel hängt?

My thoughts exactly. I find myself getting bored watching some ring videos. This one did not disappoint.
I never thought you are that good in grip racing. You killed it, sir. Well done!
Thanks man. Racing is my background, actually. Probably still better at grip than drift ;)
+Fredrik Sørlie Nah youre good at both dude :P
Epic lap, one of the most thrilling in car laps I have seen. That Cressida is awesome, as they say 'Old is Gold'.
Nice G sensor in the mirror :D
that sun...almost got me blind, I must see the video with sunglasses, again, great lap.
It's dangerous for real. To drive at Nurburgring in these late evening hours, when sun is low. Should be a safety rules for that. Cause you literally are completely blind in some corners.
Damn! That was an epic race between you and that M3.. man that was fast! Never underestimate an old Toyota! High five for mad skils!
Great car control! Very nice lap! :) Smooth and easy in the traffic
I would kill that pink crazy thing waving in the rear view mirror! :D
Haha, so said my codriver. But it's an authentic japanese ornament, brought back from Japan and given to me as a gift from Fredric Aasbo. So it's not going anywhere ;)
Fredrik Sørlie Is this your G-meter ? :)))))
+Fredrik Sørlie hey nice car and everything but if it's from Japan wouldn't be right hand drive??
@@gordonremsey8055 car is originally Norwegian sold from a grandma or something, it's not originally from japan - yeah know reply is 4 years later :)
that rear view mirror ornament served as a good g-meter haha! awesome driving man!
On of the most exciting and interesting laps i've seen all yeah!! You sir, can drive and know your car 110% ! :D
Awesome driving!
Thanks for sharing that, love you Cressida. :D
Great driving! The Cressida looks even more fun to drive than the NSX!
Let's just say they are VERY different :P
It would be fun to see you driving Nürburgring without traffic! Awesome driving Fredrik!
wow, you really push your limits. that track looks dangerous. i got a rush just by watching.
Thats why its called green hell
2:06 was a Balls of Steel Moment for real🤯
You are probably the best driver of the Nurburbring ! Bravo !
Not even close, but thanks anyway :D

Awesome lap! The engine sounds a bit tired though.
Awesome! Chasing down a E46 M3 on 185 street tires, full custom made suspension and maybe even a welded diff? wow.
Impressive that he chose to do this at the worst time of the day when the sun is shining in his face.
That was awesome :D Would have loved some video from the outside as well. I wonder what the people you passed were thinking when you passed, specially the Porsche in the beginning :P
I was willing you to pass that BMW the whole time. Nice car, nice lap!
for the love of god get yourself a roll-cage, was haunted by the thought that the old toyota chassis went into the wall at 200kph and crumpled like a week old salad.
All of this with a welder? incredible.
That was just awesome!
- cute g-force meter ;D
Tøft!!! Har vært der to ganger selv, i en gammel e36 320 :)
Road trip Norefjell-Nurburgring!
Fin forbi kjøring ved flugplats!
Håper og få til en tur til sommeren igjen
Bra kjørt!!!!!

a clear case of zero understeer.
great driving!
cool car!
That time is amazing! Cressida, WTF!!
Wow, that was amazing! Just like your drifts. ;-)
damn I would love to own a Cressida but it's so hard finding one in germany. If I knew you were at the Nürburgring I would have visited :D
what can i say BALLS OF STEEL i tip my hat to u sir
It sounds good, looks good and you show some impressive driving!

Awesome Fredrik! Love it
Herlig kjøring :-)
Did you make Toyota bring back Cressida like 86:)
In my opinion, overtaking at Flugplatz was not OK!
I respect that. But in my defense, he was slowing down a lot and hugging the right side. But I agree that it was too agressive.
Amazing! and in a fuckin Cressida! More vids of this beast please!
Nice driving :D
The Cressida has a 2 JZ GE engine. Thats 250hp roughly. 8.26 in a 250hp car. You are an excellent driver sir.
+TheNecromancer6666 Thanks. I owe it to the ultra cheap 185/60-14 Kumho Solus tyres. Very good for fuel economy :D
+Fredrik Sørlie Of course ;)
Fearless
Awesome lap. I love the taxi-driver-style tassel hanging from the mirror! Do you also have an overly ornate tissue box on the rear parcel shelf?
💙
That was awesome !!
Really neat !!!
proper driving :O
Great Round Frédéric.
I have a Question About This Back Mirror G Force.. What is the exactly name of it?
I dont can find anything About this.
LG Tim
I have no idea, sorry. It was a gift from Fredric Aasbo after one of his trips to Japan.

good race
Fantastic Toyota.
Nuh. Herlig runde :-)
Was that a crack on your windshield and was it getting bigger? Nothing like driving into the sun.
Nah, it's been like that since Gatebil. Will fix it for next season ;)
Verrücktgeil!
Jesus christ you are quick!!! What kind of tyres are you running? These are just the 14" Longchamps right? hahaha
Kumho Solus KH17...
I'm blown away Fredrik, well done.

TUSEN TAKK FOR TUREN !
Where is the finish line in this race? Obviously not at the start line???
BtG means Bridge to Gantry. It's the timing loop used for tourist laps, as you don't do the full lap. Timing starts under the first bridge after you exit the paddock, then stops as you pass the gantry at the start of the final long straight :)
Fredrik Sørlie Thanks for clearing that up mate :)
Я понял зачем эта херня на зеркале - это акселерометр ))
I bet the driver of that m3 was pissed! I spent 50 grand and I can't shake a Toyota from the 80s! That's how to show em
actually from the 70's... ;)
That makes it even better
What makes the whining noise?
+xXPandakXx The welded, slightly worn out diff that is bolted to the chassis without bushings :P
oh thanks
i did a 7.47 lap with a GT-R 34!!!... on forza 3 ^^
Engine?
2jz
xXPandakXx Thanks! cheers
666th like satan's here
Hi Cressida ich würde liebend gerne bei dir mitfahren! Meine E-Mail lautet welter_christian1@gmx.de. du bist der geilste
