I really don't understand why they don't put more effort into the faces. Especially when they are likely to have sequel movies where the faces can be re-used... we know they can do it, just look at Chris Pratts JW figure, it's definitely him
Chris Pratt isn't asian.
@@JoelChenFa That's not what they were saying.
It's funny to think about. Chris Pratt got minifigs for two different movies series and played a minifig in another movie series.
@@sonicguyver7445 AND he played a character that is a combination of all three of those characters in LEGO Movie 2.
Out of curiosity why could they have done to this face to make "more effort" ? I mean lets be honest it's not like the Chris Pratt one really looks like Chris Pratt, it looks like a lego figure that has the similar facial hair to what Chris Pratt has in the movie. Now we got a character with no facial hair... not exactly giving Lego a lot to work with.
Hey Jang I'm so glad this channel is doing great I hope u get so so much more subs than your old channel
Thanks for the support & positivity!
1:30 I always thought the car main build on this set looked very lame but then I found out that I can stash a faceless six legged winged ball of fur in the back and I am completely sold with this set now
Funny how lego will sometimes go completely out of their way to create brand new face prints for named licensed characters, and sometimes they just disregard quality completely and cut corners.. quite sad honestly
It depends on the royalties
i love how its a compact simple car that still fits two minifigures AWESOME
It looks like they put most their effort on the main baddie and razor fist was made by random pieces found on the floor last minute
Chad pantsahat viewer
The turrets feel like a huge waste of parts budget unless they turn out to be significant in the movie. They seem overbuilt for firing just one projectile each and I would rather get another side build than a second turret.
I really appreciate how Jang pronounces Shang-Chi’s name correctly.
I have a big custom Ninjago city display and these minifigs are just the best!!!
I think the car kinda looks like that one city gas station set
Same I got those vibes from that set to this suv
I have a suspicion that those turrets are not movie accurate, as so many turrets in super heroes sets tend to be. Even still, I think this set is a decent value, despite some underwhelming figures.
I'm glad people are finding this channel!!!
The villain head sure looks like a Poe Dameron head (part 3626cpb1428). It does "feels like they cheaped out"
The Wenwu minifigure reminds me more of Carter Wong in Big Trouble in Little China
My biggest issue is, that Lego haven't even bothered to represent these asian characters in a realistic skin tone, OR bother to at least do new face prints, to actually look like the characters. They got it right with the Wong figure..
Not all asian people have a darker skin tone, and I don't think these are particularly bad (regarding the color not the prints). Best example is Cho Chang from Harry Potter, goolge her and you'll see that her minifigs are quite inaccurate.
Isn't Wenwu face very similar in print to the clone face?
It’s not just the Asian characters in these Marvel sets, it’s a whole bunch of characters who re-use already existing heads whether accurate or not
They have bothered though, alot of Asians have lighter skin tones they can't always do a tan head for every Asian.
@@broston_ yes, but this skin tone is not accurate for these actors
That Morris thing looks like a loaf of bread with wings.
Lego Marvel Fan here. I like the set, but I'll definitely wait for it to be discounted, just like the Black Widow one.
Fantastic judgement - 'feels like a set asking to be put on clearance'. :)
It's pure build O'clock until the Spanish Grand Prix replays are on !
Marvel: *tries to make new baby yoda*
Also Marvel: Faceless six-legged winged thing called morris
with no face
I like it mnore than Groggu :D
Great review as always man. I've been watching your videos since I was a kid. You'll be back to a million subs here in no time!
Even if your not the biggest marvel fan this set still has some pretty cool vehicles and figs
Honestly I really like the simplicity of this set, not too high tech like most of the sets these days, it’s kinda nostalgic
I bought both sets as soon as they were released, got to say, some of my favorite marvel one off sets.
Man I just wished Marvel would get the treatment of new head prints. Considering how hot Marvel is right now you would think LEGO would have the budget. Only one of the figures for this movie have a new head print.
I like the car and getting the Dasher motorcycle in that dark blue. Till now I have mainly only seen them in black, red, and white.
A neat car which can go better in a City setting withoit those damage stickers, the rest is just a neat figure pack.
Jeez those stickers on the yellow car aren't even close to a matching color!
Jang the new car base is not needed for most builds but it's just part of Legos current standerd parts production and they are probably pumping them out in hundreds of thousands. The wider car base was not needed but was included for the new city police car set which was almost identical to the 2014 police car.
I only want this set for the minifigures but unfortunately, the set not yet available in NZ yet.
Great!
Watch out! the car has a spoiler.
Just found this set for $6 on clearance
And finally, now that the movie was released, does not have a yellow car.
Hi jangbricks
I’ve heard people say they got 9 rings, mainly 10, sometimes 11, but somehow I got 12.
Is that a sand blue stud included in the extra parts??
Nice set
Morris isn't a cute character... He's a Weapon of Mass Distruction Killing Machine
He's a cute weapon of mass destruction killing machine.
2:36
How is that supposed to be akwafina???
Ntg when i first saw these sets I tought those were fan made
I think that the sets go well with lego Ninjago excluding the figures
It seems that Lego didn't want to dedicate a large budget to this range. I looked it up on IMDb, and there I read that the movie was quite big on BMW product placement - but the vehicle doesn't look like a BMW to me at all - it's not even the same colour as the iX3 featured in the movie. I'm picking up distinct Lexus hybrid vibes though. But Sir Jang, you should be rather pleased about the building techniques used to close the gaps around the fenders on this vehicle, unlike the gaps on City vehicles that you usually point out. 😁
Well, it will be good for the figures and sell the rest
Im probs get this set and use the figures as Witchers in my endgame final battle display
i cant believe i been watching him since 2014
How long before Lego releases a Shang-Chi mech suit? They seem to be big into doing that 🤣
Do you have the dragon? For the tutorial?
Honestly I like this one much more than the dragon it's just nice more fun to play with ik that's not everything but that's what I personally buy legos for(and the minfigures 🙂)
Also I really am a fan of that yellow car and the rest is just extra play value also I really like the Katie figure the other figures are ok
I'm sorry but from the outside, that yellow S.U.V looks exactly like the Electric Crossover from the most recent City Service Station. That doesn't mean I don't love it though, because I really do love the design and color.😅
Why are there so many stickers
Jang what happened to your old channel?
When u mention the faces are disappointing do you mean face details, accuracy ethnicity or all three?
He means the prints as they are reissues instead of new prints
Good based video.
I would get this
So in this set u acctualy get 4 Rings?
Leaving a comment for the algorithm
Nice! Haven't heard from you in a while....
Jang-Chi
The car looks like Chihuahua Karen’s car from the gas station set.
Hello
The car look like a Range Rover or maybe a Jeep, but the back remind me a Audi or a BMW x6... im confused
I love the fact that the car can take 2 passengers even if it's one in for t of the other. Apart from that, I'm not too excited about the set, the minifigs (which should be the main draw of the set) look so generic I won't even bother
The one ring returns from the LOTR/Hobbit theme. Other than that this is pretty underwhelming for a big Marvel release. Considering there is a car chase in the trailer, would have been nice to scrap the turrets and bikes, and instead have an assault SUV or at least something a little more interesting. Figs considering the collectability are notably disappointing a Lego did much better with previous one off releases like Dr Strange, and Black Widow. Out of the two sets though I'd probably get this one over the other, but not having seen the movie yet both are hugely uninteresting. Really glad Lego put more effort into the upcoming Eternal sets as they all loo pretty excellent.
Well the whole car is cracked
I’m dead
I’d say it’s probably an Audi, given how much Audi product placement is in Marvel movies
I really enjoyed this movie. I doubt anyone went to see this in the theater looking for a good car chase, but there is a slightly memorable car in the movie and this is not it in any way. I wish they’d given us a village of Tao Lo build, a fight with the Dweller in Darkness, or any one of the battle arenas/grounds, but instead we got this and they’ll probably just assume Asian-American Lego sets don’t sell, when in-fact it’s boring Lego sets having nothing to do with the movie that don’t sell.
There’s a bmw ix3 in the movie. So the car is probably based off that 🤷♂️
Jang I'd say $30 is fine but £30 is not, again Lego is making UK price more expensive which I did not see much of in 2018 to 2020.
Figures does not do justice. Especially for Tony Leung.
Still only 9 rings ahah
Hey jang when you start looking into the value of a set based on what you get ....shouldn’t you consider the price for packaging the set in a box, the sticker sheet and instruction Manuel
1] You buy the set for the parts/toy, not for the box and instructions (unless you are one of those weirdos who buy toys and never open their boxes).
2] Every set has packaging and instructions. So that's included in Jang's price estimates. If anything, packaging 3 small sets individually costs more than packaging the same parts together in one set, so Jang's estimates are already inflated.
I think legos issue is that they have black characters they have white characters they have female characters but no Asian characters and that is were this set would be improved also loved the review keep it up
Commander Sato exists. Also the charecters in this set look like their on screen appearence
Mmhh - 9 .. "Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die". interesting.
🤣 true
Why no medium nougat for the Asian people? like Cho Chang? I LOVE getting Asian skin tone for Mini-Figs. I love getting Black people in Lego also. Sure, yellow fits all in City and Creator, but for movie and TV people, i don't get why Lego can't give us a skin tone (or 2!) to represent Asian people. Asian fans, what are your thoughts? Am I wrong to prefer the skin color Lego chose for Cho?
I'm not of Asian descent at all, but I think this is a good topic. What I do when considering it is look at Chinese & Korean original manufacturers of LEGO-like minifigures and see how they depict their own people in minifig form. Interestingly every single one I see, whether representing something traditional (like Monkey King or Lunar New Year festivals), military, or modern metropolitan life, uses this same pale skin tone.
@@JANGsLEGOreviews Cool! Ok well I'll gladly defer to people of every skin tone and happily go with their preference on this. But man.. so far, "Black and Asian" skin color on Mini-figs looks great to me.
I think it should depend on the character/actor/actress lego is trying to portray. Shang Chi and Cho have very light complexions, while the tan complexion looks right for Wong and maybe Dr. Wu.
Overall, the medium-tan still seems too dark for most Eastern and South-Eastern Asian actors and actresses.
This movie is clearly sponsored by BMW, so thats probably an attempt at a BMW X6 or something. Audi had their turn before
Definitely feels cheaped out...Imagine if Guardians of the Galaxy had gotten this little effort.
Contextually...this set is lame.
When you look at the Black Widow set...which is similarly out of context...you get a sense of the scene's scale making it feel important. Certainly the set inspires imagination beyond its artwork.
Sadly this set is so out of context and limiting...it comes across as another "Ninjago bike chase". Hopefully this is not the "highlighted" action piece of the movie.
based lego reviews?? poggg
Minifigs are the only good thing in this set
First Asian marvel movie. Way to go Lego. Will pass on this until color of heads are corrected.
BMW X5....?
The faces of these minifigures are the most disappointing parts about these 2 sets
seriously poe dameron head
Such generic figures which is pretty disappointing. Cool simple builds though
Tesla
That car is far too oversized for just 2 figures.
"feels like they cheaped out" no? Lego? Really??? You just noticed they've been cheaping out lately
I mean this is a prominent example with this theme specificallyt
Lazy and forgettable. Yawn.
The set not Jang :)
A generic looking set for a generic looking movie...
So far anyways perhaps when they do more trailers the movie may start looking more interesting to me.
As of right now it just looks like another generic martial art movie
The builds are uninteresting and figures straight up bad. Lego clearly doesn't care about shang-chi that much so, why should we?
A fair comment IMO.
Marvel doesnt care about it either since china banned the movie
Marvel sucks
