I played NW since beta and have enjoyed my time, even bought the expan. but honestly with so little endgame content and no new pvp content, if they switch to a monthly subscription i am happy to walk away and play other games. it was a fun ride, but all things change, and with their lack of direction and content, the lifecycle of NW might be just about up. ggs
8:53 simple, free trial player (1-60) cant use action house, both will be happy, action house its not the main experience of a mmo rpg, and also, this will combat bots if new world come to be free
battle passes are garbage imo.. if they want more money they need to reduce store costs... i'd buy skins IF they looked better & cost less. The store has several hundred pounds worth of junk imo.. eveything needs improving if they want my money.
i feel like the combat for new world will translate really well to consoles. hopefully that brings in new fans that enjoy this type of combat and are willing to put up with a little bit less content than they might be used to. unless they choose to release on console along with an expansion that includes the base game, angry earth and whatever the new thing is, that might make more sense.
I think mmos have life cycles. In the begining you have the vision , then comes corporate. I think what your sensing coming isn't Nirvana . Just my 2 cents

S5 seems lacking, and failing to deliver on promises turns not only old players away, but also new. Console play is a good move, and New World's controller compatibility is unique in that it can actually support it. From history, Scot Lane's words should often be taken with a pinch of salt. Dave V stepping away from combat is a big win imo. (Combat Lead recruitment post celebrates 1 year in 3 weeks?!) Monetization update makes sense; should've been utilizing Amazon Prime since day 1.

There's no reason for them to announce code change on PTR. It's likely spaghetti code refactoring to make future updates less painful. It should be totally transparent if done right.
Agreed. They think content is adding more story quests and another dungeon when what they need is a focus on building systems around what they already have in place to make it worth playing. Pvp ranking and modes, a leaderboard system that doesn't suck, gearing system that feels rewarding and not just 99.9% salavage for a useless item.
Corporate is coming in, pitching ideas. What about a monetization like, Diablo immortal? What about a wow token like system? What about loot boxes? What if we create a storage or some other problem then sell them the solution? - I smell something ahead to when they don't want to tell us the years schedule and the fact that you can't even start a new character and become fully functional right now. - evidence being that my main character bugged and can't do quests, started new character since I'd like to do artifacts and stuff and the msq is gone 😂. Like the game at least let you go from begining to end on launch. Now you can't even go from A to B. - this level of dis function has costs, and I think their is going to be "reorganization".
I will uninstall this game if it becomes a monthly subscription or no new pvp content like opr maps and modes are added. The game has quickly become a time and money sink rather than fun with all the changes we have to keep up with!
tbh the best thing they could do to change monetization is simply to move from the seasons to purely paying for an expansion once a year, like if the expansions had significantly more content like pvp content,progression,multiple zones,weapons,raids etc i think nobody qould complain if they then cost like 50-60€ once a year if the amount of content added matched the pricetag
Absolutely would make sense that console version is being worked on. However, I don't agree with the sentiment that a console version is the only reason controller support would be worked on. Plenty of us on PC like to play on controller too, since PC is very easy to hook up to your big TV these days and easily playable from the couch. I'm super glad that the option is being added even if no console version is ever coming. That said, a console version is absolutely coming.

Controller Support and Console Release. AGS is setting up the second half of 2024 to be huge. I also know they said "no current plans for fresh start servers" in 2023, but let's be honest. Are they seriously going to launch console release without fresh start servers? I doubt it.

Would not pay monthly fee for this game. I play on and off since release, but it’s not worth a mo they fee.
If May when content was dropping they'd tell us a bit more about what they are dropping. Unfortunately it's just going to be an announcement
