Your getting old Davy! All that crawling around in those uncomfortable spaces gets painful! Just want to let you know it doesn't get any better...Great job though! That repair is so much stronger than the original work!

That part of the mast below the deck is usually seperated from the mast near the deck and is called a mast post. What is that part made of in that boat ? I've found the board, its called Coosa Board (couldn't make out the spelling before). Was the boat squeaking and creeking when he sailed ?

Is there a lagoon that does not fail under normal use ? These are not old boats and this is a major structural repair where they left plywood to rot in a locker expected to get water in it . Every single one of these models will have the same problem and it is a major problem and a big fix .
I really like my dry bilge boat these days . If there is water in the bilge you have a leak to fix not just something you expect because the boat is built with leaks .
One other thought , did you get all the rot given you can not actually see most of the wood bulkheads in the boat ?

Nice work, you are definitely a good friend. Thank you! This video is so timely, my smaller cat may be needing a similar job because of exactly the same water entry issue where wires go through at the base of the mast. Question: did you do more coating with 1708 before gluing on the second layer of coosa board over that transverse bulkhead?

Yes two total then the second layer of board then more tabbing with more 1708
