Anyone mentioning audio issues. I’m not seeing it? I’ve tried it on mobile, laptop and TV . What y’all watching on?
on my phone.. starts at this segment 5:49
It plays fine on iPhone, although the quality is notably different for the segment they’re mentioning. It’s almost painful to listen to for some reason.
Audio plays, but the audio quality drops from 10 to 1 😂. Sounds like mono actually.
Yeah I'm having trouble with the audio, watching the video on my phone rn.
(that aside, your reviews are quite amazing mate👌👌❤)
yep starting at 5:38 until 9:45 you have a phase shift in your audio / VO ... it sounds really bad and if you switch your audio to mono your VO is completely gone (that's what a phase shift does) usually it caused by wrong cabling or have something mic'ed (like a drum) with a mic on up and one down (usually that is not as "dramatic" as in your audio) or if you have the phase shit button activated on a mixer for one source and not the other and so on ... can be a simple yet complex issue even if you switch stuff around in your audio editor with the left and right signal...
This one seems like a slam dunk if you need a fast wide angle lens. I don't exactly "need" one but this may make it into my bag. Thanks so much for the video.
Great job on the lens Viltrox….great job in the video Chris! Really cool, really cool.
I’ve been looking forward for this video, thanks Chris for grinding out the video.
Appreciate you!
I’m super excited for this!!!
👀👀👀
Hi Chris.
thank you very much for this video, can I ask you what kind of filter do you use in the video? I'm looking for something that doesn't give me the edge problems!
Thanks
how is the stabilization with cameras like the A7CII (active stabilization) and ZV-E1 (dynamic stabilization) vs. Sony lenses like the 16-35mm f2.8 GMII? And how does the autofocus compare for video in low light?
I'm trading my 24 GM f1.4 for this. 24mm is already covered by my 24-70 if needed(only had the GM for low light gimbal shots on weddings), but for a good gimbal lens, i always wanted something wider, with good low light and video AF.
Should you recommend this lens for video or sigma 16-28 .?
Let me ask you this, I am debating between the Viltro 16mm 1.8 vs Rokinon 14mm 2.8 for real estate photo/ video?
Would this be any good for astro. I really try to purchase lenses with dual purpose rather then buying two separate lenses even at a lower cost. Spend a little more and have a wide lens thats also usable for astro for eg.
I really wanna see portraits with this lens
Would you recommend this lens over the tiny sigma 17mm f4 you recently reviewed? I would love the hear your thoughts
The sigma is sharper, but the viltrox has the 1.8 low light capabilities so it depends on your preference.
I had the Sony 4 1.8 for astro but I sold it to cover some expenses, this is very tempting to replace it for the cost!
Would this be a good lens for astro?
Your audio cut out when you started talking about the screen on the lens around 6min.
I don’t really shoot wide but there are times that I do and this would hit the sweet spot of speed and angle of view. A plus is that it can be filtered.
I can’t believe the price!! Viltrox is the Godox of glass!!
Check the audio on the second half, just not there
For real state, this or the new G 16-25?
Great video but your mic audio entirely cuts out at 5:40 until 9:45!
kkkkkkk
Plays fine to me?
Got the same issue.
@@johannesfrey168 ive watched on a phone, tablet, laptop and TV and can't see what's up. What are you watching on?
@@chrisbrockhurst im watching with the RUclips app on an android phone. Just checked again and same issue
Something's up with your audio Chris
I see A7iv not listed as a compatible camera…?😢
It should be compatible with a7iv.. it is for a7iii why not for a7iv since both are full frame
This lens or Sony 20mm f1.8?
Sony 20mm lens is super light and compact. That’s the only reason to get it. But it seems like this lens is bargain and great quality, but it’s a little chonky.
I used to own the Sony 14mm, 20mm and 24mm.
I sold the 20mm because it felt too close to the other ranges to stand out. But I found myself missing it.
I'm now going to sell the 14mm and get the Viltrox. I like that it sits in between those ranges, and can take front filters. And it'll ultimately make me a few hundred dollars back.
How about sunstar?
Seems like the auto focus is pretty slow or is it just me? Seems like it can't keep up with you moving around.
Wide lenses have a harder time when you’re further away so maybe that’s it?
cross fingers sony comes out with a gmaster version
not for portraits? challenge accepted
16mm on crop sensor = 24mm. So not superwide, a standard cinema wide, used because you don't really see any wide angle distortions. 24mm is fabulous ! But super wide it is not!
Don't confuse people.
Nah. I got Viltrox 13 mm f/1.4 :P
APSC
Totaly different lens. This 16mm f1.8 is full frame lens dude.
@@user-de7ee2rr2o I know, I have only Apsc. And this 16mm won't give me much because of cropping factor.
Bit late to the game here! Lol
My copy of this lens arrived with faulty AF out of the box and I am returning it for a refund. Not a good first impression of Viltrox. Basically garbage.
A big FU to every youtuber that hyped this lens up after getting it for free and then telling everybody "my opinions are my own" so they keep getting free shit. The price of this lens went from $466 to $580 in just the last week.
Not sure I understand what’s happening here?
