1964 Chevy Impala Station Wagon! My first classic car! 327 finally gets some TLC!

- I bought this car in 1999 at a local estate sale where it had been abandoned in a backyard for 20 plus years. The 327 was locked up so this was my FIRST revival as a 14 year old punk! Well it's been neglected for the past few years so lets address some of those issues and fix a few of my screwups from 20 plus years ago. This car is NOT FOR SALE! Well, I mean, if someone gave me $327,300 for it in cold hard cash I'd probably let it go... Maybe... As always, thanks for watching!

Isn't it great to take that walk down memory lane with your old cars and trucks from your youth and discover temporary fixes that became permanent fixes! "What was I thinking when I did that" LOL! Oh the joys of youth!
Best channel on RUclips !!! Look forward to every video.
Crocus cloth is an abrasive sheet similar to sand paper or emery cloth but covered with a layer of very fine loose iron oxide particles rather than with bound grains of abrasive. It is intended for final metal and gemstone finishing and is available in various grades.
The plastic pins with the oil pan gasket is for when the engine is still in the car and you have to put the pan on it will hold the gasket in place and than hold the pan up than you can start bolts. I just used one of these on my ford 289 when I had to drop the oil pan. It made the job so much easier. Nice video good to see you have your old ride, I have my 68 Mustang that I picked up in 89. Give Duff a pet for me.
The felpro inserts are for holding the oil pan gasket and pan aligned when when installing while the engine is still in the vehicle. Really worked slick on my 460.
Mortske it would be nice since you had this wagon for so long, you should make this one nice . Fix the seat, the door panels, the suspension, disc brakes all the way around , pump & tank for your airbags, &fix the rust so you can keep it nice. I would love to see more of this build. Keep up the great work and God Bless. 💯👍👍🤙oh yeah rims & tires to please 🤣😂
The more you drink 🍸 the funier you get.
For sale, not on sale, good words.
great video, greetings from far away Spain, I see all your videos, it's crazy what you can do with a car. keep it up you will go far man
I’d personally like to seem more of this car. Do what you want to do. I agree with upgrading air ride, disk brakes, seat fix, would like to see a bit of an actual project from you. Always enjoy
Totally agree with pet peeve about people slamming doors!!
"It's FOR sale, not ON sale". LOL, best quote mate.
Love this car. I could've bought cars like that back in the 80s but then as a teenager you think those aren't cool but just look at what you can do with them. You also have a great collection of cars and trucks. God bless you and Duff.
For a cheap set up for compressor I used one out of a Buick Lesabre air ride system then added a gauge in the cab with a switch to turn the compressor of and on . To be able to adjust the pressure going down the road I used a air ride seat valve on a bracket under the dash . I'm able to turn the switch on to start the compressor look at the gauge and add or subtract air as needed . I use mine for towing with my F150 but this is a cheap way to get what you need .
It would be good to see more on this car, also you might consider putting the suspension back to stock. The 64 looks great for a 58-year-old car.
Waggons are cool,in Australia they were big in 60 70s I had 1964 Holden waggons, 186 red motor, Toyota 4 speed box, twin carbs, and of course headers, but no flexi hoses ,great times cheers mate
All that indoor car storage thats rich people things!! Lol
That engine was manufactured one day after I was in 64 😂 I got a soft spot for Impalas because my grandfather had a 63 and a 64, my grandmother wrecked the 63 and 75 and then they bought a 75 Impala. I'd love to see more of that car. Once again I really love you videos and keep up the good work 👍☮️
It's great you decided to look at the timing chain. Thank God you saved your self from a broken heart and money. Nicely done.
I Thoroughly enjoyed this video . I'm 67 and at 18 I bought a 1963 Impala Sport Coupe that had 62,000 miles on it for $450 dollars . It was a 283 , 2 barrel with a powerglide trans and I made it look and run like it was new . I loved that car and your video tonight took me back , vividly , to those days . Even though yours is a '64 Wagon , it has the same red interior that my '63 had as well as the padded dash and mine even had the stainless protector around the filler door like your '64 . Those wind out vent windows are a pleasure as well. Your work on this car showed the import that this one holds for you. The little squeaks and ticks and details about it's handling that you noticed and spoke about were a departure from your usual commentary and is a genuine sign , in my mind and heart that this car is very special to you . If you were to go the whole nine yards on any one of the cars you have owned , it is this one. It is in fine enough condition that it would be a very doable and worthwhile endeavor to do your own style and level of restoration on it , including paint. The pleated styling of the upholstery with the stainless buttons on the upper part of the seats and the door panels are a beautiful styling feature . The engine really sounds a runs great. It would be something very special to do this one up for yourself. It is a very deserving car and you are very deserving guy to have this very valuable and sentimental classic to cruise around in 10, 20,30,40 years from now. I really wish I still had my '63 . I don't know how what I've said sounds to you , however , I couldn't be more sincere in saying this to you. Great video about a very special car , Mortske !!!
