Barbara Mason is an American soul singer songwriter with several R&B & pop hits in the 60's-70's. "Yes, I'm Ready" is her biggest hit. Some other songs were "Sad, Sad Girl", "Oh How It Hurts", "Give Me Your Love", "From His Woman To You" etc.

YEZZZ YEZZZ Finally Finally a reaction Barbara was only 15 when she wrote and recorded this song she also wrote tons of other song A gutzy record for it time. So ahead of it time countless people have recorded this song. She is Another one of those soul artists that is considered a one hit wonder
that is far far from the truth. She was one of the top soul female artists of the 60s/70s wrote Poor girl in trouble (another one of those controversial records) Oh how it hurts Sad sad girl Hello baby to name just a few. Miss Mason has never gotten the same accolades as many female artists of the 60/70s have. Believe me she is at the top of that list ✌️&♥️

I just found this record recently and I love it! Did some research and it's the FIRST song she ever wrote and recorded, released Jan 1, 1965 when she was 18...and she's still with us too. I wonder how it squeaked by industry and record label censors, especially with the line "I'm ready to learn how to do all the things you want me to do". Every man loves to hear that...

Kudos to both of you. You both have found a good thing in each other. Mel I commend you for being a woman who wants to be a woman and not a “ain’t no man gonna tell me what to do” type of woman. Some women are like that when they grew up without a father figure.
Side note: fathers, you are doing your children a disservice when you choose not to be part of their lives.
