You are on a roll! Might I suggest hedgehogs & bunnies. Your adorable little creatures never fail to make me smile. We all need more smiles these days.
I don't remember reading much, until I discovered Archie comic books. I spent all of my time before that coloring and making clothes for my paper dolls. I just love your "warm and fuzzy" birds! The color choices are most clever. I would like to paint my walls with quin gold!! Worms....yah they are pretty icky. I used to throw them and slugs out into the woods but now I find a stick and put the worms in a pot or bed, they are so good for soil. Slugs? That is another story! Thanks for sharing your beautiful paintings. Cas
I have a new problem since finding your channel-I now have many wonderful paintings based on your instructions, and I'm not sure what to do with them! I only have one 7 month old grandchild and I'm already sending her a watercolor postcard every week. Your little birds and other creatures are perfect for that. I think she may have watercolor walls soon. Thank you for this delicious problem. And keep up the charming chatter! I love your dogs, sheep and chickens and their adventures!
Diane- I loved painting along with you tonight-from Florida! Such fun. Just what I needed. Thank you for your whimsical paintings and for sharing your thoughts on Tea, gardening, crocheting and life in general. 😊
I love your paintings! I am just starting out. I too read the Bobbsey Twuns, Nancy Drew, Honey Bunch books. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent!
Hi Victoria, and welcome to the channel! So glad you found us. If you have any questions don‘t hesitate to ask either here or on Facebook! Happy painting and thanks for your kind words xxx
Thanks Diane... Very pleasant watch with my coffee this morning.. Love your whimsy. And the simple paintings help me to think i can do it too.. Hugs! deb
I watched this video with my morning coffee and I love the playfulness and whimsy of the piece. I hope you are feeling some pride over the great job you and your daughter have done growing your channel. Yay, you!! P.S. - lemon balm is also lovely infused in your water bottle.
Hi Robin and thanks for your lovely comment! I've tried the lemon balm in water - great idea!!! Thanks so much for your ongoing support, it's thanks to you and a few other early supporters that we've got here. THANK YOU!
Arthur Ransome…Swallows and Amazons and the rest. I absolutely loved those books! Enid Blyton, of course. Rudyard Kipling, Kenneth Graham…I was a great reader.
Just discovered your channel and this art piece makes me smile and I will definitely give it a try. Love your relaxed teaching style as it encourages your students to let go and paint free. The Bobbsey Twins books were the first chapter books I read and I still have them. They were given to me from a friend of my mother’s when I was 8 and they had been her books when she was little. They are copyright from 1915 through 1947. So yellowed and brittle now but still a treasure to me. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Thanks so much for sharing that lovely story! What a treasure you have there! I have a soft spot for old children's books, although my own collection is very small. Thanks for the kind words and I'm so glad you are enjoying the tutorials!
I was very stressed because I have to travel a ways with 2 of my dogs to a new location to my vet. Your videos calm me right down. Watching these little birds come to life and listening to your calming voice, I did not need one of my anxiety pills today. thank you for that. My mother used to read the Bobsie Twins. She used to talk about them. My sister and I loved Laura and Little House. We used "persnickety" here in the US I think. I use it sometimes. Such an adorable painting. Thanks.
These birds are so cute. I sketched them out and inked the outlines. No time to paint today 😕but I did makes some copies on my printer so My Grandkids could paint or color the picture too. Thanks Diane.
I loved reading the Bobbsey Twins! Also, the Boxcar Children and the Nancy Drew mysteries. I think we are in the same age group, roughly. I love your soothing voice and you are one of my favorite artists. XOXO
Super cute and simple painting. And I used to love watching Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons is one of my favorite shows. Have you tried buying just loose tea leaves? You can get the bags and fill them yourself or use one of those diffuser balls you dip in the water. That's strange that your tea is just powdery. I have never had that happen.
I love the colors you use. I love the whimsy of the birds. A small group will be gathering to follow your lesson. We'll see who's the best student. ;-)
♥️ I hope I can be as good as you one day !! I’m so used to acrylic, I’m having problems working with water . Practice practice practice ‼️😊 PS . What’s your favorite tea with lots of caffeine ??
It's a talent to create a whimsical painting with a cute story ! Thank you for the ideas ! To add to your book list -- Nancy Drew was another favorite of mine. ♥️
Love these birds - they remind me of the sparrows in my hedge who give me disapproving looks from time to time, lol. I also loved Jennings and Darbishire as a girl - so funny, makes me smile just thinking about them, thank-you for the reminder Diane.
I love whimsical paintings. This one is so cute! Thank you for sharing sketches to print, and for showing us how to sketch on our own too...both are very helpful. I’m excited to make this adorable painting and hang it up in my home :)
Just discovered you and so happy I did!..New subscriber! Absolutely love these cute whimsical birds! I love the color palette and I really like how you use other mediums in your paintings ( micro pen, gold gel pen) really adds such beautiful detail...tfs! Have a great day!💕
This is so perfect! Love the softness❤️ Love all your tutorials! I would like to share the idea of Roasted Dandelion Root tea if you don’t mind. Mine is Traditional Medicinals Organic. Since I can’t have caffeine, I found this. I don’t care for decaf coffee😉 closest taste to coffee I have found in a tea! 🙂
I've had this painting on my "must do this next" list for a week... I guess I just wanted to make sure I had the time to go over it carefully the first time. It's a little tricky to try to watch you and do it at the same time, but it worked out ok in the end. Thanks
Love this series of whimsical paintings. I,too, read all of the Bobsey Twin books as a child and many times! Don’t own any now, but do have a large collection of children’s books that bring joy! Take care. From Susan in New England.
I agree, with you the world is upside down. I have been so sad about it all. I need your channel to help me come back to center. I’ve been a nurse a very long time. I have seen a lot . But nothing like what the governments have done to people to harm them over the last couple of years. I can’t forgive or forget what they did to so many innocent people.
I just love these whimsical paintings! So precious. What utensil were you using to erase your pencil marks? I couldn't tell if it was some type of pen or pencil or something else? And where do you get your segmented paint trays? I found the stackable paint cups which I think are charming. I just haven't nailed down your tray.
Your birds are enchanting! I love the details like their little knees😊 I do love the Bobsy twins and Nancy Drew!! On days when I feel isolated, I just turn on your channel and listen. I love your musings. I feel as if I am sitting with my sister and chatting! Thank you Diane. I understand how much work is involved with your videos and really appreciate it. Oh, what is the name of the little boy that crochets? I tried to google it and had no luck! Thanks again 😊
Hi Diane! Just found your channel. I love these cute little birds and enjoyed your video. I also read the Bobbsey Twins stories as well as a series about a girl called Maida and books about The Five Little Peppers when I was growing up. I'm just learning to watercolor and can't really draw at all but may be able to create these adorable birdies with this relaxed style. The cute embellishments are so fun, too. Thank you for sharing your talent. I've requested an account so I can download the sketch. Perhaps when my granddaughter visits we'll paint this together. She is quite the young artist. Much more talented than I am. This will be a fun project to do together. I was holding my kitty as I watched and she quite enjoyed the video as well. Have a lovely day!
I'm new to water waters and your channel. I love your whimsical paintings! Could you please be more specific what pen you recommended? I looked at your Amazon list, but could not figure out which one it was. Thanks!
A whimsical flock of "Wollygags" - entertaining and unforgetable! Diane!
You are on a roll! Might I suggest hedgehogs & bunnies. Your adorable little creatures never fail to make me smile. We all need more smiles these days.

You would be surprised how happy your friends and other family would be to receive one of your hand painted postcards. Snail mail is the best!
Mrs. Antone, your paintings delight me. Thank you!
You are so welcome!

Yes, my American Grandmother used to say persnickety, very sweet old fashioned word!
Perfect! Thanks for your quick reply!
Any time!
I really like the look of watercolor and ink!
Me too, it's quite uplifting to the watercolor background x
I loved the Bobsey Twins too. Oh yes, and Nancy Drew! Hello from NZ!

Wonderful! It’s usually a good idea to watch through once and then a second time, pausing as you go so you can keep up. Glad you enjoyed this one!
Love it!

I know. It doesn’t bear thinking about. And now I think my husband might be developing a post vaccination syndrome. Argh.
I just love these whimsical paintings! So precious.

The ones I'm using at the moment are the Pigma Microns, here's a link: amzn.to/3OkNiZq
You seriously should consider illustrating a childrens book.
Thanks Monica! I’m open to offers!
Absolutely
