My husband and I truly enjoyed your guidance as well as your beautiful music! Thank you from Connecticut! We just bought one of these for his birthday/father's day present.
I’ve had my Ibanez now for five years. what I like that it most is the thin body and the narrow neck, which makes it comfortable to play especially with my 79-year-old fingers. It does sound great both amplified and amplified. I hook it up to a small device to amplify the volume through my ear phones so no one else is bothered by my playing. I recommend highly especially for the price of $299.
You said just about everything I would have put in my comment. I've own mine for Twenty years and like you I've good some 70 something fingers to work with.
Hello david. I am shocked at how well this guitar really is. I love it.. my boy's bought this for me for Christmas and I went to college to learn classical guitar over 30 years ago and am impressed. Thanks for the upload!!
I don't have Jimi's fingers so I'm gonna check this out. I have a local mom & pop shop who is an Ibanez dealer that has it in stock & they do setups on all of their guitars. I've been wanting a nylon guitar to mess around with. Thanks for the demo!
Just picked up one of these. What I like most about it is that it’s so easy and fun to play. The guitar that you most want to play has to be your best guitar right. Recommend it.
I just bought this one. 😍 Was searching for a video to learn how to use the tuner. Found you. My gosh your play so smoothly! Just moved in here in Texas. 🙂
Welcome to Texas. You're so very kind and thank you for the nice compliment. I hope you figured the tuner out. If not let me know and I'll try to help. It's a great guitar especially for the money. Thank you for watching and have a great day.
@@davidmurphey9514 Thank you! yes I figured it out. I am enjoying playing this! The sound is just amazing! I don't if it's this guitar or my practice sessions, but the barre chords are sounding so clear! 😀🙂
I just purchased a new 2024 version and I had buyers remorse until I used my Fender Champion with twin 12’s. I’m smitten. Very underrated guitar and seemingly very under priced.
I just ordered one, this review was helpful in making my decision. Incredibly, I was longing for the Godin slim you mentioned. I feel great about the Ibanez now. Thanks, I subbed.
The Godin is a great guitar but not for everyone. It has some learning curves. Such as learning how to control the overtones. It's a great guitar for recording or using the Roland synthesizer that is compatible with it. However in a live setting the Godin isn't my Choice. This small Inexpensive nylon string guitar has minimal overtones at higher volumes. I don't have to use a feedback buster at all. The guitar is comparable sound without the huge neck. It is slimmer than a Classical guitar. All and all it is what I needed and enjoy. Let me know how it works for you. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching
Thanks for the review, I liked it so much I found a used one at the nearby Guitar Center for $250 including a nice case. I went and tried it out and bought it!
I've ouned mine for 20years. This video did this guitar justice. I walk into a guitar shop twenty years ago . Took this guitar up. Strum it. And walked out of the store in fifteen minutes. I oun other and better guitars, but this guitar is very comfortable to play. B
Good review men I been playing metal and blues and neoclassical in my electric trying too transition into some acoustic I think ima give this this ,from Houston tx
Sweet song David, I think I might buy this guitar. Need a nylon string with electronics for a couple songs I do in my show and this seems to fit. Thanks for doing this. It sure helped me, great playing also. :)
David thanks for the review! I'm not sure if i got this right as it was a bit unclear in the intro but you said that you had low end string tone issues, but then you said that "they have fixed it and changed it".. do you mean that you had a luthier change the pickups or that Ibanez changed them/updated the model? I'm about to jump on this guitar but yours is the only one that sounds nice from all the videos I've seen. Thanks!!
I had bought this model a couple of years prior to the one you see in the video. The bass on the pickup was weak. I tried a few others that same year and they all had the same problem. 2 years later I tried several of the same like the one in the video. They all had a good low end response. That's what I meant that they had fixed it. I really like the way this guitar sounds now. It's a fairly common guitar at Guitar Center unless they have run out. Go by and play one through one of their acoustic room amps. If you find one you like grab it. Or they will bring you one in a box. Thanks for your question. I hope that was the answer you were looking for. Thanks for watching.
David, I bought one of these a few years back. Beautiful guitar and I love it. Like you I have an issue with the plugged in tone. On mine the two middle strings are loudest and the strings get quieter as you go outward with the high and low E being the quietest two strings. I wonder what is different about this new version. I’ve had mine worked on twice with no resolution (even got a new pickup). I wish I could get it fixed without replacing the whole guitar. Thanks for the video!
Sounds like if you've had a new pickup installed and the problem still exists. You might pull out the saddle and see if it's level. Or the piezo pickup isn't aligned properly
Thanks for the great video. I just bought an Ibanez GA34 and I'm having some trouble with getting used to the string tension on the treble side. I'm not sure what the difference is between the G35 and G34, but it looks like your neck may be a little slimmer in width than mine. It makes me wonder if I should have purchased the G35 instead. Could you give me your thoughts on this? Thanks!!
I haven't played the ga 34. Certainly looks and sounds like a great guitar. I'm sorry I won't be able to compare the 2. Thank you for your comment and for watching. You might going to a lower tension string on the first or bottom 3.
Unplugged, not that great. It's way to thin to resonate. You can hear it well enough to practice but it would be acoustically unsatisfying. Electrically it's not the best either. It's a pretty good and worth the money. I use it for my recordings and sounds very good live. It also feels made well. Plays well straight out of the box. Thanks for watching.
@@davidmurphey9514 hmm, thanks maybe it would be better to find one used. I really want to love this guitar lol it’s basically everything I wanted, it not being loud works fine for me because I live in a apartments (usually play electric with headphones because of this reason) as long as it didn’t sound horrible I don’t think I’d have any issue at all. I have a old squire short scale acoustic that I love, everyone is shocked when they try it. I was hoping to basically get an upgrade from that with some pick ups and the famous Ibanez neck with nylon string. Might try to see if my local guitar stores has one. 😛 thanks for the reply!
Initially I played it with the strings it came with. However, use DAdarrio ball end strings. I don't like making the knots at the bridge. The DAdarrios seem brighter and last longer. Easy string changes but the stretching still takes a while. Thanks for your question and for watching. I hope I answered your question
I’m late to this party, but first of all… great piece of music. Nicely done, sir! Secondly, a question: I’m recovering from thumb surgery and looking for something easy to play. Sounds like you said it is. Is that true? Thanks!
Typically classical style guitars are hard to play because of the high action. This guitar in reference to those guitars is much easier to play. As well as steel string acoustics. For the price its really good. However, if your needing something easier to play I recommend the Cordoba stage or the Godin Multiac slim nylon. These are very easy to play but amplification is needed. The Cordoba is the most affordable. In either case all will need setting up by a luthier. I hope this helped answer your question. Thanks for watching.
Hi David, can you make a video playing with a cheap vs expensive guitar, and also playing with a fine tuned vs bad tuned guitar, of course when you have time. Thanks!
If the strings had different volumes to the previous one you owned it was more than likely that the pick up was not installed right rather than it being being a case of bad electronics.
Thank you for your comments. True that sometimes a saddle that's improperly shaved or pickup placement can be culprits. This should not be something a consumer should experience on a new guitar. I played 4 different guitars from the same year model. They all had the same problem. Thanks for watching
Hi David. I’m looking at one of these on Facebook Marketplace, but after seeing your video, but I now wonder if it is one of the new models with the right type of pickup. Would you know by the serial number or model number?
You should be able to Google Ibanez serial numbers and find that out. If it's over 2 years old I would definitely check it out plugged in before buying. Good luck and thanks for watching
Truthfully I'm not sure what Ibanez did differently. Whether they changed the pickup or just did a better job of pickup placement but it is definitely different from the ones I played a couple of years ago. It could possibly be just better quality control.
