      You have to start small to grow big. I started from financial market. Didn't have any clue about trading or investment but I'm glad I came across a regulated broker who is my investment advisor and trader. He handles all my trading activities and investment. One thing as a beginner is to have professional guidance at your end. You mustn't invest your time to make profit.

    I think one of the best parts about this is that this resume isn’t one of those loaded resumes with tons of fancy work experience. He even says “I don’t really have any leadership.” Shows that if you work herd in your education and Nail the interview, you can do it. So for any one of you guys who doesn’t feel qualified, you got this 💪🏼

      @@meme_chef late reply but compared to the other stuff, grades are the ‘easy’ bit. There’s a very high correlation between how much effort you put into studying smart and your grades.
      The rest? Not so much. Born to parents of the same nationality and your parents didn’t move around much when you were younger? Boom, you likely only speak one language.
      Applied to 500 spring internships? Sorry, it’s the luck of the draw mostly. I’ve had friends who got in purely based off of a fluke interest they included that resonated with the hiring guy, like Poker. The interviewers said as much.
      Didn’t have the positive influence of someone introducing you to interesting hobbies like chess, ice skating or sport? Sorry, you’re not going to achieve a high level in any of those in time for apps if you started late in life, at least compared to the people who started early

    • @Ghost____Rider
      @Ghost____Rider Год назад

      @@alano2475 Unfortunately this is so true. I have good school grades and good grades from a top 10 university. However, I was born to parents of the same nationality and they didn't move around at all so I only speak one language confidently. I didn't have any interests to talk about with interviewers. I didn't have any positive influence of anyone introducing me to interesting hobbies. Not many people in my circle know much about anything so I'm just figuring out everything myself. It's so much about luck and factors beyond your control. It's not fair.

    I have one question for people who work in financial markets.
    If you people are capable of making profits from investment and trading, why do you need to raise funds?

    • @ManuelRodriguez-uj1wt
      @ManuelRodriguez-uj1wt 3 года назад +3

      So many reasons to be honest, but the answer you're looking for is probably this.
      Say you are able to constantly beat the market at 15%/yr returns. You start off with 1 million dollars. In 5 years, you would have doubled your money, up to 2 million dollars. So, 1 million dollars in profit or 100% ROI.
      If you had raised up to 100 million in funds and played the same magic investment strategy that gets you 15%/yr returns:
      Normally (don't quote me on this though), funds take 2/20 in mgmt fees, which means 2% of the total funds raised as commission and 20% of the profits (if any) as commission.
      After 5 years your fund will have, again, doubled its money at 200 million, but you'd have taken (more or less) 13 million in management fees (2%) and 20 million in profit fees (20%). So 33 million over all, up from the million dollars you made on your own.
      Obviously, you're now playing in a bigger league, and that comes with another set of risks. First of all, it's not your money, so you better not lose it. The type of trade sizes you will be making will be huge, and buying and selling might be harder than as a retail investor with 1 million dollars, especially if you get into markets with low volume.

    • @rameshhansaravendra
      @rameshhansaravendra 3 года назад +1

      But if you can make it on your own, you don't need to charge management fees and you don't need to be part of any league!

    Hi Kejii! Thanks a lot for your video. I have a question. I am an undergrad and I don't have any commercial experience. I have made a cv full of learning projects (which are not so impressive btw) and I am wondering how can I compare myself with other applicants? (From US and Europe primarily) How do I find others resumes just to understand how good my one is? Thanks a lot =)

    Hola Kenji, muy interesante el vídeo, y se agradece mucho que personas como tú hagan este tipo de vídeos.
    Quería hacerte unas preguntas si no te molesta... Aplicaste a Goldman Sachs directamente desde EEUU? Lo digo porque sabemos lo difícil que es entrar en EEUU por la visa etc.
    Y mi otra pregunta es, crees que el hecho de que fuiste a Cornell fue un factor determinante en que te escogieran?
    Por ejemplo, yo comienzo mis estudios ahora mismo, pero tengo experiencia laboral en varios sitios, uno de ellos siendo una de las ingenierías más grandes del mundo, en la cual soy Team Leader.
    Crees que esta experiencia y tener un título en la Complutense (con excelentes resultados académicos) sería factible para aplicar a una empresa como Goldman Sachs?
    Muchas gracias!

    • @KenjiExplains
      @KenjiExplains  3 года назад

      Gracias! Si, aplique cuando estaba en Cornell (desde EEUU). Claro, ya tenia el visado adecuado.
      Si, ir a un "target school" puede marcar la diferencia junto a tu experiencia laboral y tus contactos (networking).
      No estoy seguro la verdad depende de muchas cosas pero aplicar tampoco te cuesta mucho vamos. Si que intentaria enfocarme en "networking" (hablar con gente que trabaja en los bancos) a ver si pueden destacar tu aplicacion.

      By actually studying haha. Didn’t care / had other priorities in HS but took things more seriously in university. Turns out it’s very much feasible to get good grades if you put in the work

      Yes I'm international. The process is the same just slightly harder I'd say. For tips, just the basics of getting the best grades possible, having a compelling reason to transfer and putting it into a nice essay...not many tricks to it unfortunately!
