ADDITIONAL REVIEW NOTES:
DESIGN
I like the boxy edges, but it does make the phone feel a bit larger
The corners may feel a bit aggressive until you get used to it
Improved over last year, with matching floating cameras for a cohesive flagship lineup
Some may say the minimal style is boring. I like it
I like the matte back. Less slippery
Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Armor Aluminum
IP68
6.6” super AMOLED
120Hz works really well
FHD+, but looks great
I was coming from the Pixel 7 pro, so the ultrasonic FP sensor is always great
Feels larger and moves around during setup
Fastest, most accurate, and most secure
Bezels
I always kind of liked curved displays, but this flat display is great because you can get a cheap tempered glass screen protector and it will never scratch
Starting at 256GB is nice. I migrated all my files and photos over when I set it up
Very fast performance
Overall a very familiar device, which is good. Subtle welcomed changes, while keeping the things that worked
PERFORMANCE
Fastest android chip on the market
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Samsung
Stepping away from Exynos
CAMERA TEST
A very familiar setup - not much new here
Now a 12MP selfie lens with autofocus
50MP Wide - Samsung claims to have improved the dynamic range by 4x
12MP Ultrawide
Unfortunately the ultrawide focus is fixed, so no macro mode
3x Optical
Up to 30x max digital zoom
Upgraded 12MP selfie lens - 4k60 capabilities
Excited to try out the night selfie portrait
Astrophoto
8K30 video without much crop
SPEAKER TEST
BATTERY TEST
Full battery at 9:20AM, 10min screen time
IMPROVEMENTS
Magsafe case from Peak Design
Reduce animations? Sometimes things feel slower
Change the wallpaper with each mode (work mode, etc)
Unlike the Pixel, I don’t enable the FaceID on samsung phones - it just isn't necessary
Switch to Google Messages to chat with other android users and receive iPhone reactions without annoying texts. Instead…
When you set up the phone, decline any apps you don’t need. This phone comes with some cluttering software
I can make a video about the top hidden features like object eraser, etc.
WHAT’s MISSING
Less camera hardware than ultra
No s-pen
Lower resolution display
If you like bigger phones, but not massive ultra phones, this is great.
They held their price constant over the past three years despite inflation, but competition has caught up. The pixel 7 pro has a better camera in my opinion and other advantages while costing $250 less. It’s a tough space, but if you like Samsung, this is a compelling buy.
If you buy it, I am confident you will like it. Personally, I will be sticking with my Pixel 7 Pro
Probably not worth upgrading from the S22+ or the Pixel 7 Pro

I've never seen a reviewer test out the camera quality in different social media apps, thank you!! I also didn't know that there were MagSafe compatible cases for android. I appreciate this review for the S23 the most out of the rest
I think it started with the 22 line. I saw a few cases on Amazon for the 22 plus that said magsafe
I've used mous cases for years. the newest ones are magsafe
Magasfe charging is useless on Android. Sooooo slow!
@@Truecrimeresearcher224 i have one for the s21 plus from aliexpress
@@Fozzee.1970 samsung wireless charging is 15 watts. iPhone is 7.5 watts or 15 with magsafe. Not exactly useless and if it's "slow" on Samsung, it's logically just as "slow" on iPhone's too.
3:49 tips from me: if you accidentally lowered the screen brightness till its too dark to see (especially when you're outside), just activate the assistant (either Google or Bixby) and sound command "set brightness to 50%"
Or "turn on auto brightness"
to activate you need screen visibility 😂
@@SoorajSuseelan10001 Long press power button would trigger Bixby
If you use swipe navigation bar, swipe and hold at the bottom center will trigger Google assistant
"hey I can't see"
@@emerge8Hey Google and Hi Bixby can be always on to activate by voice.
I bought my S23+ recently during pre-order with AT&T trade-in at no cost. Loving it so far. Got wireless charger and 2 official cases using pre-order promotions. Using Student discount, Rakuten & honey extensions, I was able to get an additional $300 back, so for buying this phone, Samsung paid me approx. $230 😅 after the tax.
you just won at life lmaoo
Shakal se chindi lag bhi raha hai
bro is getting paid for pre-ordering a brand new phone lol
what was your previous phone?
@@MathBesnos probably an s22+/ultra
So a heads up with the night selfie thing. The reason I would assume it does this blur effect you're getting is actually just a by product of how it works. Night mode works like long exposure photography. Essentially allowing the e-shutter to be "open" long enough for more light to hit the sensor, thus making the image brighter. And since shutter speed effects motion blur, you gain the blur because no matter how steady your hand is, the phone will still move slightly, so the light bouncing from your face to the camera is coming in a different angle which achieves this effect. I call this ghosting. So if u absolutely need to use that camera for night selfies then get a tripod. But for it to supposed to be used in this capacity it's definitely an oversight. I mean it's a phone. Normal people don't wanna take night selfies exclusively with a tripod lol. Also I am writing this on an S23+ and I am in the film industry. So I should know cameras or what in the world am I doing lol.
"Normal people don't wanna take night selfies" you could have stopped right there.
S10 to S23+ and I'm loving it. I watched your s23+ video from just before launch and it settled it for me. The battery life and performance are superb for me. Really enjoying this phone so far.
Theres nothing youre missing from the s10?
Same. It's a generational lap. I miss HR Sensor and Sp O2 Sensors from S10+. I didn't use WQHD+ in S10+ frequently, 1080P is still OK.
Same! S10 to S23+
It's been utterly phenomenal!
same! from S10 to S23, the only thing i miss is the headphone jack
Is that big size or same as s10 size?
Samsung convinced me this time. There's literally nothing missing from this device, maybe 12GB RAM could have been better. Other than that: perfect!
Memory card slot, maybe. at this point, I am used to with not having a 3.5mm headphone jack.
@@rafsanAhmed93 I've bought it with 512GB for the price of 256 on promo. And I no longer need 3.5mm jack. But yeah, good point.
8GB RAM on a phone is actually more than enough for most people. Samsung really makes S23+ the best all rounder phone this year with the removal of Exynos.
It's missing personality
@@b2bgood870 it's a phone for people who like to play it safe. It doesn't need a unique personality.
I got this phone on launch and it's my first Samsung phone/android flagship and I am loving it! Battery is great for my usage, design is elegant, gorgeous display, loud and clear stereo speakers, one ui is beautiful and fluid, performance is always smooth and fast and the cameras are so fun and versatile. Best HDR I saw on a smartphone. Tip: you can do macro with the 3x lens. It's just stunning!
Do you find the playback video volume is low? Cause i have to crank up my volume to almost max to hear my own recorded vids
@@sitiimanina sometimes yeah. It really depends on the video or place where I'm trying to watch it. I think it has something to do with the 360 audio. When you post on Instagram which is converted to stereo it sounds louder.
Edit: regular stereo. Cause the 360 is still 2 channel.
Hey was your phone affected by the banana blur issue?
@@greenfalcon1568 nope! But can you believe I lost my phone? The insurance replaced it for a S23 ultra! Haha I'm loving even more, specially now with the oneui 6.1 update and all the AI stuff.
@@reklavier talk about luck 🤣🤣. I'm happy for you, Enjoy ✌️
I went from S20+ to S23+ and found it to be a wonderful update. My first Snapdragon processor and I love it.
I traded in my Pixel 7 Pro for this phone. I like this one much better. The battery life (especially the idle drain) is much better than any other Android phone I have ever owned (and I have owned a LOT of flagship Android phones). I used to go straight for the Ultra every year, but I got tired of lugging that thing around and trying to fit it in places like my pocket or motorcycle cubby and I never used the S-Pen. While I'd love to have the zoom lens from the Ultra, this phone checks all of the other boxes for me.
Same here Willie 👍🏻
pixels have mediocre battery at best.
I just did the same. I was really underwhelmed from the Pixel Pro 7. The battery is a joke. The Samsung's are so much easier to use and to customize.
@@CthRage8946 you have almost a toxic negativity going on there. in reality, there are several very nice subtle upgrades to the S23 over the 22: improved ram, hd speed, gorilla glass, vapor chamber cooling, batt life, cpu speed, camera, carrier trade in deals, etc.
I'm tilting to the S23 since I got fed up with the massive size of the S21 ultra.
Watching from my S23+. Thank you for reviewing this phone! I'm very glad I switched from S21+ with the Exynos chipset.
I would love the hardware from the ultra in a phone shape and size like the s23 plus. That would be my perfect phone
Thanks for the detailed video, it's greatly appreciated as I feel like the "plus" model is so often overlooked and underrated by most tech RUclipsrs. I'm currently using the S21+ and very happy with the device. Guess I'll keep it a while longer until more significant changes are made.
Got the green version yesterday, so far so good. I like the feature of being able to long press on objects in photos and it pulls that object out of the photo, for sending or editing.
Lol. Thanks Apple
Ripped off from apple, but yeah, it's a good feature. Typical Samsung 😅
Nice tip, didn't even know about it
@@ArthropodSpidey lol, it's about time apple contributed something good to smart phones after copying android for so long. I would've thought this feature was from the pixels magic eraser though.
Thanks for showing the Plus some love!
I traded in my S21 Ultra for the S23+. I found that I rarely used the S-Pen "that I got separately" 🙄 & camera on the S21 Ultra & I prefer flat screens. You're right about screen protectors on flat screens. They're cheaper than the ones for curved screens & they're easier to put on.
So far I'm enjoying mine.
*Edited for those special people.
s-pen?
@Haile Tesfaye I don't really miss the QHD screen.
Stop lying, the S21 utra doesn't come with an S-pen
S21U doesn't have an S-Pen
@@sam4thdimension You could get one for it separately iirc, along with a case that would hold it
I'm really happy with my s23+. The Discover Innovation case is also nice because it has a sliding lens cover to protect the rear camera lenses.
I have a couple comments. First of all, I bought the S23 Ultra with a Mous magsafe compatible case and I'm loving it. Second of all I am also a Google messages user, and I love it that you pointed out that we can stick it to our Apple friends! Plus it really is the best messaging experience I've ever had.
Traded my 22 ultra for this 23+ in cream white and am loving it so far! 512gb storage option too
How does the screen compare? Is the lower screen resolution noticeable? Bc I'm on an s22 ultra, and the form factor and the better battery life of the s23 plus is calling my name lol
@@manleteater1970it is noticeable. Coming from s9+, it is very obvious. The only thing i am not happy with the phome.
Setup a battery drain comparison between the s23 and s23+ along with the 23 ultra.. that will create a clear cut understanding of which to prefer based on battery drain and charge based on a 25w supply.. Most people nowadays look at charging time first, battery drain is the secondary priority..
This suggestion is assuming people want to exclusively buy a Samsung device
Their battery life is about the same
+/- a few minutes on max. brightness and high load.
Yes ^^^ this
For the drain test i saw one and s23+ lasted 10hr and 40 min and s23 lasted 9hr and 10 min
I ordered this fantastic S23 Plus 3 hours ago.
Will be delivered tomorrow 😊
And now I have it,and after heave usage i can say it is a amazing device.
A little more boxy and the grip is perfect.
Camera's are spot on. Stereo speakers also spot on.
The screen is brilliant.
In fact, this S23 Plus is worth the money.
@@JB-1184 i have no problems with WiFi and my S23+.
I never had..
@@JB-1184 you're welcome 👍
@sisi-mee enjoy !
It's a perfect device with fantastic specs, battery life is amazing, camera's are spot on.
Very good choice because the S24 will not have the Snapdragon processor ánd it's not worth it to upgrade.
how is the screen? I got 23+ and the screen is hurting my eyes.. I can see pixels and the letters look blurred. I'm not sure if it's my eyes or the screen..
@@annadubasova1179 it's not the S23+ i think 🤔.
Try to set your device at Dark Mode..wich i do since many years at many devices.
Probably it works for you.
Ohw..and i have inside my house brightness at 20/30% maximum.
The day a phone reviewer says "Most sane people slap on a case anyways so how the phone looks naked really doesn't matter much" is the day that I know reviewers are actual reviewing a phone for actual usage and not just to make a video out of it 😂
I decided to get the S23+. A lot of people will say just get the Ultra because it's not that much more expensive ($250 more here in Canada). Even less of a big deal if you like to keep phones long term like I do. But it's still money that I don't find myself needing to spend. I agree that it's "worth it", but as someone who would never use the S-pen, it just didn't seem right to spend more for it (I know it's not the only thing you're getting but certainly the defining feature).
I had a note 20 and everyone said upgrade to an ultra. I used my s pen 6 times max in the time I had it. I'll buy an s pen if I want one since my 22 plus has support for it
You will use the Spen alot only if you live in a foreign country and don't understand thier language. S pen makes using Google translate easy..
I just bought this one too, and Im loving it. Just forget the Spen, this is better for pocketing and single hand ergonomics.
My only gripe with it is that they omitted the Sdcard slot.
I put my s23+ in "light" performance mode, and use game boost to crank it up while gaming. I'm getting 11-12 hr screen on time with no noticable performce degradation (messaging, web, email, slack, etc, all don't need lots of performance). Thats including, gaming, dex, slack, email, usual stuff, screen at 50% brightness
That's really good advice for most of the users.
Using the same tips for my S23, put in in "Light" performance on Indoor usage & even try keeping it on when going out. SD 8 Gen 2 in this little beast doesn't slouch even using it on "Light" performance
Thank you doing this video on Samsung S23 Plus, as many RUclipsr are only covering the Ultra.
I think the Plus is too similar to the normal S23, and should have features that should make it outstand it compare to the S23 or S23 Ultra.
1) It should have QHD Plus instead of FHQ Plus Screen.
2) It should have been £100 cheaper
3) The S23 and S23 Plus should come with SD Slot.
4) It's main Camera should have been 108 pixels from the S22 Altra
5) 512GB version should have 12 Ram instead of 8
If this phone had the same specs as the S23 Ultra, other than the shape and s pen, it'd be a best seller imo
Strongly agree on this one. That would have made it perfect
@@manleteater1970💯 my thoughts. We can pardon the camera & qhd display but they should add LTPO fhd+ I'm guessing this may happen with s24 series. For cameras they can reduce the main camera size like 108mp but should give try to give periscope lens.
I had bought the S22+ about 3 months ago, but I wasn't too happy with the battery. Over night, it would lose around 15-20% battery (without doing anything). With the launch discount, I ended up having to pay only like 20 or 30€ for the S23+ (with . Battery is perfect for me. I get around 4 days of battery life (my usage is definitely not that intensive. I don't use my phone for media consumption, except when I'm on the go, where I listen to audiobooks and such, but since I work from home, I tend to use my PC for media consumption). Really happy with the trade. :)
this is the comment I was looking for. I`ve been using my S22+ for 10 months and the only thing I hate is the battery life. I`m charging twice a day and that pisses me off
@@laylaaresende As soon as I saw the S23+ had a slightly bigger battery and a more efficient chip, and after seeing some tests, I decided to buy it. As I said, my usage isn't that intensive, bcs I sit infront of my PC most part of the day, but I get practically 4 days out of it. I was very pleased with that, to be honest. Charging twice a day would definitely make me crazy too. :/
@@laylaaresendeget s23 plus it's an amazing phone with great battery life!
I traded my S20+ in the the S22+ i ready got a good deal battery life could be better the bad news is if i only could have held off for a few months later i could have had the S23+ so yes i am disappointed in a big way I'm stuck with this device or i could pay it off and that would not be practical ! The S23+ is better than the S22+ for battery life for sure...
i bought also S22+, biggest regret, the phone overheat like a flat iron, massive lag when scrolling internet, apps like facebook wont open (blank page) need to charge the phone twice... maybe because of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.. hows your experience with S23+ compared to S22+?
I love my s23+. The only real issue I'm having is that my wifi will randomly drop - I think that started with the last software update and hopefully will be fixed with the next. Going from the 20+ with the edges to the 23+ flat was an adjustment, but so far so good!
How is the battery life?
My wifi drops a lot as well
@SuperKiko112 bro the battery life in UNREAL!!! If I don't watch RUclips, I get two days out of a charge easily.
@@GageTheMan I haven't had a single problem with it. But that's just my experience.
S23 WiFi drops too from time to time. Not frequently but happened. On adaptive screen I get 7 8 hrs of battery and I am very happy with the phone. Just after 67w chargers this is slow to juice up. But hey s24 needs to have something new too right
A detailed comparison between the S23/S23+ and the Pixel 7 Pro would be much appreciated!

One of the most beautiful well built phone Samsung has ever made🔥
My only complaint is the screen resolution. It's definitely not as sharp as my note 10 plus which I thought it would be considering how old it was.. but powerwise it's perfect for me and my games and the battery life is perfect as well!

This phone to me is absolutely the most stunning phone design wise of the last 10 years. Its stunning
After swearing up and down that I wouldn't trade in my 21 FE, a friend convinced me to upgrade and I tried the ultra at my tmobile store... even with my big hands it felt uncomfortable and that's what won me over with the + model, as I also felt the regular model was awkwardly smaller than I would like. Plus the increased storage and faster charging made the upgrade even more worth it!
Best chipset (no overheating issues), 45 watt charging, beautiful display, very capable cameras, Knox security, and so much more! I mean, what's to complain about?? 😉😉
S10+ user here. This video convinced me to get the S23+. Thanks!!
Just got the +. Going from a s10e the 23+, did your 10+ speakers seem louder?
I’ve found the colours over saturated from the rear camera and the contrast is way to high. Compare photos of colourful flowers outdoors against the real thing - the colours aren’t true to life. I hope they fix it in a software update.
I absolutely love this phone. I have S23 Plus. It's reminds me of Pixel 7 Pro that I upgraded too but better in my opinion. I then traded it in for this phone. I have outterbox on my S23 Plus. I know that this comment is 6 months old and I don't know if you still have the S21 FE, but you can turn temporary bright screen of for face-unlock. Did that on my S23+ because I use both the fingerprint scanner and face-unlock, saves many seconds of trying to see in my dim room at night!

you can get an even better life if you go into the battery settings and switch it to "low performace mode". I also switched my settings to max charge at 85% instead of 100% for better longevity battery life too.
Hey bro, I'm about to do the same (S9 to S23+) and I'm kind of worried about the size of the phone. How does it feels in the pocket? Is it comfotable? I like big screens but not brick like phones. Have a nice day.

3 weeks usage, and i can't complain about my s23 plus! Snapdragon 8gen2 is the real no bs 😤 💯 amazing battery life and performance in general.
@mesut4243 7-8 hours sot on 120hz with 5g enabled, without dark mode!
@mesut4243 I don't like ultra design because I was never a fan of note series. The ultra model itself is heavy and uncomfortable to hold on hand. Also, the s22 series are famous for their horrendous battery life! Get s23 ➕️ model it's the sweet spot!
@mesut4243 The ultra model has a better performance without a doubt, Zoom is a lot better and video quality. But for regular users, it's not a big deal.
If the S22+ is anything to go by, the screen resolution is just too low for the display size. I bought an S22+ last year and put it alongside my S10, and it looked so much worse than the S10. I sent it back. I didnt make the same mistake this year and just bought that S23, which is awesome. Until they increase the screen resolution on the Plus size models Im not going to touch them
The s23+ resolution is definitely a downgrade. I am comimg from s9+
Idk if its because i have a s23 or because im in europe, but my rear camera pictures dont look the same as shown in the video. My camera often struggles to take sharp pictures in detail whereas the background is always oversaturated. Also, the battery life is really bad, almost as bad as my previous s9 phone (4 years of usage). Does anyone know whats wrong, or is it normal?
i have exactly same problem with my s23 plus. always noisy pictures, also videos are not smooth. and it did not fixed with software updates. i do not think it is normal, because i shot same pictures with my s20 FE and compared them in computer monitor. unfortunately s20fe pictures are always had better detail. i shipped phone to the samsung service but they found nothing. i will apply for refund next. samsung turned a total disappointment for me
I bought the S23+ and had to return it. Everything about the phone was great. The deal breaker was the camera. I tried every setting to get clear pictures. The pictures were OK at first glance. A closer look showed a blurring problem. I did some research and found out many others are having the issue. My old S9+ produced sharp in focus photos. My S23 Ultra produces clear photos. Yes, it costs more, but a flawed camera isn't good. Hope others don't have this issue with the S23+.
Yes this bugs me to no end. I have the samsung s10e and I just cannot anymore. But I tried the iphone 12 pro max. Loved the camera and video. But I cannot deal with being unable to access all the files on my phone. Things are just hidden and not as accessible on an iphone compared to how much I can do with my files on a samsung. Thankfully I do not need to take a TON of selfies on samsung s23 plus, as long a videos are comparable then it will be fine enough for me. God Bless you in Jesus' name.
i like the s23 but im afraid to buy it and get the banana blur issue
@greenfalcon1568 I would avoid the S23. Try for the S23+... I don't like paying for the Apple brand name. So I'll never have an iPhone. The new iPhone has lower picture quality than the S23+. Many articles ban be found on this issue.
I don't know whether I should list 42 one ui software bugs and issues here which I found in the first month of using s23 Ultra myself but I believe if people want to appreciate how good the hardware is, I would probably point out how solid the software is or can be. That way, it can deliver the feel of the phone to others apart from the picture and battery quality in my opinion. It might encourage the company to fix the issues if they are willing to through the reviewers with high subscribers as yours . I am saying this because I want to appreciate this phone as much as others but can't due to the fact that the most reviews are pure advertisements.
5:42 why did u not get the free upgrade to 512 GB ? I bought it in pre order and got 512 GB for the price of 256 GB

If the same price as the Pixel 7 pro, would you get the 23+? I'm wondering whether you'd mis the 7pro AI features like unblur, AI text to speech, gAssistant, and the other 7pro tensor AI type tricks etc. I'm trying to choose which is best to buy as I'm attracted to the 7pro.
Also many reviewers prefer the photo aesthetic on the 7pro, skin tone etc.
I have a broken S21 but it's £250 upfront for the repair haha :(
Your reviews are a bit shorter than Flossy's (!) but nowadays you're the only two I watch.
Flossy has a brain the size of an insect
I'm always a Samsung consumer and I absolutely love the s23+
I wish the lavender or purple on the next S Series would be more on bluish tone, or I hope they would release something pastel blue
Just buy a lavender case because you 100% cant see the factory color anyways. If you're not using a case, just slap yourself 2-3 times until you get over the absurdity of not putting a $12 case on a $1,000 phone to protect it from inevitable drops. Have friends & relatives repeat this process until it sinks in.
Get a lavender skin and a clear case to go over it. You're welcome.
Great review of this phone. I'm currently on the Pixel 7 Pro and I came from the S22 plus last year. I had bad battery life and shutter lag on that phone so I traded it in for the Pixel. I'm very tempted to pay off my Pixel and trade it in for the S23 plus. I'm a bit apprehensive to do so because I don't want to have a repeat experience on the S23+. Is there a noticeable difference in performance between this and the Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro as far as camera lag? I will miss macro mode on my Pixel but I can live without it. I think the smaller S23 is just too small for me. I do miss a flat screen though.
Great review as always. Have purchased the S23+, had it for a week now & just love it . Pricey yes but if you want the best you pay for the best. Again thanks for your review.
what about qhd tho
@@haile_tesfaye it’s sharp enough u won’t notice
@@Teck90ful you fr? coz am thinking of trading the oneplus 10 pro for it
@@Teck90ful there have been some complains with users thats why am having doubts
Hw is battery life
3:56 no, it goes down to 48hz! Only the s23 ultra can go down to 1hz.
thank you so much! I too have ordered mine and I'm waiting for it. you said in the video you can't test the astrophotography, so this gave me hope cause as far as I saw the astrophotography was only in the ultra version, so is it not? is it also available on the plus?
What is your opinion on putting a case on a phone and glass on screen? Specifically, on the galaxy s23. Do you use one? Do they really offer better protection for the phone? I use an otterbox commuter series and was wondering what you think?
They 100% offer protection.
An even moderately rugged case will almost always save the phone from damage due to accidental, standing height drops.
I've loyally been using the spigen rugged armour myself on a couple phones I've used, and the confidence it gives when dropping the phone is amazing to other people.
Could you do a social media camera comparison against the pixel 7 and the iphone 14 please?
Samsung just needs to add that extra camera to the plus model and I would take it over the ultra everytime. I also wish the resolution was higher. I know they say the average person cant see the difference FHD and QHD, but I think it's pretty noticable when looking at text.
Maybe my eyes are just bad but I can't tell the difference imo. I do agree they should add it though, considering the price of the phone
omg please no more camera port holes. they already look like the face of a spider watching you with multiple eyes
Hi Mike,
I would really enjoy watching a video in which you compare and contrast the modems in each phone you review. The P7P has Samsung's Exynos 5300 5G while the S22 line up had Qualcomms X65 modem, and the S23 line up has the new Qualcomm X70 modem. I feel like too many phone reviews focus on camera specs, which is great but most are marginal in comparison, compared to the lack of information in reviews regarding the telephony performance of a phone. As carriers in the US have retired old 3G towers in leiu of LTE and 5G towers, folks like me who live in rural areas have connectivity issues that may only present on a certain type of phone, the S21 line or P7P vs not dropping a call with a S22 or S23 Nd x65/x70 modem. There really aren't any reviewers looking into testing this other than LTT but they aren't up and running. Even a casual review would be huge and imo draw more engagement from phone nerds who are tired of hearing about how great the scumbag zoom is or the influencer camera looks in pictures.
Well thanks for this review. I'll be updating to the 23+ tomorrow, my "old" one is a S20FE so it's time to update again 😊
My favorite reviewer keep it man 👍 if this phone had a 12 gb ram it would have been my phone.
I've upgraded from A52s to S23 ultra it was a huge jump and totally worth upgrading. ❤
I have the S23 Ultra and many other S series and i only got the A53 to test mid range. Definetely hate the lag on it.
Currently rocking a standard Galaxy s8, really thinking about getting this phone as my next three to Five-Year plan phone. Thanks for the video and info
too late now sucka, you also missed out on the pre-order discount and the free 256gb upgrade. might as well wait to pre-order the S24 at this point
@@srobeck77 lol. I want the 512 and don't wanna the updates are too frequent to care about
@@TommyGunzzz the 512gb was discounted and too. and as far as "frequent phone updates" ya bruh, your stuck like 6 or 7 years in the past. So these are major, not minor updates in your case by everyones standards. Year to year or 2 years max, then ya they are only minor updates.
@@srobeck77 Right thats my point, since its a major upgrade from like 6 years ago, anything i get is going to be fine if i got a s23 or s24 lol. I dont imagine the s24 being much better and itll be more expensive and it comes out February/March, 2024*, you think i should just wait a year lol?. The pre order discount isnt that much. i appreciate your sassy enthusiasm lol though, havent met someone so passionate about this in a comments section.
@@TommyGunzzz very odd self-defense mechanism you got going there to defend your boomer phone. U do you, boo. As halfassed as it is, you go for it if that twinkles your toes.
Cant leave my S21+... The designs crazy and the S22+ next its too close..
Gonna wait till an S29+/ultra😅
Been rocking the s10e for yrs lol, might be time to upgrade
Uhhh, it would have helped if you put up on the screen which the two phones were you were showing side-by-side at the beginning🤔?
Just ordered it!! Excited for the upgrade from my dinosaur s9!
What is the curvy tabletop stand you have shown?
@8:27 subtle lens switch? ummm I disagree. There should be no jump / jitter or colour shift and that exact reason is why I returned my Samsung ( I zoom in and out all the time in my art process vids) and am looking at iphone 14pro instead. I did try the pixel7 and while a better camera experience the UI isn't great and the bar on the back drove me nuts.
Good S23+ review. Are people still making a big deal when folks get messages between Android and iOs? I feel across the board these reviews are very nitpicky in 2023. Folks are expecting way to much from a mobile device. Then again, phones are $1000+ so I understand as well.
Just this phone yesterday... The experience is exactly the same as my s10 plus
does this have green line problem that seem to have plagued a lot of samsung devices?
Im planning on switching my samsung s21 phone with the samsung s23+ and these videos im watching on the phone really help change my mind on wanting to keep my samsung s21 phone. Because now im wanting to replace it with the newer phone s23+ its hard thing to do if your attached to the phone its self. Thank you for this video!
Nice video mate. How do you find the weight management of the phone?
Finally found my people😊😊😊S23+ user here. Same colour ❤❤❤
Hi there so I currently have the Samsung Galaxy a73 5g I'm thinking about going for the Samsung Galaxy s23+ which phone would you say has a better selfie camera
Upgraded from s10e.
Amazing battery. Display impressive brightness.
Only issue I'm having is the post processing on the mainly the 50mp images which have artifacts. Looks better in the viewpoint then post makes some images poor.
Note: the artifacts arnt consistant. Camera is very impressive, found lowering the brightness in the viewport gets better daylight/bright images.
Went from s9 to s20 now to s23 plus. Best phones ever. Practically indestructible. My t mobile service is always lighting quick besides random rural areas. Use it to shave in the shower with the camera. Galaxy phones or nothing
Are we on the same trend with phone? I had an S9, and now I have an S20 and about to get the S23+ myself.
Finnaly somone is covering s23 +
just got mines comes in tomorrow got the green I can't wait going from a s20 excited
hey how is the camera? any blurring?
@greenfalcon1568 yes the have a setting for that camera is amazing especially with the update they did if your going to switch from Apple to Samsung it's a smart move just have to get used to a phone that allows you with alot of freedom for settings and ability
s23ultra better cameras and S-pen but bulky and curved display is a big downwards for me
S23 is good but a bit small for me and battery compromised
S23+ is overall a good phone though we dnt get the top of the line cameras and Spen but still My choice in the s23 line
Hope the s24 series minimises the bezels even more... like mi14
I'm more satisfied with plus series, it's suite me best the way i use my phone. I don't need better camera or s pen, size is comfortable.
Upgrading from a Galaxy A20. . . will miss the rounded edges tho.
but will not miss the 32gb storage. . .
How did you survive with only 32gb of storage ??
Thank you mike you helped me to take my decision as you make everything clear.
I have an s10, where the home screen can rotate to landscape if toggled on. Did that feature carry over to the s23 4 years later?
Just tried it and no :(
@@grimez56964so it's actually no improvement?
Thank you so much! This helped A LOT with my decision so seriously, thank you!
I have had galaxy phones since s2, and my wife even had the S. I just traded out of my s20 ultra for the s23+. I considered the s23 ultra, but it seems to me like, a bit much. I was perfectly happy with my s20 and the only reason I had for switching was that we changed carriers, and it was very cheap to trade in and upgrade. I've had thus phone for maybe a week and a half now. The only difference I notice is that I have a little more trouble taking a good picture with this than I did with the s20 ultra. The sound on the s23+ is better. If I hadn't changed carriers I wouldn't have paid full price for this phone, it isn't much of an upgrade, it just feels... the same.
Excellent commentary. Clear, coherent and accurate observations, thank you, Ted. Do you think it would make a good podcast phone for videos to be downloaded to my youtube channel. Regards, T.
loves minimal design..
But why's a galaxy flagship designed like the A series?
In certain lights could see the fingerprint reader through the screen..thought it was a defect so sent it back and received my replacement and yep visible on that one too...really off putting seeing it
I like this video, but i would even more if it had chapters ;-)
Just upgraded to this phone & the battery, my God, it's not dying & love the camera as well
Was anxious to use this phone for cinematic video. However I find that there are no compatible filter Mounts for this phone. Can't get the highest quality video withou them. If you know where I can get them please let me know. Thanks.
