      3D puzzles were almost my exclusive build back in my younger years (mainly 1995 - 2001...) Probably had at least 30, but they took up so much space, especially the original big ben (1500pc) and star destroyer, so I had to give up many them. I still have a dozen in storage and hope one day to find a few more on sale when I can buy a place of my own. The imperial star destroyer, Opera house, and London tower bridge were my most challenging ones just due to the curves and shear size.

      Never had any out for long enough to get dusty, but it was always a concern of mine. Debated on making acrylic custom boxes if I do make room for them again.

      Right? My siblings were both almost a decade older than me and we never had anything in common, never did much together. We were always in such different places in life that I mostly felt like an only child. I would have loved a sibling closer to my age with a relationship like this. I now have two girls very close in age and I hope they grow up to have a relationship like this!

    As a kid in the mid-late 90's I convinced my parents to buy the Empire State Building Puzz3D. I quickly became overwhelmed and didn't complete it. I did, however, give it to my grandparents. I remember they enjoyed doing puzzles. I have no idea of they ever did it or not. I just remember thinking "how hard could it be?" ... yeah, hard, when every single piece looks EXACTLY the same.

    I will say that some of the Star Wars ones are interesting from a perspective of just construction. I got the Millennium Falcon one, and there are so many tapers and both the top and bottom are sort of domes, and there isn't a flat bottom, so it beyond the licensed aspect, they're interesting to just build.

    I remember my grandfather solving Puzz3d puzzles in their basement. I have some fond memories of teasing him about knowing where the next piece goes before he did. I actually recognize one or two of the puzz3ds in this video as ones that I recall him solving.
    Tbh, I think he is a big part of the reason I enjoy puzzling as much as I do. In the last couple of years (since he passed) I have started doing more 3d puzzles because it brings up those memories. I might start looking for one of the puzzles he had just for that reason.
    This was such a cool collection to see though! Thank you for sharing! (And for a trip down memory lane!!)

    I have considered trying some (not necessarily branded) but so far I haven't figured out where I´d put them when finished. Maybe I'll try some of the small ones.
    Nice work on reorganizing, looks ready for some strategic led lighting, especially the city themed like New York and Scale series (I guess the glow in the dark "feature" has mostly faded by now?). Puzz3D puzzles I've done...
    * Neuschwanstein/Bavarian Castle
    * R2D2
    * The Capitol
    * Millenium Falcon
    The castle was my first puzzle. I bought it for my dad for a Christmas or birthday present. He tried to put it together, but said it was too complicated for him, and he gave it back.
    I assembled it during a long Christmas to New Year's vacation. I put on my new Elton John album, Made in England, on repeat, and started it. I worked THROUGH the night and into the next day. I want to say it was over 24 hours, but I'm not sure.
    I was so satisfied and proud once it was finally finished. It's a gorgeous model.

    I love puzz 3d's! My favorite of mine is the U.S. Capitol. It wasn't difficult to put together but I did it in 3 days, had it displayed for another 3 days and then my then 8 week old kitten, who is now a 15 year old cat, went Godzilla on it! Just imagine a tiny black cat standing on the roof of the Capitol! And the roof actually held for a few seconds! He took the dome down in one paw swipe. Then jumped over the fallen dome to cave in the opposite roof. I have pictures of the whole thing, if it hadn't been so adorable I would've been furious. But I just fixed it and now I smile and remember that every time I look at it. At the time we had been trying to think of a name for our new kitten but that incident decided it for us. His name is Monster.

    How nice to see Katie again! I was given the Titanic many years ago. It's also double-sided, & I was very impressed with the level of detail. Greetings from Czechia, where skyscraper is mrakodrap!

    Loved this! I especially loved Katie's spreadsheet. I'd love to hear more about how she created the proportional shapes, as I think it'd be pretty handy for organizing all kinds of large collections. Skyscraper

    Pa Puzzles is already eyeing those shelves for anvil expansion.
    I thought Katie was brave when she did the Tower walk, then she dissed Star Wars fandom and I realized she’s wildly reckless!

    idk what's the etiquette on commenting an over one year old vid i hope it's not rude or weird
    but !! that video is so cool !!
    love the collection! and the spreadsheet! and your interactions in the vid !! thank you
    glad that katie gave us a presentation of her collection
    (and it was funny to see the notre dame one with its spire, it dates it as being made before 2019)

    I also did the St Mark's Basilica puzzle as a child (teenager maybe?). Those paper domes are horrendous - I could never get them nicely in place. I loved it so I kept it together but it is a terrible dust collector. It is still sitting (partially in ruins) in my mother's house. So fun seeing your sister's collection. 👍

    I had the Cinderella's Castle Puzz 3D when I was about 10... my cat got ahold of it and chewed holes in it. I also didn't fully understand how to put them together. So alas, it was destroyed and ended up in the bin. This would have been back in like, the mid 1990s. I've grown up to regret not realizing what a treasure that puzzle was and I know I'd love to have it now.

    Using a "Swifer"Sweeper"will clean off the dust really well. I use it to clean older silk flower displays with great efficacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I wish that the St Mark’s Basilica puzzle were double sided - the inside of that building is one of the most magnificent things I’ve ever seen. I’m very impressed by you and your sister’s organisational abilities, although I confess that I quail somewhat seeing all the buildings relocated to very stable shelving that still offers no protection from dust whatsoever! At least while the skyscrapers are pretty tricky to put together, their regularity of shape makes them a little easier to clean!

    My mum gave my the puzz3D Cinderella Castle when I was 7 (in 1999-ish, I think?). She had to help me build it though. But we found in a house with 2 teenage boys, no 3D puzzle was safe, so we eventually had to pack it up. But it sat out for a good 2 weeks.
    She had a house and one other, which she also built around the same time, but which met the same fate as my castle. We still have them. just haven't put them together since.
