For those that "GET" this movie. Its a F********* masterpiece to me. Everyone of the few that have watched this know this scene and what it means. This is up there in my top 10 of classic scene's to have ever happened. I remember watching this the very first time and this left me gutted. Garcia is amazing and Christopher lloyd was the MAN here. Brilliant !!!
Simply one of the best scenes in one of the best films ever... such an under-rated movie - great story and characterisations, great acting, great music ...... perfect ingredents of an all-time classic
Everyone mentionin Lloyd great performance, but Garcia's performance really makes me cry... jesus look at his eyes... ONLY TRUE MAN can understand his eyes here. BOAT DRINKS my brothers, nevermind where you from... BOAT DRINKS to you all... see ya there.
i love all the mafia gangster movies but i cant see past this as a gangster film. Its just sensational. Touching, funny, harsh, brutal and packed full of lines to quote. The acting is top notch too.
i watched this so many times on vhs that i know every word to this movie. this is my favorite scene. Lloyd and Garcia have an impeccable onscreen chemistry. I completely buy it. I even buy Lloyd's character magically pulling out that hat like some kinda perverted Willie Wonka. God, what a great movie
Wow. I watch this brilliantly acted, brilliantly scored, beautifully-written scene that actually moved me quite a bit... and then I had the stupid notion to glance down at the comments. Jesus Christ, people! Don't you guys have anything better to do than throwing your weight around?
Next to the birth of my kids, the four months I spent working on this in '93ish, are some of my fondest memories... What a crew, what a cast, and (pardon me, as pulp - merely shock shit - doesn't hold a candle to this), what a family we became!!! So you "film geniuses" know (and yeah, I have my 1.75 degrees), pulp is superficial, where as Denver has incredible character study, and developement! Both great casts, but pulp is Corman fodder.. Keep trying to blow Tarrentino, you SC film whizzes!
Always makes me cry man... especially teary eyes of Garcia here... only TRUE MAN understands...and: BOAT DRINKS MY BROTHERS around the world, BOAT DRINKS... See you there my brothers nevermind where you from... see you there.
This is one of the best Gangster/Crime movies of all time and hardly anyone knows bout it, it was just unlucky to come out the year when seven, usual suspects, heat, get shorty, clockers, dead presidents...come out.
@TommyDee78 i think yes, because he was describing things others only dream about, and his life was complete at this point, he was sick and dying anyway just my thoughts
Thanks Mr. Jimmy Buffett Boat drinks Waitress I need two more boat drinks Then I'm headin south fore my dream shrinks I gotta go where it's warm I gotta go where it's warm I gotta go where it's warm!
BOAT DRINKS my brothers across the world I dont even know, but I know you and you know me... you know what I mean... so: BOAT DRINKS my brothers... BOAT DRINKS.
Way to reply to a post in a mature and sensitive manner, Johnny Contagious. Swearing. Ooh, colour me intimidated. I'm not sure why the film offended you so much, but I think you may need to rein yourself in just a touch. The stars that loved this script, that got involved, said the script said something important. Probably more important than anything you have to say.
Just saw this... fuckin terrible movie. All these great actors with decent acting and a GARBAGE plot. I mean it's shocking how you can have so much talent and completely squander it.
+TheSoulTwins Hey, don´t be so harsh on the guy... his comment clearly shows that he never had respectively lost a real friend or loved one in his life! No wonder he doesn´t get a movie about such things... ;)
Quite possibly the worst American gangster film of modern cinema. A shabbily compiled series of poorly written vignettes with the most contrived dialogue in living memory - the manifestation of one of Tarantino's least interesting farts. This pales in significance to the film's biggest conceit: a bewilderingly arrogant attempt to elicit sympathy for a collection of characters who are unprecedented in their worthlessness. Give it a name? How about Ritchie-esque film-geek wankfest?

The cast is brilliant and they all really make their characters something special imo
A beautiful scene, brilliantly portrayed,in one of the best movies i've
been fortunate enough to have seen..Bravo!
This is Christopher Lloyd's finest moment.
He's just awesome anyway. Andy Garcia is too here
Agree 💯
He’s had many of them, this is one of them for sure

This is one of the best scenes in any movie. Great acting and music score. They blend perfectly.
i love all the mafia gangster movies but i cant see past this as a gangster film. Its just sensational. Touching, funny, harsh, brutal and packed full of lines to quote. The acting is top notch too.
I live my life by this. When it's all said and done we did the things Jimmy!

God, what a great movie
This film and The Way Of the Gun are 2 of the best and most criminally underrated crime films ever made.
If you're old enough to remember Christopher Lloyd from Taxi, you know that this was his best work .
I even put this ahead of Back To The Future which says a LOT.
Watch Nobody. Just as good in its own way regarding the role he played.
I loved the fact that when the assassin came for him, he killed him quick because he didn't run.
He also got up and walked after him, forcing it to be fast. Then in the film Twenty Bucks Lloyd kills Buscemi.
Boat drinks, guys and girls. Boat drinks. BTW, this is my favorite scene in the movie and probably one of the single best moments of Lloyd's career.
the best when i think this film!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The music is beyond most things!
And thankfully, the film itself is wonderful!
So inexplicably underrrated! :P
THE FILM WAS '' EXCELLENT '' and everyone I know agrees, brilliant acting all round
I concur
