Anika continues to grow beautiful. So many milestones achieved. Wonderful to see bonding with her grandmother, Dear Johanna is doing a marvellous job of being mummy to Anika. So relieved Anika recovered from her illness. The filming is so professional and enjoyable to watch. As you say, Johanna, enjoy those precious moments with your family.❤️
Sorry to hear Anika was and glad she’s feeling better. It’s so nice to see you are enjoying time with her grandparents. Hopefully Daddy will return soon. Take care and all be safe and healthy!! 🙏🏻
I am so happy to hear that Annika ha recovered from being ill. As a parent, I totally understand what you went through Johanna. I just adore Annika. She went through so much, but her resilience is amazing. Please give her a big hug and kiss from me. I am thinking of you, precious Annika.💕💕🥰🥰🤗🤗
Lord, what tough time you went through. I never can imagin what ot feels like to be a Mom. God is great and so is Annika, a good fighter. Annika, Love and blessings to you sweetheart..!!
So glad Annika is recovering well. She'll be back to her joyful little self in no time. Thankfully Johanna you had Vinod's family with you. Get well soon Annika.❤🌷
Awwwe..was waiting for your vlog but wasn't expecting this..Annika is a source of happiness for so many..she is a bundle of joy an cuteness..May God bless her with health and happiness..Annika is a precious child ❤❤
I completely understand the emotions a mother goes thru when her child is unwell. I remember feeling so anxious and frightened when my daughter used to call sick when she was a young child. The feeling of helplessness hits one so badly. But children are resilient and bounce back to their usual self soon. Am so happy to see Annika feel better and enjoying her rest of the vacation with her dada and dadi. Take care 🤗
Yes it’s very frightening indeed to feel such helplessness and especially when you cant even fully trust the medical professionals around you 🥺 I hope we don’t face such situations again, since I’d be a nervous wreck about any hospitals.. but you’re right that usually kids are so so resilient, much more than we anxious grownups even give them credit for!
I hope she's doing okay? I remember how sick I used to get growing up in India... then once we came to the US... I went back during a summer vacation and got really sick from a lethal sort of virus... it completely felled me. Luckily, my aunt took care of me (my mom's sister, an amazing woman) as my parents were back in the US at the time... I was almost semi-conscious for about a week or 10 days. Once I recovered though, I felt wonderful. It was as if my body had beaten the virus and my immunity was now adjusted. Annika will get sick again, but she will grow stronger each time... and Johanna, pls don't apologize for your beautiful videos! They have a poetic, meandering quality that suits your environment which IS the reason I love them.
Sorry to hear that Annika was unwell in Jaipur during winter. Thank God Johanna that you were with Dada and daadi during her recovery period 🙏 Love to all of you
I'm so relieved to know that Annika has fully recovered Johanna, as you mentioned previously, but it's heartbreaking just the same to think of her going through such a concerning illness. It's been a few months passing now so I hope there's no residual effect of the infection, whatever that may have been. Please give a big warm hug to my little darling from uncle Blair. 💋❤. Love to you all.
When I see your videos, It makes me wanna be a mom. I’m in my early 30s and It’s never something I’ve thought about. I love the way you parent. Lots of love to your family ❤️
Don’t ever feel pressured that you’d HAVE TO be a mom. 😊 You’ll have a full life nevertheless, but if you think about thoroughly and end up deciding motherhood would be a truly great thing for you, then I’m sure you’d make a good mom too! I only decided in my very late 20s just before meeting Vinod that having a child would be something I want in my future if possible 😊
Oh Gosh Johanna I was ever so sorry to hear about the meds. You must have been worried sick bless you and also bless lil Annika for being so poorly and needing to be in hospital awwwwwww. I'm so glad that the online mums group helped you to evaluate that the meds were not correct and another parent was able to assist you. It must have been very scary for you. I'm so glad that is all over now. And thanku very much indeed for showing us Annika when she was better and for also showing us all the YUMMY food. Namaste and Blessings Kas ❤🕉️❤🕉️❤🕉️❤🕉️❤🕉️❤
It was indeed very very scary, if not the most scary experience in my life. Thank goodness for modern day life and internet to be able to get advice and of course also have at least some contact with Vinod through the whole ordeal! 👏😅❤️
Annika's infection cud hv been one of the winter viruses which r not only very contagious during winter season, it can leave one quite debilitated. Dadi's dhall gravy n vege mooli has stirred up her appetite...what a delight to see Annika waiting for her meal 😊. V glad to see her recovered n exploring her environs.Nd speaking Hindi, going bilingual! Nice support for both of you frm Dadi n Dada during this harrowing time.Take care n Stay safe all! 🙏🏼 💟
Whatever the infection was, the initial medication made her worse :/ She didn't really eat for a week, so she was even hungrier than usual for dadi's ghar ka khana afterwards! Oh, and she's actually trilingual; she speaks English, Finnish and hindi :)
@@JohannaNorth oh a pity, wrong meds can cause havoc. Poor child 😘. Nvr mind, Annika is doing well now. I did wonder if she cud well be trilingual. Well done little girl 👏🏼.
When and if Vinod needs to go for longer work trips where we aren’t able to join him, i dont like the idea of being home alone with Annika precisely because of possible situations like this which is why we had travelled to Jaipur while Vinod was away 😊❤ better to be with loving grandparents!
I feel very sorry for Annika. It's age for infections. She has to go through the ordeal. Part of growing up and getting stronger, she was back normal, I amvery glad. She had dadi and Dada to take care of her.
Yes, you’re absolutely right. I think it’s perfectly normal and natural to get lots of infections until about 10-12yrs old and I don’t worry much about infections per se. Getting those is good for the body’s immunity in the long run like you said 😊 It’s just that we weren’t getting proper care initially which made it absolutely horrifying..
I’ve been trying to avoid using the word traumatic in the video or comments, but yeah it would be quite an accurate wording! I’m not sure if I’ll ever be willing to let Vinod go for longer work trips ever again, if Annika gets really sick and i have to navigate the situation and especially the medical care here in India without him 😬
@@JohannaNorth God forbid such a situation should ever arise again but even if not to handle the medical situation, just to have the moral and emotional support is so important. Mom's are so emotionally invested in their babies that is makes it almost impossible to see them in any kind of discomfort and clouds our rational mind so it helps to have a voice telling us, "it's okay, everything will be fine". Sometimes that's all one needs to hear. I hope you never have to go through anything like this again. ❤
This is another one of those brilliant gems, ordinary life in a positive mood. Today we eat a vegetarian thali to celebrate a birthday and then of course dream to travel to India again. How good is it there.
I remember how scared we used to get when our daughter was tiny and got sick in the middle of the night, in ER, now she is 30 and a doctor herself .. so these are all growing pain .. you will look back one day😍
We’ve had quite a few ER runs in the middle of the night with Annika too, especially when she was still a little baby 😊 who knows, maybe she’ll want to become a doctor too (and if she does, better become better than the doctor who prescribed her with too much medication! 😅)
Hello Johanna, I have a 5 year old daughter who really loves to watch Annika's videos. She frequently asks me if Annika's video came😅 Love to you both.
Oh that's so sweet! And I actually hear it a lot from other parents too :) My sister even shows videos of Annika to the kids in her daycare and they love watching too! Lots of hugs to your little one
I wish Vinod had been there though. With the language challenges it can get pretty confusing sometimes for the rest of us when he’s not translating and i didnt feel like i was listened to at different clinics 😕 but otherwise it was of course good to have helping, loving hands!

Johanna this is a bit random, but I remember you mentioning the possibility of homeschooling Annika? Do you have some ideas on how that's going to work out?
I wasn't initially that concerned about the fever and infection, because like you said it's a natural part of being a kid and building your immunity. But the side effects to her treatment were the really scary part, because I'm quite used to being able to trust doctors and not really question their treatment plans :/ Yes, I did consider homeschooling, and maybe at some point in the future when Annika is much more grown up and independent, but for the foreseeable future I don't see it really working out if I want to be able to work on my own thing too, so I think she's going to be going to at least a play school part-time when she becomes eligible :)
