Have you done any videos on proper combination shots the whys and why nots, mostly the 95-60 with two darts for people who are not capable of forcing Triples?
Great video Matt, I used to use kites but altered my throw a little and they no longer suited me moved onto a no6 standard and now L-Style so now happy with my sey up and finally found my match darts

I should add my right or throwing shoulder was replaced.
Using pears now matt, pretty happy with the results. Hit a 14 darter the other day and running between a 58 and 65 average, up from around a 50 to 52 average about 4 or 5 weeks ago.

Peter says that he was really comfortable with the slim flights ln the practice board.
But on the stage after a few legs he realises that they are not working for him
on stage. ( heat on the stage / they fly strange he said... )
Good point about the weight training. Was wondering if I started training again will it affect my darts. Was working out a couple of years ago after I hit 40 and was massively over weight. Only did it for 5 month and at the end my best bench press was 122.5kg and I had lost 3 stone in weight. The other thing you need to consider is how much your grip strength improves when lifting weights. I was also straining my grip as well, but when at my strongest I could fully close a 200lbs gripper with each hand. when I couldn't do it at all with my strongest hand before when I first started. So a change in grip strength may have an affect on a darts throw? Let me know what you think?
I 'lost my throw' 2-3 years ago, lots of practice during all these lockdowns and its slowly starting to come back :D feels good to be playing decent again
Yeah practice will 100% help with the timing and the release.
Weights will 200% ruin your darts game. Your miwclesbtighten in your arm and you just cramp up. Sadly if you like weights it's either be a pro darter or lift weights I don't think you can do both.

@@Edgartvdarts see how much mass he's lost though since his pro debut. Same with boxers they don't train chest as it drags the arms down which obviously they don't want to do. It would be great if you could do both but in my experience it will only ruin your game.
@@robertreader6539 You are absolutely right! I noticed that he lost so much mass since he started playing World class.
I also remember an Interview with gezzy when he was saying that he quit the weighttraining cause its not good for his muscle memory!
When you are really in weight training
especially with your triceps in push training, you are not able to throw darts like you normaly do.
I know that strange feeling.
So i had to choose weight lifting or darts.

I started using a John Lowe type dart and the kites are perfect for them. Felt weird at first coz no matter what dart I threw I always used standard flights and intermediate stems but using the kites, I didn’t have to change my throw. Good luck Matt!

Hi. I'm just putting this out there but I've looked just about everywhere and I've never found anyone (of your ilk) that's done a comparison of stems/shafts (based on thickness). Length, yeah, material, yeah but not by how thick they are. If your not doing anything in the coming months, maybe you could give this a go. Keep up the good work mate.

Thanks for doing these equipment/flight analysis videos. Very helpful. I've noticed changes in my throw, since I have started conditioning to get back to playing outfield in baseball (impacting core, arm, shoulder and back muscles mostly). I have a few ideas of things to try now, since seeing your analysis. Cheers!
I'm using kites now as well, flying much better and getting fewer bounces, however they don't work in some darts as good.
I've played with kites for years now, other shapes just don't feel right. Unfortunately dartitis has stopped me progressing in recent years.
You done a video a while back where you tried out all different flights. And when you put the kites on you actually went “oh they go well with them” or words to that effect. So I’m not surprised they work.
I noticed loxley do the straight slim flights, why don’t they make them with the wider angle like retinas?
While you're weight training make sure to practise a lot. You may have to make more changes yet. When I was weight training I went to fabric flights to slow the dart down.
I really like the look of your throw with them new flights mate 👌🏽 no disrespect you could still throw well with the old ones but it looks all so much neater with the new ones 👍🏼
2022 I wanted to improve my darts so been trying a lot of flight set ups and discovered the kite flights and molded shaft flight combo. When you mention losing your throw do you have a video on that and what to watch for? I think overthinking comes into that for me. Great video and please add extra spotter as the weights increase.
Same reason I use pear flights, to get what I call the Barney angle, so you can go either side of a marker dart
Have been doing same . I've went from a standard couple of years ago to a kite because of effects of severe dartitis , took many years to get rid of . I found through dartitis I lost my follow through and still struggle with that but i think the smaller flight helped as it allowed dart to fly quicker and would land flatter . Now I've noticed I've lost a bit of muscle mass in my arms and a little weight loss since was ill in November. I had moved house and had no board up till I bought dart stand couple of weeks ago, my throw had really gone , I was getting out once a week for a throw in the pub and was really struggling with my action . Now the kites are standing up and doesnt feel right This week I've been cutting them down and also tried the DXM flight so its smaller again and this has helped .
It could be a lot of things but when I'm throwing bad I notice I get kinda snatchy and my release point varies a ton. I use a regular flight. I might give a go at a smaller flight just to try so that way as you said I'm more throwing it than trying to place it with various variables affecting it. 🤙

I think you're on to something there Edgar.but you know that we don't really see anyone s true talent until you get into 2nd or 3rd round so hopefully you get there
This works the same but opposite with the likes of big John Hendo losing weight.
This does remind me of the video when you looked at all the different flight shapes last year and the kites just seemed to work for you.
Good bench. My heavy bench press in competition was 529.5 lbs. That was years ago. I'm 68 now and re learning how to throw.
If I benched that I’d have to relearn how to walk and talk 😂
Maybe we can get some Edger TV kites in the future?

Great video Matt, I'm sure it'll give all subs who use smaller flights something to think about... me personally, I'd love a bit more stability but I need them to land flat if not slightly downwards, any kind of upward angle just annoys me for some strange reason lol good luck next week 👍
i use standard flights meaning my darts stick up my darts always land below the treble meaning i have to switch very often would using slims help this so i dont have to switch to often?
Maybe have a go with the kites first it’s a bridge between the 2
Really interesting and relatable although I've gone from standards to slims as... well I don't have weight lifting videos to share shall we say. The standards were just flipping upwards because I didn't have the same snap in my throw where I'm throwing within myself but with confidence which I how I interpret your comments albeit going in the opposite direction since you're now a tank

I had the same experience I had to change to a tear drop flight.
I use kite Standard and pear flights
I think Pear Cider is about the only thing that would improve my throw😊

@@Edgartvdarts It went alright, wasn’t fully motivated, as the exams were coming to an end I had to self-isolate cause I sat next to someone who tested positive, but was glad I could come back in a week later to finish the exams I had missed
