Well you haven't seen anything yet. You have to travel to the Island of North Borneo, known as the state of Sabah. Famously known as Land Below the Wind. We got mountains, islands, sanctuaries, beautiful sunset of Tanjung Aru Beach and many more. Experience Malaysia like you never imagine in your life. Now the RMCO soon begin, come to our state and enjoy life in paradise...
I'm a Malaysian student studying in Australia and although Australia is also diverse and multicultural in major cities, it does not feel the same with Malaysia's harmonious blend and unity of multiculturalism. I can't put it into words but I think Malaysians can understand this feeling too.
Roti Canai, Teh Tarik and the people of Malaysia are our favourites! Wish our home countries could learn from Malaysia... &&& yeah the Eiffel Tower is definitely overrated in comparison to the Petronas Towers!
Malaysian also very proud of Petronas , an oil and gas company that not just produce high quality petroleum products famous world over ,but also big sponsors and fuels used by F1 racing cars ( too bad malaysia no longer host F1 race - Sepang circuit- after being only the 2nd official F1 circuit after Japan in whole Asia continent, Sgpore just took the new F1 circuit advantage of night race and no longer feasible to hold two F1 races in close proximity in the same calendar year , jealous neighbor I think ,haha)
i lived in Indonesia for 5 years. my Indonesian friends loved asking me for made in Malaysia Milo as sort gift/ole-ole whenever i return to Malaysia for semester-break, although Indonesia has Milo too. according to them, Malaysia Milo is far more delicious than Indonesia Milo. i do think so too haha
Generally I think you have experienced and seems understood a wide scope of Malaysian daily life even though a lot of your time spent during this pandemic lockdown. If not because of this lockdown, you would have experienced a more true picture of Malaysia. Wish you both best of luck while continuing your travelling.
Hey guys, great content as always! Just wanna add, everytime when you guys are describing ther diversity of Malaysia, I think it’s better to include other ethnicities as well. In short, you could say that “Malaysia is a country consists of 3 main races; Malay, Chinese, Indians as well as other native ethnic minorities”. These other ethnic minorities consist of; 1. Siam (who have been in Malaysia since before the two countries Thailand and Malaysia were formed) 2. The Orang Asli or Orang Asal groups (different groups of indigenous tribes living in coastal areas and deeper parts of the jungle of Peninsular Malaysia) who are the earlier inhabitants of Malaysia before they intermixing with Malays and other neighbouring civilizations and live out of their nomadic lifestyle. These people also known as Proto-Malay. These people assisted Malaya and the British during Japanese Occupation and Communist Emergency between 1940s-1950s because they are jungle experts. Oh btw, there is a growing number among these people who are now pursuing proffessional jobs like teachers, doctors, engineers, bussinessmen and rangers. 3. The indigenous tribes of Sabah and Sarawak. There are just a lot of different tribes and cultural practices among these indigenous groups of people such as the Iban, Kadazan, Melanau, Bajau and more. Unlike their indigenous tribes counterpart from Peninsular Malaysia, these people advanced and moved out from their old lifestyle much much sooner probably due to better job oppotunities to escape poverty (almost at the same pace as the 3 main races stated before). To make this matter more interesting, there are at least 114 different active languages and regional dialects spoken in Malaysia by native Malaysians themselves. How can a relatively small country have such a diverse multiracial, multireligious, multilingual and multicultural society live in peace and harmony? 🤔 Other big cities in the world like New York and London claimed that their society is very diverse (well, it is true though) but have they seen the diversity of people in KL? Those cities are diverse in terms of nationalities and racial backgrounds but their lifestyle, religions, daily outfits and cultures are kinda integrated to Western Culture and values. Meanwhile, for Malaysia, that didn’t happen. Instead, those diversities are so contrast with each other yet can still be maintained and practiced without any fear of being forced to integrate to the local norm. Those diversities ARE the norms here and very well reflected all over Malaysia. I may be a bit overboard about some stuff I mentioned but I believe it is true. 😄✌️
Wow, great comment! Great points, and well said! We slipped up by only mentioning the biggest 3 ethnicities. The other minorities should not be forgotten! Thanks for sharing
This! This is a good one. A relatively small national that manufactures it's own cars, has for years, and they sell and drive well! We could've (should've?) included Proton and Perodua. Good idea.
Dont forget the local brand product that goes and known globally like the Air Asia, Grab taxi, Jimmy Choo shoes, Bonia Sembonia handbag, jobstreet app, shang ri la hotels, etc.
Ramly Burger getting more and more compliments by north America and Germany people , which both historically invented burgers .. We really appreciate that
Nestle of Switzerland has been a dominant player in Malaysia for over 100 years. Both Maggi and Milo are their brands. And both are equally popular in Malaysia. Surprisingly, Malaysia is the biggest consumer of Milo in the world, surpassing Australia even (although the creator of Milo is Australian). But we also have local brands for noodles like Mamee and Vico as a local version of Milo.
Malaysian Milo is way better than milo manufactured in other countries. Its so good that Indonesian traveller make it a point to purchase milo malaysia as special gift to their family n friends
Malaysia has the biggest Milo factory in the entire universe located at Chembong Negeri Sembilan. Also exporting it to other countries but perhaps the taste varies for exports.
Amazing right that you both experienced Thaipusam, Chinese New Year & Hari Raya in 5 month stay! Well, Christmas is pretty big things too here! and if not of the Pandemic, you'll get to experience Gawai & Pesta Keamatan in Sabah & Sarawak which fall on early June! so many back to back to back...ha...ha...

Thank you for the 10 points you’ve stated in you video, I have 2 points to add here 1. We are also proud of our very own Air Asia, as it has won world’s best low cost airline for 11 years in a row. Too bad it’s hard times for airlines during this pandemic. 2. And also Malaysian animated series like upin & ipin, boboiboy and agen Ali.
Try visiting the mulu caves, said to be the biggest cave and the largest cave network in the world. Its a world heritage in the eastern state of sarawak in Borneo. Check it out!

I will suggest 2 best nasi lemak that I've ever tried as someone living in the suburbs in kl. 1. Warisan Sambal Opah at USJ 9 (near to wawasan lrt station that you guys have been in the past) 2. Village Park at Damansara Utama. (Highly recommended. Super popular among locals)
Thanks for noticing those things that we are proud of. Anyway, I really wish both of you to visit Sarawak... another part of Malaysia to learn more & go deeply to the nature, ethnics and their culture and beliefs... not to forget their traditional foods too. Same like Colgate represents all toothpaste so if my wife texted me to buy Maggi and Colgate it doesnt necessarily means those 2 brands only but my wife just asked me to buy instant mee and toothpaste.
Yep, and in term of taste, maggi have been dethroned from my list by mee sedap and mee ruski since 2010. Indomie is better than maggi but not that much better.

Yep, and in term of taste, maggi have been dethroned from my list by mee sedap and mee ruski since 2010. Indomie is better than maggi but not that much better.
