I thought that the government had already announced a stay on visa/social visit pass expiry until the MCO officially ends, at that point an extension can be requested within 14 days. Also you can leave (even with expired visa/pass) just by showing up at the airport with a ticket (during and till 14 days after the MCO ends).

If the lockdown continues then I don’t need to do anything and can go to KL to board my plane in July. However if the lockdown is lifted I got 14 days to see an immigration officer to get an extension. However the extension would just be for me to get on the next available flight home. They would expect a detailed log of all records such as cancellations of flight. Searchers and communications with travel agencies/ flight companies to show that you have done everything possible to leave Malaysia. Before the interview photocopy passport , page where you got your photo, the entry date on your passport when you arrived at Kl and bank statements. When my visa was extended by 2 months I had my confirmed return flight to UK in May. Without a return flight ticket I would have been refused an extension. I came to Malaysia in January. My initial plan was to hop over to Singapore or Thailand in March and probably I would have got another extension when I come back into Malaysia. Good advice ,dont show you cooking video to those officers , they will extend your visa but 24 hour they will lepak & santai at your apartment eating with you hhhhhhh ok lepak means lying down on the floor with your two legs spread wide the pronounciation is lay+puck. And santai means relax with very very very hardcore big amount of laziness & dumbness & sleepiness even if someone want to give you a money you just look at him without any reaction.or like a gay dude see angelina jolie
Hi Steve and Ivana if you go to Singapore for a visit even for a few hours and then re-enter of Malaysia your Visa should be extended. I used to live in Malaysia for 15 years I did it all the time. Let me know if this helps.
Hope you are able to extend your visa. 👍 You should do another collaboration with another foreign RUclipsrs couple who stay here/KL during the quarantine like Greg and Jumi and/or VeggiesOnTour. 👍😃

I hope you’ll get ur visa extended.. as malaysia economy is opening soon.. domestic travel will be allowed.. you guys will have opportunity to continue exploring malaysia .. stay safe!
International flights are yet to resume. Further our Senior Minister Dept already gave permission for foreigners to stay in Malaysia until August. You need to check and confirm with ur Embassy and Malaysia Immigration Dept.
I have some experience dealing with the Immigration dept although my situation are all different but the fundamentals is proof of financial stability. So I would suggest that you get your bank statements, whatever financial documents, your passport copies, all travel documents, letters e.g. - all printed out before your Immigration dept visit. This is because the officers would be in better position to serve you as you got all your documents ready. Please do bring the originals along too. Just print out whatever you think they remotely need but the most important are of course things related to $$$. It might sound a bit paranoid and might be troublesome for you to get these done but then getting everything ready and not to be summoned back again is a good thing haha...... Just trying to help: Get whatever softcopy into a USB Drive and then go to the printing shop to get em printed out. It might be a bit difficult to find a place for printing services as most places are still closed so I would suggest you guys to head over to Wisma Central which is next to the KLCC Complex (The Petronas Twin Towers). This place is right beside the Four Seasons Place which is in turn next to Suria KLCC mall. Just for direction, exit the Suria KLCC mall at Isetan Dept Store and you'll see the Four Seasons Hotel. This 70s mall is next to the hotel. Inside there are plenty of shops on the Ground Floor that offer printing services. I just had some stuffs printed there last week so they should be opened on weekdays. The printing shouldn't cost you more than RM0.50 per page.....telling you guys so that you won't get ripped off. At the immigration, just tell them what they wanted to hear - that you guys are not planning to stay here for long term and that you guys are financially stable enough to survive in malaysia for the duration that you are applying for. If possible, include your hotel or AirBnB receipt as a backup so that they won't think that you guys are living off the street or something like that. It is also important to come our with an itenerary of your forward visits to assure them that you guys have these planned out before the COVID-19 struck. Hope this info helps and God-speed. Take care and hope you have a pleasant stay in Malaysia!!! P.S. I would be free for a cuppa if you guys wanna meet hehe
@@szehoong good man .. saw many good reliable advices on youtube comment sections and you're one of them, keep up .. Just I might add, include printout of the flight cancellation email/webpage as well as printout of any email/webpage/apps (that shows date and the address of the web address that shows the refund is not yet receive) .. It may count as evidence of money loss (until you get the refund) that hamper your next journey in terms of funding , and you cant afford anymore money loss risk .
I believe going to the Canadian High Commission before seeing the Immigration is a very good idea, especially if you can get the High Commission to guarantee assistance if you get into financial issues while you are stuck here. After all, it is not your fault that you cannot return to Canada safely.
What a nice stroll in d KLCC park? Do u know that it's used to be a horse racing ground? Months have passed. Hoped that your stay in Malaysia has been worthwhile during this lockdown period.
Hi Guys, I am a Malaysian who lives in Canada, I am sorry for what you guys are going through, it is all over. Just a few questions below as you might consider trying it: 1) Have you guys sent an email or call The Canadian Immigration to consult this issue? 2) Have you guys contacted Malaysian Immigration by phone or by email? I am assured there are options to come back to Canada or to extend your visa to stay. Be positive guys, all things will pass off easily and you guys will be back in Canada soon. From what I knew the MCO is up to the 9th June 2020 and I am not 100% sure if it will be extended or to be stopped.
Jetlag Warriors still in Malaysia almost 9 months and we as Malaysians love them now. Please stay more longer in Malaysia and i hope you can travel to Sarawak which is the biggest state in Malaysian and Sabah with their beautiful beaches.
We feel your pain. 😞 We arrived in Malaysia on 21st January and hope that we can extend our visa to stay. We don’t want to go back to UK and want to keep travelling when we can. Our appointment with immigration is in July. Let us know how you get on with your appointment.
Interesting your situation is almost the exact same as ours! I am sure we will post an update video once our interview is over. So stay tuned... hoping everything works out -- for the both of us!
If the CMCO is extended again, you guys can stay here until it is lifted. You will have 14 days to leave the country. Let's say the next phase of CMCO will start from 9 June until 23 June, you can stay in Malaysia 14 days after the later date without extending your tourist visa now. As long as CMCO is in effect, you can stay in Malaysia indefinitely. Disclaimer: This is my own understanding from my reading.
You're right. But we are assuming that whenever the CMCO ends, other countries will still not be open. So there will be a time where we would LOVE to be able to stay in Malaysia, and if not, we will have nowhere to go other than all the way back to Canada. Maybe we are wrong - and somewhere will be open to tourists within 14 days of CMCO ending. But we are trying to 'hope for the best and prepare for the worst.' So, we really hope we can get our visa extended.
@@JetLagWarriors I don't think the CMCO will be lifted anytime soon. The COVID-19 cases among foreign workers and illegal immigrants are still being detected.
You can get onto Immigration website. There is a form to fill up to get a visa extension. Just provide your return tickets to your respective country or a third country.

Officially non residents are given 2 weeks after MCO ends to fly out of the country. If by any chance there's a Bridging agreement with neighbors like Thailand & Singapore maybe there's hope for you guys.
In normal circumstances, travellers would take a bus or flight to Singapore and stayover for a night or few days. Then, return back to Malaysia. I hope you guys get the visa extension and you should inform your embassy that you are stuck here. By the way, Singapore Changi airport is open for all transit flights. Tokyo should be open for transit flights too, so you should check JAL or ANA from KL to Tokyo to Cananda.

hope u guys can extend ur visa and stay a bit longer here in malaysia.... it's not fair for u guys and it's not ur fault tht u stranded here bcoz of MCO..... dear Malaysia Immigration... please extend this couple visa.. pleaseee......
hope you'll have that mercy.....you got to save your life..sure...you can be here longer!....coz it's really bad situation to get back there
Just show the immigration all of Ivana's cooking Malaysian food video and surely they'll understand how much you guys love and appreciate Malaysia😷😁😷🥰😷
Hahaha. 'Sir, have you seen Ivana's char kuey teow? Appointment over'
@@JetLagWarriors I've never missed Ivana's cooking video until now and still wondering what she'll be cooking on the next video😷😁😷
Hopefully..our immigration department Will let's you guys stay more longer ..
Hi Steve and Ivana if you go to Singapore for a visit even for a few hours and then re-enter of Malaysia your Visa should be extended. I used to live in Malaysia for 15 years I did it all the time. Let me know if this helps.
Hope you are able to extend your visa. 👍
You should do another collaboration with another foreign RUclipsrs couple who stay here/KL during the quarantine like Greg and Jumi and/or VeggiesOnTour. 👍😃
We have been talking to Greg and Jumi about this already! Hopefully it works out and we can collab 😃. Still struggling with video ideas for the collab. I think we can figure it out
@@JetLagWarriors Food obvi :p
Hopefully all goes well, good luck!!! :)
Hope u guys gets yr visa extended here in malaysia
Not to worry guys, we are still closing our international border. Glad you like Malaysia and our hospitality. Hope all is well.
I hope you’ll get ur visa extended.. as malaysia economy is opening soon.. domestic travel will be allowed.. you guys will have opportunity to continue exploring malaysia .. stay safe!
Going back home is the absolute last thing we would want to do right now either
You guys are American right? I can see why going back aren't very favourable..
Just a cuppa for that very detailed and good advice? That's dirt cheap. 👏👏👏
@@MrQalamQabut hahaha....I didn't ask for a treat....just a chat over a cuppa hehe
@@szehoong good man .. saw many good reliable advices on youtube comment sections and you're one of them, keep up ..
I have a good feeling this couple about to get some good results (contact us if not)..
U got my supported bro..good luck 👍
So sorry for you guys i hope everything will turn up right sooner.
What a nice stroll in d KLCC park? Do u know that it's used to be a horse racing ground? Months have passed. Hoped that your stay in Malaysia has been worthwhile during this lockdown period.
Horse racing ground? Wow! Interesting stuff, thanks for sharing.
@@JetLagWarriors No problem.
We wish you all the best 😘😘
I hope everything will okay for you guys. Get Malaysian government to help. Email to the minister.
Hi Guys, I am a Malaysian who lives in Canada,
I am sorry for what you guys are going through, it is all over. Just a few questions below as you might consider trying it:
1) Have you guys sent an email or call The Canadian Immigration to consult this issue?
2) Have you guys contacted Malaysian Immigration by phone or by email?
I am assured there are options to come back to Canada or to extend your visa to stay.
Be positive guys, all things will pass off easily and you guys will be back in Canada soon.
From what I knew the MCO is up to the 9th June 2020 and I am not 100% sure if it will be extended or to be stopped.
Support you guys staying longer in Malaysia
Jetlag Warriors still in Malaysia almost 9 months and we as Malaysians love them now. Please stay more longer in Malaysia and i hope you can travel to Sarawak which is the biggest state in Malaysian and Sabah with their beautiful beaches.
We feel your pain. 😞 We arrived in Malaysia on 21st January and hope that we can extend our visa to stay. We don’t want to go back to UK and want to keep travelling when we can. Our appointment with immigration is in July. Let us know how you get on with your appointment.
Good luck
Common JIM..have a heart..let them stay and sort their problems out.
You can get onto Immigration website. There is a form to fill up to get a visa extension. Just provide your return tickets to your respective country or a third country.
Don't worry they will grant you extension one Month more because fly will. Resume in July
Hope everything work well. Is difficult to travel to other countries because of the virus. Be strong you guys.
JetLag Warriors is a good tourist... I like you guys...like my friends
Yes.. You can stay here in Malaysia. You will safe in Malaysia.

Go to your embassy and get them to support you.. bring the letter to get the visa.. speak honestly how safe staying in Malaysia... good luck !!!
I will support you...
Yeah whatever u guys already plan for this MCO just go on with that.happy to watch it👍🏻👍🏻
Pls continue your Visa here at Malaysia.. Stay safe in Malaysia here.. Love greeting from Johor Malaysia... June. 2020
its such a waste if coming to Msia but not enjoying waterfall & rainforest hiking here. Bukit Tabur is nearest but not sure its open now. Another note, do try the best nasi lemak in Village Park Damansara Uptown. Even local love it.
Hope you het the extension guys..
Big up. God bless you and keep you safe.
