    Please share what is purpose of all the added sand at the end of process?

    • @artificialgrass_uk

      It has numorous benefits. It's primary function is to add weight to keep the product in position. It also gives it the most natural look and helps the blades to stand upright. It also helps to keep the product cooler in summer.

    Thank you for the video,
    Please can you tell about quantity of sand that must be in 1 m2.
    i have a 25 mm grass.
    Regards

    • @artificialgrass_uk
      @artificialgrass_uk  Год назад

      If it's a decent grade turf, use between 6-8kg's per m2. If the grass product does not have the curly thatch zone, then more sand will be required, 10-12kg's per m2. A good sand to use is Garside 2EW. Any more questions, give us a call on 0800 246 5566.

    Why do you not use wooden battening around the edges?

    • @artificialgrass_uk
      @artificialgrass_uk  3 года назад

      Using wooden battening creates an inferior finish. It does not give a natural looking result.

      @@artificialgrass_uk For some reason my boss makes us dig it out then type 1 it, then sand and grass... Are we wasting our time type 1ing it ?

    • @artificialgrass_uk
      @artificialgrass_uk  2 года назад +1

      @@thomasholland2384 Type 1 is recommended. It isn't shown in this video (only mentioned in voice over). Typically you would do up to 0.125 tonnes of Type 1 per m2 and 0.05 tonne of granite 6mm to dust per m2. Membrane can go above or below sub base, we prefer on top, followed by grass.

    What sand to use under the turf?

    • @artificialgrass_uk

      We recommend to use granite stone 6mm to dust under the grass as opposed to sharp sand.

    It's all well and good adding Sand to the finished Lawn,but to my Way of thinking,the Sand could propagate Weeds and other plants via Bird Droppings... What are your thoughts on this?....🤔

      I have an artificial lawn,it saves a lot of work, but it still needs a degree of maintenance,and yes weeds will eventually pop up,a good sweep with a stiff broom once a month does the trick.

      Hi Scott, it hardens up and anchors the nails at perimeters and stabilises edges.

    My full back garden is solid clay. How would I install artificial grass? 👍🏻

    • @artificialgrass_uk
      @artificialgrass_uk  2 года назад +2

      A good depth sub base and you may need to look at drainage options with your contractor, if you currently have any problems with the ground draining. The artificial grass surfaces are fast draining so that wont cause any problems. If you'd like us to connect you with a trained installer, please email us at info@artificialgrass.com and we'd be happy to assist.

    I have a important question. After the artificial lawn is installed, should we be seeing sand escaping out from underneath the artificial grass? With our new installation, that's what I'm noticing.

    Is it possible to install artificial grass on paving?

    • @artificialgrass_uk
      @artificialgrass_uk  2 года назад +1

      Yes, assuming the paving is level and flat and in good order. A drainage underlay is also recommended over hard surfaces. This also helps with comfort underfoot.

    how to take care for this grass? is heavy rain make any problems with flooding or not? how to clean it when dirty? what if will drop oily food from grill - sausage, butter, oil? can stand on it heavy objects? how it looks like when we remove heave objects from it?

    • @artificialgrass_uk
      @artificialgrass_uk  5 месяцев назад

      Hello there. In terms of flooding, this has never been a problem. The sub base must be installed properly and the grass drains at 60 litre per min. Product is pretty much self cleaning but if any spills etc, just treat as you would a house carpet and soak up and use gentle cleaner to remove. Very straightforward and common sense really. You can also view our maintenance guides here: www.artificialgrass.com/knowledge-hub/ . For heavy objects, again much like a house carpet, the yarn will lift once heavy object is removed.Thank you.
