As a master of direction, Jha’s work in renowned films like 'Damul,'Gangajal,' 'Apaharan,' 'Raajneeti,' and 'Mrityudand' speaks volumes about his strength.
In the latest edition of the ANI podcast with Smita Prakash, Jha discusses his journey from Bihar's Champaran to Bollywood, sharing how his initial dream of being a painter led him to become a filmmaker.
Having contested 3 Lok Sabha polls in 2004, 2009 and 2014, Jha explains why he entered the world of politics and later decided to quit.
He also provides insights into Bihar's changing political landscape, emphasising the roles of Nitish Kumar, Prashant Kishor, and PM Modi.

Nobody weaves characters like him. I am still in awe of Rajneeti and watch it again and again.❤ At a time when most people think that film making is a business Prakash Jha films take us into a reality which is socially relevant. He never compromised with his craft just to make money. Such a noble soul and such a disciplined student of Cinema.
Mr Jha is too intelligent to admit that he can dare to making a film on the dark side of other religions.
why he should? about something which he doesn't know.. he is working on Indian politics , he doesn't make religion films.
Introspection and self criticism is the best. Am sure in every religion there are people who know their religions history and context to comment on it and make movies.

Your shows were better paced earlier, allowing your guest to flow and finish their thought. Lately you are heckling them and disrupting their story. These guests are exciting but a little restraint on ur part will make for a better viewer exp. Pls compare the ratio of anchor/ guest talk time across eps.
This is the best podcast I've heard. Such clarity of thoughts, true to work personality & courage to articulate eloquently by Prakash Jha is commendable.

Mr. Prakash Jha emphasized about the awareness of politics amongst the Biharis and further added that most political movement including the NAXALITE movement stated from that region, which is factually incorrect. The NAXALITE movement started from a place called NAXALBARI, in North Bengal under the leadership of Charu Majumdaar.

As an ex student of Sainik school from Bihar, I have huge respect for Prakash Jha ji. a self made man but he has not done anything for Bihar. He tried his luck in elections and then went back because for him it seems politics is like additional perquisites not a serious business. People from Bihar have earned by mocking Bihar whether PJs films depicting crime or Shekhar Suman mocking Bihar as a comedian and then he also came to Patna to fight an election and after losing vanished. People might be corrupt but they have that much common sense.

Why Prakash Jha didn’t mention the great son of the soil from Champaran , Bharat Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad ? It was on his invitation that Gandhi came there and did his first Satyagrah.

Prakash jee has very strong basic education and values. He is one of the few “literates” in the film industry. Vast social and political knowledge. He is correct that bihar is like that because of the people living there. Others have moved out.

Being connected to his roots, and deliberately failing to fake the adopted Mumbaiyaa and Bollywood culture seem to be in his foundation of being sane, creative and bold. Jai Hind sir
Seemed another of those so called creative conversation with selective activist film maker in some sense which have political and socialist overtones, need to see if there are some more technicians from diverse sectors get accommodated to get their ordeals and challenges!! The discussion involved the aspects associated with the so called journey to films and the movement in home state and political implications, the activism and the disruptist attitude and some film making experiences, various controversial moves in terms of the OTTs and film contents, the upcoming projects in crisp way, the so called political leanings, the failure of the so called technicians in the politics etc but missed out deliberately various questions of selective content making while whitewashing the other factual affairs, the religion based and other controversial aspects being shown in content, the real perspective on naxalism, political and other areas, the opinion on excessive adult content in the OTT space ,the venturing to lesser explored genres and subjects, the way forward and opinion on home state progress and too less contribution to the regional films and others get ignored!!

Money of free electricity is also taken from public itself through other taxes increase. Electricity and water is free. But Ration, Electronic gadgets, clothes, building materials , vehicles etc. 99% things are not free and their GST, prices and taxes are increased by the govt in background. The government is not foolish. They manage to get the taxes and cost of free things.
