Salute to Kiran Bedi Ma'am.She is still a firebrand. Women in India are the biggest migratory population is a profound statement . It would be nice if Kiran Ma'am educates the girls and women in India regularly to stand up for themselves. There are countless women who are scared to go back home when they are ill treated and abused in the spouse's home.

I really wish this kind of interview is hosted in Hindi, so that so many non English speaking people understands this. So many of my domestic helpers need this kind of advice. I feel from my heart for my helpers but it’s not easy for me to help them with their woes and troubles. Domestic violence is happening more in these uneducated people’s houses. I am not an expert in any sense but I had a friend who suffered from domestic abuse within marriage and what I learnt from her ordeal is that sometimes the victim is afraid of reaching out to others (cops, friends, family, counsellors, etc) because she fears that if she speaks out to others then the offender might come to know about it and will react with immediate violence. The offender usually has some sense of control and power over the victim making them obedient. In some instances the abuser will also threaten the victim by saying that if she complains to others then he will reveal some confidential information that could destroy her family's reputation (this happened with my friend hence I am mentioning this possibility). Sometimes the offender uses blackmail to keep the victim silent. In some cases, the victim might even suffer from Stockholm Syndrome and that may prevent her from reaching out to others. There could be any number of reasons for why a victim suffers silently without taking positive action (i.e. ending the relationship, leaving the guy, etc). In the podcast you mentioned that Shraddha should've gone to the police, but if I recall recent reports then Shraddha did file some police complaint but it seems she also retracted it before the police could act on it. Not sure what really happened there or why she did what she supposedly did. Someone can correct me if I am misinterpreting the recent news reports.
You are absolutely right about that. The victim that is the wife is threatened with all kinds of verbal and mental abuse. She cannot go against the abuser for these very reasons
What can be done in such cases if any women suffer is that she can go to parents or Where's she feels comfortable but rigidly she can say no to go with them and she should ensure them that she wouldn't speak against them actually after long stay she would know all the truth about the family. Excellent interview, very well conducted by Smita Prakash. It was a pleasure to hear the views and advice of respected Kiran Bedi. She is a legend and a true patriot. She is methodical, intelligent and practical in her handling of all kinds of situations. She has a way of solving problems and to lead by example. Clear thinking is the Hallmark of great leaders.
Fantastic podcast ❤ so inspiring . As a retired teacher, I exhort every teacher/ school/ educational institution to screen this for their students. So proud of you Kiran Bedi Ma’am! And the questions you posed were insightful and probing, yet not offensive ! Kudos 👍🏾
Wow! Thankyou for bringing her to your show she's my childhood inspiration & still remains one , ofcourse. Lots of love and respect for you ma'am. A true women of substance she is; mostly women who are at top positions put other women down but here she is praising other women and telling them to stand for themselves! Hope to meet you soon ma'am.
Beautiful interview. All the points that Kiran Bedi Ma'am raised/raises have always been relevant to India's civil society....but there has never been sufficient political will to appreciate her commitment to create tangible solutions to our society. It's like... she has always challenged the low IQs of babus and netas and obviously they are nervous to be in her company. With respect to Shraddha... I, as a DV survivor and single mother, can honestly say that our social system is ruthlessly patriarchal and biased against women. Our toothless DV law, our judiciary, our misogynistic police and our stifling, spineless and apathetic society kill so many of our daughters every day. My RTI asking for details on how many women got relief thru DV law implementation, across India, was shocking. Not even 1%. Most of them abandoned their cases because the system and courts were painfully slow and always put the victim on trial with mean and mannerless questioning. This suffocating system...its not easy to walk out of your marital home despite domestic violence. Luckily for me my mother was a huge pillar of support. Not every woman is that fortunate. Most violent men draw their energy from their violence. They need their victims and they'll never let them go. It's possible that Shraddha, in a moment of weakness (and trust) could've been party to something that she in retrospect is ashamed of. Probably she was ashamed that her acts could bring shame to her family and he probably was threatening her on those pieces of "evidence". She was not even married to him... She could've walked out. But when you are a DV victim, it just saps your energy, your confidence and a certain depression sets in. It takes enormous courage to walk out and often you are confused about what your next steps should be. But the truth is the system is a bigger predator. It sniffs your vulnerability miles away and It'll shred you apart in no time. As a lone woman it's difficult to manage it all. I am sure that poor girl was trapped in all this, not knowing where to go. My heart went out to her...what a way to die. Violent guys have a pattern to their relationships and they have a way with women. Obviously that beast's parents know about his nature. They just don't want him near them. Most often they are happy that their son is someone else's problem and they'd like to keep it that way. Young girls should understand that live-in relationships in a culture like ours is the first step to self-burial. And family bonding is a two-way street. Middle class parents don't know how to handle things when their daughter chooses a live-in partner. Its a very complicated situation for everyone concerned. But law needn't look at all these issues. It's a heinous crime committed on a young girl and their duty is to deliver justice to her. Drugs, alcohol, material aspirations have lead our young ppl to go astray and feel rootless. I hope these lessons are well publicised and young girls are trained to be more objective and rational about their harmonal needs and stop glorifying that as 'love'.
What would u say about west then ?? Where men leave the women with child and have kids with multiple women.... women arev depressed there.... with this live in more nos of families will break leaving the women vulnerable.... men and women are different... breakups leave women depressed
you have also expressed the reality and truth where its felt on skin and mind. Kiran Mam also said the family needs to be responsible for each one in the string. this is the first liability that the law needs to point so that the whole family is pinned up at one time ie siblings specially and cousins . all varnability starts here because the girls is looked down upon and demoralised. The power to the abuser comes from here where he can move in peace personally because no one is addressing the abuse. Kiran mam is one of a true person but others on chair actually dont deal while respecting privacy. dialing 100 means making a drama at your door steps and neighbors gets gossip topic, so surviving those eye balls is the first painful thing. the law should first ensure privacy to dialing 100 and confrontation on the bases of the call where in the immediate family members need to be roped in, these are the check points thats has to addresses then many more victims specially from middle class family will be able to open up
@@lakhotiadigital8732 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. These ppl are adults. There is little control parents have over them. But in a marriage the in-laws and parents do play a major role in taking responsibility as elders. In today's India elders don't want to take any responsibility of their abusive and confused children, even within a marriage, forget about live-in relationships. Truth is they really have no control. But their hearts bleed when something like this happens. In fact these young pop are abusive of their parents when they do such things. As a society in transition, our young ppls problems are lot more complicated - low self-worth, unemployment, peer pressure to be hip on social media, failures elsewhere and also probably an abusive childhood. They just drift away as soon as they can earn some money. Shraddha and her partner were perfectly grown adults... And that fellow is a classic abuser. He checks all the boxes of an abuser - isolating his partner from other relationships, silent treatments, blackmail, threats to kill....everything about him was wrong and this girl didn't see the red flags until it was too late. Poor girl. Our prayers should go for her soul to RIP and that fellow to be ripped apart. I am surprised to see how the press is writing reports about him. "Shraddha allegedly killed by... " what do they mean "allegedly " when he himself has admitted in his narco tests to the crime? And apparently narco tests don't hold water in the courts...then why do that tamasha?? The system is working 24 x 7 to protect an abusive and violent male. This is our law.
Would it be possible to put the entire video in two parts? I don't want to miss watching any second of it. Covering it in two days becomes convenient and delivers efficiency. Thank you.
Very important information for all to know. 1. If you are being abused, reach out. Make a 100 call, tag police on social media. Many people just suffer in silence because they don't know what to do. From one of India's all time best, most trusted police officers. 2. It is one's duty to report a crime. Not reporting a crime is also an offence. If you don't want to be involved, you can ask the police to not reveal your name.
why dont we go to the root cause ,, This isnt about the crime , this is all about the mentality which has been groomed since childhood . why should not this be stopped why a Non Islamic Guy chops off an Islamic Lady . because they are taught negative externalities . they perform them well in future Shraddha is one example
Great interview! What a positive “can do” spirit and service ethic Kiran ji embodies! She’s a strong role model for women and all citizens. No problem is unsolvable/unresolvable for her, whether domestic violence, or traffic snarls. Kiran ji strongly reiterates the need for the right parenting, whether girls or boys.
This one was REALLY INCREDIBLE podcast! I take pride in as someone being a part of Kiran Bedi mam's exclusive BRS community! Btw.. I look forward to seeing people like SANJEEV SANYAL SIR on the show! Thanks ANI! ❤😌
Wonderful interview, Smita... keep up the good work, your podcasts are at another level !! Language used in your interviews is professional and sensitive.
Madam Kiran is always inspiring 🙏 so many aspects she has spelled out that need to be incorporated in every household/ state/country. Her expertise in the field can be utilized for betterment of society. Great Conversation @Smita 🙌🏻
Amazing and inspiring conversation. Kiran Mam you are a path provider to so many in term of your ideas, thoughts, clear mindset, determination etc etc etc...
Ms. Smita Prakash! Your Podcosts have been wonderful and I have not missed any one of them so far. I would request you to call in someone like Rahul Dravid who is not only a great sportspersonality, but a thorough gentleman. Kindly make all efforts to bring him and interview him. We will be honored.
Absolute Masterclass this episode is. So very educative and enlightening. 🙏 Thank you very much Smitajeeএ for inviting Kiran Bedi Ma'm to this podcast of yours. I would take this opportunity to say that why common people very concsiously not connect with the people because time and again it has been seen that a good Samaritan has been harassed by police. Most unfortunately the likes of Kiran Bedi Ma'm only one or two in number in this vast country. Maybe Police personnels are trained to suspect each and everyone they come across so they donot lose objectivity to deal with each case. But speaking of my personnel experience, I was harrassed by the force when I tried to help a child who was hurt by his alcoholic father. I was made to feel as I was a criminal. We will readily seek help from an Indian soldier but not a police. To us police "represent the statement " Rakshak hee Bhakshak".
It’s a very good session with this great Lady Kiran Bedi ji! I wish she could come to politics and serve India. As she said, PM Modi ji is a karam yogi and moving India to a different level. I hope and pray that he continues for another five years and bring India out of the corrupted system. We are fortunate to have him as our PM.
It was really a very inspiring and informational episode and I have been looking forward for such a detailed conversation with Kiran Bedi mam. She has been my source of inspiration ever since I have heard of her. Thank u Smitaji for telecasting this episode.
While Madamsir Kiran Bedi made some important points about Shraddha. There is something called Trauma Bonding which seems to be the case with Shraddha so despite wanting to leave that monster she may have been Trauma Bonded. Trauma Bonding is when an abuser uses manipulation tactics and cycles of abuse to make the victim feel dependent on them for care and validation, causing a strong attachment or bond. This often occurs in romantic narcissistic relationships, but can also occur in families, friendships, or work relationships
This Lady knows so much and lot to learn from her please ma'am if you can bring her once again for a talk on different issues like thier total journey as an IPS officer or what a governor do or any other special topic u think it will be a great moment for all of us
Mam she had filed a complaint in police station last year November, but police didn't take any action... And yes women have a psychological issue that what if she leaves him, society may treat her, her parents may get hurt, etc... It's not financial stability, it's psychological, we have been told from early age to adjust, forgive etc. And normalising verbal abuse also.. Sad still this upbringing is there in so called ellite, educated family also...
You are absolutely right now it is high time to Convert Police Department into a seperate like election Commission etc so that at least a change will take place though it may take time 🙏
Dear Smita and team...another sterling interview....so much to learn ...we all have contributed in our small ways and i understand how tough it is to just work good work .....she is truly a Hero.......civil servant politicians all can do so much..we as simple working class citizens are doing are bit ...... highly inspired to walk that extra mile ..thanks Smita and team keep it up
Wonderful Kiran Bedi Madam..nice to listen to you on this show..we need more Administrators like you Madam..Thanks Smitaji for this wonderful conversation.
They missed an important point! Sometimes it's the mother of the boy. A woman is the worst enemy of another woman. I have seen so many decent sons who were madly in love with their wives only to have to choose between their mother or wife and about 80% of them chose their mothers. There was a very nice Jain couple that lived downstairs in our apartment building and they had a five year old son. Very happy couple. Living a happy life until the father passed away and mother moved in. She filled her son's ears and he started accusing his wife of cheating. Started abusing her and she finally ended up divorcing him. There was another beautiful couple and the mother did not even live with them but she brainwashed her son into thinking that his wife was having an affair! I have seen so many times mothers influencing their sons' married life directly or indirectly.
Agree. I am a 90 born but I don’t know how I know the name Kiran Bedi since childhood. It’s not just me , I think lot of my generation. She is so popular.
Smita ji you are doing a yeoman's job by getting such influential personalities in your podcast. Even if 10% of your viewers follow the take-homes of your enlightening conversation with icons like Ms Kiran Bedi, I guess this country will surely become the Vishwaguru. Thanks.
I am big fan of Kiran ji. It was so good to see her. Wonderful interview. Specially the suggestions given by her should be taken up seriously. Wish to see Sambhit Patra and Smitaji face to face.
She went to the police in Mumbai.Lodged a complaint. She was asked to withdraw after 27 days. For 27 days the police were twiddling their thumb. They did not do anything.
Wonderfully inspirational interview with the tough lady MS. Kiran Bedi who means business; a no nonsense person. She needs to b the Chief Minister of Delhi who can bring the city on track. Women of Delhi look up to her; A able administer who stands up to all odds. Smita Prakash forgot to mention that Kiran Bedi was honoured with the Magsaysay Award too. Many accolades to her account too.
Salutes to Kiran Bedi madam. She is Bharathki beti that we all are proud of. Candid interview. Her mention of Palki Sharma in ur podcast shows how updated she is. It was a treat to hear her speak
She is so right a woman is a migrant in India. I have suffered enormously at the hands of my parents the trauma affected my psyche so much that I wasn’t able to adjust in the society. It is unbelievable harm to women like me and no one speaks about it.
So happy that Dr Kiren Bedi served as Lt Governor of Puducherry, my hometown. She was so reachable to public, that I could enter Raj Bhavan for the first and last time in my life. ❤🙏💐
I learnt so much about the constituency, electorial, about family abuse law, duty of the citizen. She should definitely write about the ideas on resolving issues in the country so that the respective CMs can look them up as suggestions & public can raise the voice to abide by the same. Irrespective of the ruling party. Thank you, SP. I visited here for Palki, and now after Kiran Bedi Ma'am I'm subscribed.
Thank you vary mush smiita mam for such a wonderful conversation wirh dr kiran mam, it is always inspiring to hear kiran mam on various topics and her insight to deal with various issue during her journey
Society and laws are not good in our country. My mom was a teacher and she needed help. She went back to her mother and was sent back saying things will change. She killed herself infront of me when i was only 2.5 years old. That's the only memory i have of my mother. She was independent, she was smart. Till today i don't know the reason why she had to it. My father married another lady after that and she used to abuse me. When i was 5 years old my grandparents ( mother parents) brought me to their home to take care of me. My father Never bothered about me. He used to work in reputed company. I had no relationship with my father. Till the age of 10 i used to scared child. Even my grandparents never told me what exactly happened. I don't understand why they didn't put case in him. Today i am 30 single and working very well. But was not allowed to study cause whats the point of me studying cause i am a girl. 6 months back when i was in so much emotional pain i called my father one day to know the date when my mother passed away. 6 months back only i came to know what was that date. Death certificate doesn't mention reason of death only date. What laws??? what society???? Relatives used to feel sorry for me but no-one encouraged or focus on my studies. I was a bright child in school but could not complete my graduation. I am 30 years old , alone , independent but still Haunted by my childhood memories.
stay strong !! if you are open to it..try to find a partner and build a life .life is too short for dwelling on the past and feeling sorry for urself..
Maa Adishakti bless you lady. Hope you have taken professional help from Psychologist/Psychiatrist..Meditate and heal yourself..and share your story to others who are in darkness. .be light for other people who are in despair
There is a reason why people love and respect Kiran ji. To the point answers. Always solution oriented. For most problems, she has ideas. Even if 1% of us start thinking and working like her, Bharat will become superpower.
Just phantastic. Kiran Bedi concluding the interview in the assessment of the PM is not surprising as she herself had earned such a leadership reputation as a police commissioner in Delhi.
Mam u r amazing. Ur IQ is too sharp It's ur upbringing that speaks. Many facts of life coincide with me and my parents especially my dad. Mam ur physiology to tackle the these criminals is worth imparting to the new officers. So that we can have a top class law abiders
Smita Ji I love your podcasts. You have such an easy style with a natural mix of Hindi and English and asking all relevant questions. Mrs Bedi is one of the most accomplished person that India has produced and it is a shame and our misfortune that she could not become Delhi's chief minister. One suggestion..please change your background wall as it is very distracting and ugly.

She has the ability to keep people captivated for hours on end. She is indeed a wonderful woman. She should be a part of 2024 Union Cabinet!!
Kiran ma'am is so sorted, and a problem solver. Incredible person.
I love this podcast. 🌺
Kudos 👍🏾
Exactly i was saying same thing... His parents knew that he is hitting her . But they told her to keep calm . His parents are to blame also
Can't really thank you enough ANI for this interview..... truely insightful, powering and eye-opening..... Yet thanks 😊🙏 keep it up:):)
Always good to see you ma’am! Always very energetic and inspiring
Very well explained and analyzed
Women and Men raise your children well..so this cycle of violence against women will end.
HAPPY BIHU MAAJI MAA KOUTI PRONAMJI BAHUTKHOOBJI DHANYAWADJI SUBHAKAMNAYEJI🌺🙏❤🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

She looks so determined .I always liked to be like her. Truly an inspiration.
I love how her thoughts flow! Kiran bedi is legendary
Such a beautiful episode. Kiran Bedi spoke her heart out. Very authentic and gifted administrator and citizen of india.
The monologue at the beginning was very well written and said.
And looks like another amazing podcast!
Thanks Smita Ma'am.
Thanks ANI! ❤😌
Same here from brs community
Every parents should listen to this talk . Amazing ...👏👏👏
Gave me goosebumps! Her concern and affection for the people, clarity in vision and thoughts are unmisable!
Ms. Smita Prakash! Your Podcosts have been wonderful and I have not missed any one of them so far. I would request you to call in someone like Rahul Dravid who is not only a great sportspersonality, but a thorough gentleman. Kindly make all efforts to bring him and interview him. We will be honored.
After accidentally watching Palki Sharma's podcast I am addicted to your channel
Smitaji you handled this stint with kiranji very well and covered all the topics very articulately...Thank you...loved it ...
Kiran Bedi Mam ❤ so much public officials politicians can learn from you
Kiran bedi is icon of Indian lady....
Ma'am it's a humble request.🙏
Please release these conversations in Hindi too.
Our other half population needs to empower more.
Narcissist Personality Disorder
I want to ask Mrs Bedi. What is hindering GOI to amend police act of 1860. Why cant there be a new modern police act to cater todays modern India.
Very much need of the hour interview. Thank you
Mam also bring to your show sir Vikram singh ( ex dgp up )
plus one
Smita ji you are doing a yeoman's job by getting such influential personalities in your podcast. Even if 10% of your viewers follow the take-homes of your enlightening conversation with icons like Ms Kiran Bedi, I guess this country will surely become the Vishwaguru. Thanks.
Smita ji, another good podcast. Kiran ji, the first lady IPS, 24th Lieutenant governor of Puducherry and more, I respect her very much.
Awesome ... so true, education only is not enough at all....we all must be brave and strong and alert
I am big fan of Kiran ji. It was so good to see her. Wonderful interview. Specially the suggestions given by her should be taken up seriously. Wish to see Sambhit Patra and Smitaji face to face.
Kiran Bedi!!👍
She is so pure and awsm .. great podcast.
Thanks!
Wonderful podcast with Kiran Bedi Mam . Thank you for the same . Each of your podcasts have been absolutely interesting.
It's a privilege to listen Kiren Bedi please bring her more & more. Her presence confirms our belief of beautiful India, empowered India.
Every interview I’ve seen has been lovely.
Keep it up and continue giving us the pleasure of watching.
How did I miss this fabulous episode??!!?? Fantastic conversation ❤
Learn about Narcissism Personality Disorder..that Murderer Aftab is a Narcissistic
Great lady our dear Kiran Bedi mam.🙏
I am 30 years old , alone , independent but still Haunted by my childhood memories.
you are lucky. you dont have to worrry about mom and dad. you are free bird ,nothing to worry . be happy
@@starbucksadmin7265 what nonsense....as if 'mom and dad; is a 'jail'.
stay strong !! if you are open to it..try to find a partner and build a life .life is too short for dwelling on the past and feeling sorry for urself..
You can still complete graduation there are so many options to study , you are still young , people abroad graduate at 30,40,50 age
Throughly enjoyed this awesome Podcast with this very intelligent lady. May India continue to produce more of Ms Bedi
Jewel of Bharat Ms. Bedi.....best podcast...Thank you Smita.

What an amazing lady! A big salute to her! ❤
I loved your conversation today as she is the one I idolize to speak truth no matter what.
Amazing interview..
Smita ji, u have taken the interviewing to a very high level. Keep it up. Hope Modi ji can come one day on this.
Smita Ji I love your podcasts. You have such an easy style with a natural mix of Hindi and English and asking all relevant questions. Mrs Bedi is one of the most accomplished person that India has produced and it is a shame and our misfortune that she could not become Delhi's chief minister.
One suggestion..please change your background wall as it is very distracting and ugly.
your doing good
It is very doubtful that Shraddha will get justice and Aftab will be punished as our judiciary believe in Sharia.
What a wonderful lady . Thanks samita for bringing inspiring people
Such a strong and accomplished lady, cherished her all my life.
