Looks like the air fryer did a great job on the onion Booger! I still have my onion bloomer gizmo that they use to sell at Walmart back in the day. I've always loved them, and use to make them quite often. That sauce does look and sound delicious!
If the person making the video says things like "I dont know what I'm doing" and "besides i dont feel like doing that shit" its an automatic like and subscribe from me! haha.
Holy moly. Just picked up my air fryer today.....never researched recipes until after I got it home. Wow love your channel. Watched 10 episodes so far. Omg loved that french Canadien onion soup. Lordy came back from the grocery, with fixins for your seafood bisque, blooming onion, catfish and more. Subscribed just cause you're amazing
If my brother Tom loved it, then I know I'd love it too!!! I've always wanted to try making a blooming onion. Now I may need to. I bet I'd really like it since it isn't oily. Congrats on hitting 2500 subs my sweet Booger!!! Love ya!!!
Amazing channel with excellent Air fryer recipes, wonderful demonstration ! I enjoy your videos and style odf cooking. Thank you so much Boomer !! Cheers !
I'm really glad to hear your husband's opinion. That sauce looks awesome, too! I look forward to trying this. Thanks for the tip on the turkey baster! I watched a program on AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN where they double-fried french frieds, and did the same with onion rings -- egging and flouring them after an initial coating had been par-fried. I'm gonna try that with this.
ah yes mon ami, we had a restaurant growing up where we double fried fries...get them yellow..let them cool... then re-fry for another 10...they came out beautiful..and same with air fryer I do the same. Thanks for stoppin in!
I love using a turkey baster for all kinds of things -- I use it when I'm frying bacon or sausages, instead of trying to spoon the grease out. I have one in my grow room (I grow peppers inside year-round as well as keeping begonias under a grow light for the winter) for watering smaller plants, it's easier to get into the soil, lol. I have one for my frog tank, too (I have aquatic frogs, it's easier to get goop out of the gravel). I just watched another recipe for blooming onion on the Allrecipes channel -- they blanched the onion for 1 minute in boiling water (then ice water) first, it seems to help open up the "petals". I got my Actifry delivered on Friday and I"m trying to decide what to christen it with!
CanadianErin hey those are all awesome ideas for a turkey baster eh. I did read up on that ice water thing for the onion but decided not to, if you try it let me know if it helps. Thanks for watchin and commenting I appreciate it
Watched it three times (probably will watch more). Got distracted by your nail lacquer (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that colour!!), then the sriracha pronunciation, then I was kinda able to focus on the recipe. You are awesome! Thanks for the recipes!
Thanks for sharing.... can't wait to try one myself. I bet is does taste better without all the grease they traditionally cook them in. I ordered a Phillips Avance today from Williams Sonomoa as they had the best price. Thanks again to sharing..... appreciate your time!!!
Hey thank you for your time too Pamela, I appreciate you stopping in and commenting. This was fun to make and yum! you're gonna enjoy your new air fryer!
Booger, who was it that stole my lines at the end? He took the words right out of my mouth! Yes, this was light and fresh, much better than you can get in the restaurant! I love this delicious side!!! It looked perfect! I am craving the sauce too! MMM! Yummo my dear friend! Yummo!!!
hehe, thanks my sweet Juanelo..Tom hates to be on camera but he don't mind eatin so he was ok with tasting it off cam...someday i'll get him in front of the cam....Much appreciated mon ami
I use to work at Texas Roadhouse and if you drop it on its base it will spread it open. Also if you spin it lightly into the fryer it will open more too.
Love the idea. I just got an airfryer so trying to figure how to use the oil input. Love your attitude as you have a natural beauty in your personality. Next time empty the batter into a separate bowl and pour through the opened onion the do the sifter thing you mentioned in a different bowl and then repeat. It should make things easier for you. Blessed be.
The best way I have found to keep your eyes from crying while cutting an onion. Is to have your kids do it and then tell them you will give them something else to cry about and have them cut another one. Because with 4 kids one onion isn't enough
omG you had me at "I don't know what i'm doin'' & "i'm not doin' that shit" lmao...you're freak'n awesome, can't wait to see more of your vids, can't leave without subbing
Great video. I've wanted to make these. I have to believe there's a way to slice the onion in wedges to greatly reduce the amount of effort and hassle this requires. Much of this is for restaurant presentation so they can charge you $8.95 for one onion LOL. Wedge the onion, batter, air fry. Then use your brilliant sauce recipe. Too much work to make it "bloomin"...Also, you could easily substitute or add zucchini wedges along with the onion. The batter and sauce are what makes this exceptional!
I'm a new subscriber. Found you from Tos Tin Man's channel. You're so much fun to watch & listen to. Love your personality! This came out great. Looking forward to more videos. 😊
try putting the onion in the egg wash and the flour UPSIDE DOWN. It will penetrate much quicker. the ice water helps the Keyshawn open up so the other steps are WAY easier, like a thud the time.
Ermegerd! Booger, I lost you for ages it seems. The powers that be made me subscribe again. I just thought you were still I'm Japan enjoying the grandbaby. I've missed your videos. Can't wait to try this one!
Should be getting my "air fryer" in the next couple of days. Blooming onion is something I never would have thought of making. Thanks! Outback onion just has too much grease/oil for my liking.
@Booger500us Love your attitude and the way you talk like a real person, not trying to act like a professional cooking show. Very refreshing to see as well as very entertaining. Thank you for your time and effort .
💙New subscriber. CJ said you were the air fryer queen so I came to check it out. I'm going to stick around to see what else you can teach me. Good luck.
My first time here, just wondering if you were a Newfie or from that region? My family are Newfie’s and your accent reminds me of them. It’s amazing wherever you are from!
Thanks for sharing. I intend to use my "power air fryer" to make a Blooming onion, using your recipe. Air frying is not the same as deep frying, it's less calories! Keep the "funny" in your videos, we all need a laugh sometimes.
Ah thank you so much Kim, remember to spray your pedals with some olive spray if you see dry flour spots and you are good to go, it was pretty fun to do and good! Have a great day!
Awesome video! Can't wait to get my air fryer so I can do all these cool things guilt free! (or closer to it anyway) Also a side note...I use safety goggles from the Dollar Store when cutting onions. I look like a dork but it works like a charm!
well I guess its time to pull out my handy dandy as seen on tv Onion Machine that I bought in the nineties Its been in my cabinet twenty years I used it twice Lol lol lol Great video Happy cooking people
Nice work, D! That air fryer is amazingly versatile. And I really like horseradish mayo...who'd a thought to pair it with a blooming onion? ( LOL when you gave the onion a 'haircut'!) (:
😂😂😂 At 1st I thought u were just a tad tipsy when u 1st started talking. Then throughout the video...Yup I knew u were. Lmbo Nahhh I Luv'd ur video tho. Absolutely funny...Luv ur personality with it. &&& U showed me how 2make a blooming onion. 👍 I'll omit the horseradish n my sauce tho. Lol Thank u
"They tell you to put it in boiling water, then ice water, and it will open up; but I don't feel like doing that SHIT" I WANT TO BE FRIENDS! YOU'RE AWESOME!
Good GAWD that shit looks good!! I always wanted one of those air fryer thingies... now I REALLY gotta git one... and the bloomin friggin onion is one of my absolute FAVES! THX!! 👍👍👍👌👌👌
Thanks can it do a whole chicken too and does this cute machine do a baked cake I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm checking out different air fryers and the one your using looks nice on a counter top. I appreciate any comments and thank you.
Brenda you ask away...I have not tried a whole chicken or a cake in it but in the recipe book there is a devil food's cake recipe in it..I might just try it sometime along with other recipes in the book just to 'test it out' I'm not a 'recipe' follower but I might just do some of these from this book..
Booger500us thank you so much I'm following some great videos on the you tube some look so great.Again many thanks and keep up with your videos I enjoy them
how do you keep food from falling in the hole where the attachment goes I have been looking at all of your cooking with tfal I have one from 2 yrs ago and have not used it cause I thought what else can I do with this other than chicken wings
Hi Linda..with the actifry what you can do is put a piece of parchment paper if you take the paddle out...with this delonghi that i use there is no hole when you take the paddle off..which is super nice! They do sell a basket that attaches to the rotating thing now I have seen Valerie Reese use it in her actifry, maybe that can help you out? Thanks for stopping in
Awww I"m sorry Carol...Your dad and I almost have the same birthday..mine is tuesday..but today is my sister's birthday as well. Sending you lots of hugs
I'm not sure but I think this was the first video of yours that I watched. I am sooo excited to give onion petals, rings and bloomin's a go. Oh my yum. Yum, yum, yum. Love me some onions. Have you made this again?
Oh good! This was my most challenging one..it takes patience..I was planning on doing Petals though...haven't done this again been so busy with other reviews and such..I am always trying new stuff in that machine lol
Check out the specs to my air fryer here:

Looks like the air fryer did a great job on the onion Booger! I still have my onion bloomer gizmo that they use to sell at Walmart back in the day. I've always loved them, and use to make them quite often. That sauce does look and sound delicious!
Thanks Rus! I was gonna go buy the cutter thingie but then said hell with it..wasn't that difficult...that sauce was bad ass!
I LOVE your problem-solving skills - baster and sifter, wow! Your blooming onion looks restaurant made, you NAILED IT!!
Thank you Gracie! I'm all about using what I got handy to make it work..I appreciate you stopping by!
Seriously? This is awesome Booger! Is there anything you cant do in an Air Fryer? Bravo! And almost a half million views... 💪
hehe thanks Mike.I tell ya if you ask me what is the tuffest thing I ever cooked in the air fryer it's this one...but man did it turn out lovely.
Good job and your down-to-earth style makes it fun to watch. I tend to do a lot of research before I buy something so this was part of it.
Ah thank you Susan I appreciate that!
If the person making the video says things like "I dont know what I'm doing" and "besides i dont feel like doing that shit" its an automatic like and subscribe from me! haha.
loving it. subscribed and waiting for more cooking tips.

Oh man Paul, It's something I had forgotten till I seen Nate do one...so simple and easy and good!
Oh Booger500us, you are hilarious! Love how real you are and don't 'over-explain' things like we're idiots. I'm a fan!
Oh you just made my day..Mouah!
Booger, you've done it again! That looks delish! The way you cut it up was easier than the way I was taught, across two chopsticks.
Awww thank you Mum! was my first time , not too shabby eh hehe
I haven't met a person yet, that don't like a Blooming Onion. My 1st was at a big Fair. So good I ate 2 of them..! So good👍

"please don't use miracle whip, it's disgusting.." All I needed to hear to subscribe :D Looks amazing!
I use to work at Texas Roadhouse and if you drop it on its base it will spread it open. Also if you spin it lightly into the fryer it will open more too.
Thanks for the tips!
I have an air fryer now, so I'll have to give it a try. Yours looked good.
C'mon Phil....gotta do some wings in that baby

New subscriber here! 👋🏻 That looked so good! I definitely have to get me an AirFryer now! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Dianne! welcome! and yes you do :)
"They tell you to put it in boiling water, then ice water, and it will open up; but I don't feel like doing that SHIT"
I WANT TO BE FRIENDS! YOU'RE AWESOME!
you could have just poured the egg mixture over the onon ( I am short too)
You’d be lucky to find an onion half that size here in the UK.
really Lorri...wow...Mini onion blooms doesn't sound too bad though :)
for this i think it's easier if you mix the eggs and flour mixture and then just dunk the onion.
Good GAWD that shit looks good!! I always wanted one of those air fryer thingies... now I REALLY gotta git one... and the bloomin friggin onion is one of my absolute FAVES! THX!! 👍👍👍👌👌👌
hehe well allrighty then!

If she has kids they're probably so funny because her sense of humor is fucking awesome 😂❤ great video ma!
Nicole Xxxoo I'm her kid and I can honestly say she's way funnier than me. Unfortunately her humor and boob size were not inherited 😞

Hi brenda...I am using the Delonghi MultiCooker Air Fryer :)
Thanks can it do a whole chicken too and does this cute machine do a baked cake I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm checking out different air fryers and the one your using looks nice on a counter top. I appreciate any comments and thank you.

Thanks again, Booger500us
OMG looks good Booger! Looks like a giant Onion Ring lol

My pleasure!
how do you keep food from falling in the hole where the attachment goes I have been looking at all of your cooking with tfal I have one from 2 yrs ago and have not used it cause I thought what else can I do with this other than chicken wings

Just buy some shrimp and oyster mix. Add water to mix , stir and dunk onion in mixture. Excellent no flour taste

Oh good! This was my most challenging one..it takes patience..I was planning on doing Petals though...haven't done this again been so busy with other reviews and such..I am always trying new stuff in that machine lol
I think petals (and rings), will be fun. Have a great day, Booger. PS: I'm Ivy.
You to Ivy!
Why do you put it in the fridge for an hour? Just curious because you did that with your fried shrimp too...
it actually helps the batter to 'stick' or set on the food. Thanks for your question and visiting :)
Love itttttttttttttt!!!!!!!! where can I get the hooters batter??? I'm ready to cook that asap
Tmoni 78 hey thank you for stopping in eh, I am not sure where you are , but in the states you can get it at walmart, winn dixie or publix.
