Customer: Umm there's a fly in my miso soup
Bun Lai: Enjoy!
Customer : OMG these taste great. So, what are the ingredients?
Bun Lai : Yes.
Great story! No narration, the main character and the visuals tell the story. Good camera work, too. This makes me want to go foraging, or to his restaurant.
You can tell he’s passionate and the message is amazing ❤️
Yeah amazing at giving diseases
@@mynameisraphael9630 at this point what doesn't give diseases?
i used to eat here when i was in college. super yummy dishes! miya was a great friend to me and my buddies. i was really sad to see he closed up the place. i hope he’s doing alright.
wait he closed up, why?
@@wanderlust9817.....the new Yorker did a documentary video about bun lai right after he closed miyas....and he was saying that he was working too much and not taking care of himself so he said he closed down miyas to work on himself physically and spiritually....i thought maybe it was financial hardships brought upon by the pandemic

Invasive species: It's free real estate.
Chef: Oh, look. Food!
Invasive species: Wait, that's illegal
I don't know that I can get over my prejudice within one lifetime.
I love the idea of eating invasive species, I'm definitely going to make a trip to check out Mia's
So sad Great big story has ended..still watching?
Customer : mmm i can feel the proteins surging through my veins , what did you put in this delicate food ?
Bun Lai : Hehe boii
I wish this video would have mentioned the Firecracker Sake he makes. Its absolutely phenomenal if you like spicy beverages. Its too bad that he's shutting the restaurant down at the end of the year. Great food, I'll miss this place.
Tourist: these taste great! How are they made?
Him: it’s complicated
🤔 I actually like when GBS reuses old videos when they do their compilations. *_However,_* this one is simply the exact same video from Nov. 2015...just a few seconds longer due to the sponsor insert at @0:15. If you don't have any new videos due to the pandemic, take a break GBS. 😬
I haven't seen it before and I enjoyed watching it. I probably wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't re-uploaded. If you've seen it before you could always just not watch.
@Jenna White ...or I could watch it again and comment that it is just a straight re-upload. Of course you enjoyed it. You think GBS would upload a 5 year old video that wasn't interesting? 😂 My point as most understand is that responsible channels (as well as newspapers and magazines) expressly indicate when content is old. And that's OK. It's done all the time - "this article was originally published in 20XX" is used all the time in journals. GBS knows better.
2:26 was worried the crab would be lost in the creak
Lolol
*crack
I’m down I feel we have become little princess when it comes to our food and need to eat more stuff like that

0:51 Bun Lai: huh this roach tastes weird
takes another bite
Manure is an edible meal.
Flies like them.
everything he foraged together would make one serving the most.
sad this restaurant is now permanently closed
Why?
@@lateral1385 Because it was innovative, sustainable and delicious. Why would you even ask such a silly question?
