What an awesome pattern! Please make a second channel with regular explanations in a normal speaking voice describing step by step what material you are using and why. I get that this is an ASMR channel and the people come here for that and I am glad that they enjoy it. I like what you are tying but this presentation style is not for me... If you were to just do a second channel with the same video and regular audio I believe it would do well and all it would require is a a voice over and regular audio. Thanks.
@@shetiesflies Thanks. I will subscribe to that channel if you do. Am subscribed now as your flys are so epic.... would like more information on the how's and why's so that I may learn more. Thanks for considering it.
I can see where it would be very relaxing for people with high stress levels. Personally I figured out a long time ago that stressing over everyday life is a waste. I would very much like to see videos explaining more about the material and sizes.
Stunning work Erin - thank you so much for doing this , very far out & Alex you're a magician Love you guys I'm planning to visit Montana in August from Cambridge UK love to visit you guys
Young lady, I have to tell you how impressed I am. You have a loyal subscriber here and I will keep tuning in. I have been tying for years and I have found new techniques on how to do things from your videos. You definitely don't let any tying material intimidate you from what I see. I struggled with deer hair at first, and your deer hair bass bug is a work of art. Where did you find some of your cutting tools? There's one I have seen you use I have never seen before and I can't describe it. Please keep these videos coming and I wish you the best at this tying adventure.
Ok this is a great tie but it can be a spectacular tie if it was tied with all natural materials. Id love see some your more traditional ties. Grate job!!!
WoW ... IF, I had the skills and took the time to create such an incredible replica of a cicada ... i would CRY if i lost in a tree or snagged a log, or if my line broke .... yup ... I would cry! Nick in Redfield Arkansas
Wow! So much work involved, your work is so amazing and the guy behind the camera is too! Keep up the great work! I want to go fly fishing with Shetiesflies
Very unique. I like it. Now I'm tempted to take the pattern I've learned & some of the parts from your pattern and combine them just to see how the cicada would look.
Wally-wings but with peacock?! That simply cannot be beat. Also, the resin and powder application made the perfect "bug" appearance. Is that makeup? Anyway, well done.
OMG! Absolutely pure art. The simply sensual voice you have matches the speaker. Watching you get “lost at the vise” is so ethereal. Such a natural at ASMR, wonder if you may try other types of ASMR content? ❤
i sincerely adore your videos! they're so calming and relaxing. i love your editing style, and your skill in tying is simply incredible, coming from someone who doesn't know much about it 😅 one question: what is the name of that white pen you use to write the name of the fly in the beginning? thanks!
was picking up some flys at big y fly and got 2 patterns of cicada in anticipation of the hatch of both broods, maybe it will make a difference maybe not, but always happy to experiment
Glad you're here - no fishing knowledge required! These are functional flies, though I sometimes keep the original as more of an art piece. They've been dubbed "functional art" which I love :)
Just discovered you and I’m already obsessed. Q from someone who knows nothing about fly tying - is there a reason you don’t cover the sharp end of the hook while you work? I’d be so terrified of making one wrong move and stabbing myself lol
I just drew a shape freehand on a manila folder, but it out, and used it as a template for the foam. The form that I use to build the body on is a glass nail file :)
Wish you did the eyes different. Leave a little a little line then get a lighter to melt it then push a cold piece of metal to it to flatten it and it will keep the red eye on. Like a nail head......
I can see a small mouth bass leaping right out of the water for this awesome specimen. If I were a fish I would flip up the bank and tak’em right out of the fly box. Thanks for sharing!
This is not tying flys anymore. This is ART 100% beautiful. The body is amazing. The whole fly is waww.. the legs are incredible. Congrats, really.
Thank you so so much! Still lots to learn - the encouragement means a lot! 💙
Ok I've been tying flies for 20 years. This fly tying was impressive
Thank you so so much! Definitely a bit of a challenge! Really appreciate the encouragement!
You are truly a genius artist of the secrets of ocean fishing.
Wow!! Thank you so much! Still lots to learn - so glad you're enjoying the videos!
The feather as wings! How incredible!
Thank you!! It’s a well-known technique in the fly tying world - so satisfying when it works the way you want it to!
technique : origami wings
Mind blowing, masterful artist in flow. Just pulls you in. Beautiful. Thanks for posting! 🦋🦋🦋
Really appreciate that! Thank you so much!
I really love watching the way you use and work with different materials and tools!!! Its so interesting to see how they turn into the final piece!
Thanks so much! I always love finding new (and sometimes unconventional) tools and materials!
This is so good. Awesome to see more female fishers, especially in the fly scene :)
💙💙💙 Thank you so so much!!
OBSESSED with how you did the wings! So creative! Beautiful work as always~
Thank you so much!! The wings really are my favorite part!
never been fly fishing, but these are a work of art. very satisfying ASMR

I love the tap you usually do after you cure the resin it’s so satisfying

I so appreciate the amazing comment! Are you referring to the Stonfo razor holder?
Just wow! I couldn’t fish with that,,,,I would frame it and hang it on the wall. Outstanding skill and imagination. Ty

Fantastic! Great job!
Thank you so much!
Awesome, creative, relaxing.
Thank you so much! So glad that you find these relaxing - mission accomplished!
Wow - just wow!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Do these actually get used? I would be HEART BROKEN if i lost something so beautifully made.
If they make sense for our area/water/species, we’ll often use them. 💙
I was just looking for asmr but i think i found my new subgenre. That is so good it makes ME want to eat it.
Welcome!! So glad you’re enjoying!

Thank you!! All natural is certainly the goal! I’m hoping to do a series will all natural materials 😊
Love these videos. Keep up the great work.

Omg, the wings were especially brilliant!
Thank you!! Feather wings are a staple of fly tying, and they’re so satisfying when the curve and shape are just right!
Beautiful!! Tight lines🕷️🐛🐜!!!!

Beautiful work

@@shetiesflies Will do. Thank you for the reply & video.
Gorgeous fly and amazing video!! Loved the increased ASMR elements!! ❤❤
Also, the way you did the wings was so cool I was in awe haha
Thank you!! The wings from feathers idea is tried and true in fly tying. So satisfying when I can get them to curve the way I want!
Wally-wings but with peacock?! That simply cannot be beat. Also, the resin and powder application made the perfect "bug" appearance. Is that makeup? Anyway, well done.
Thank you so so much! I was really happy with the wings 😊 Fingernail powder for the win!
So we’re tying arts and craft flies now eh? I’m here for it!
Never know from week to week!! 😂
Those classic Atlantic Salmon flies are pure arts and crafts. And AMAZING!
Omg that's my nail file 😊
Worked like a charm!
Awesome work!
Appreciate that!
Would frame it and place on my wall. No carp or Smallmouth is getting this masterpiece. 🤗
Love that! Thank you!!
How dare you impale one of these bugs on a hook and try to pass it off as a tied fly! 😂😂😂
Take a bow. ❤
Ha!! Much appreciated!
DANG!!! I would eat that. I fished cicadas on the Current river and had some explosive strikes. Amazing skills and techniques your the real deal.

Спасибо!
this knocked me out so hard haha
Perfect! Mission accomplished!!
Another great one! It's fun watching how the process and techniques are used here. I'm wondering if you have a Mormon cricket pattern?
I haven't done a Mormon cricket yet, but I'll add it to the queue!
Wow! Amazing!
Thank you so much!
very nice fly

A work of art
What tool do you use to bend the monofilament for the legs 👍🏻🇮🇪

I’m curious!! Keep me in the loop and let me know how it goes!
Hi. It's an amazing job. Please tell me, with what tool do you bend your paws? Thanks in advance for the answer!!!
Thank you! It's a Thread Zapper by The Beadsmith. :)
@@shetiesflies Thank you!!!
I like the way you did the multi-part foam body. I don't recognize the form over which you started it. It seems to come in a case. What is it?
It’s a glass nail file 😊
So beautiful!!! What background music do you use? It’s so peaceful!
Peace Of This Infinite Cosmos By Ashot Danielyan Composer
Love the tye, just wondering how wide are the strips of foam?
The strips are about 3/4” at their widest point 😊
What is that thing that you used to bend the legs? You are a true artist.

Lovely!!!!
???: Can you tell me what that tiny hot wire tool is? Brand?
Thanks!

What is that blue stick thing?
It’s a glass nail file. It’s linked in my Amazon lists. 😊

Great question!! It’s sharp, but the worst I typically do is catch on it a bit. You’d have to really go at it full force to hurt yourself badly 💙
what did you use for the eyes, and legs?
Eyes are a 5mm glow fishing bead cut in half and the legs are painted monofilament
Where do you get the plastic pattern for the body? Tight lines🐜🕷️🐛!!!!
I just drew a shape freehand on a manila folder, but it out, and used it as a template for the foam. The form that I use to build the body on is a glass nail file :)

@@shetiesflies definitely a learning process! You’ll get there :)
U kidnapped a cicada and tied its ass up thats a real bug! /silly
🤣🤣🤣 Probably would have been easier!
Freaking amazing!! From an asmr standpoint, for me would have been a much better video minus the music.

Yes! Working on how to incorporate soft-spoken videos as we speak 💙
This minus the ambient humming
Working on balance. Totally get that the music isn’t for everyone.
