UPDATE: Here is a link to a new video that was filmed with better lighting! Much easier to see! ruclips.net/video/fFS8bPlubRE/видео.htmlsi=51vc8-XW5jCU-AFP
This is an interesting, more realistic pattern than the one I use. I'll have to give this a try. Also, I never thought about the push-pin needles. Those could be used in shrimp and crawdad patterns I've been wanting to try. Thanks for the demonstration.
Thanks for posting how to tie this fly. I saw your carp videos and was thinking, I wish I could figure out the pattern. Now I know and appreciate the detail in the video.
8 weight but only for the size of the fish. You can easily cast it with a 5 weight no problem. If you look at some of my other videos, you see me fishing this pattern for carp with my fiberglass 8 weight.
@@mickeygrantflyfishingtying6246 thank you sir. One last question....what is the thickness of the foam? 1/8, 1/2. Not the size you cut it, but how thick it is from sticky side to non sticky
Thank you Frank, hope you get some nice fish on it! It’s worked fantastic over the years for me and it will absolutely work for you too. Thanks for watching!

Gonna tie some of these but next time wear a light colored shirt.. would make it much easy to see
I just uploaded a new video that is much easier to see. Thanks for watching
nice tie but you should not wear a dark blue shirt...makes it hard to see what you are doing!
You’re right. Im contemplating making a new video because of that.
Super fly You do a great job talking us through it. Just so we’ll done will tie some tomorrow thanks so much

I noticed you didn’t whip finish. Will the nail varnish and s/glue hold all that together
Sure will! I have had at least a dozen fish landed on one of these flies. They hold up quite well
How big is that fly can u compare it with something so I can see how big it is pls
It’s roughly the size of a large grass hopper.
>>>--->🎯
That a big fly wot u going to catch with that
I tie these for carp mostly, but bass and trout will eat them too.
10/10
If that pattern doesn't work, I don't know what will. Great job!
Thank you James! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
When you cast it, you have to hold your mouth right.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
