Bernie is unbelievably incredible.
GOOD GOD, AWMIGHTY, rhythm guitar in "Funkentelechy" cut like razor wire! UN-freakin-believable how ON THE ONE they is! P-FUNK Lives 4-EVER!
Shout out to the late Bernie Worrell,...slipping in that Close Encounters of the Third Kind in his solo at 52:39 and throughout. Taking it all the way upstairs to the ceiling. R.I.P.
Can we give the great great Bernie worrell some love Rip some love
Rest in love Bernie 💕
0:10 Funkentelechy
21:35 Cosmic Slop
30:05 Bop Gun (Endangered Species)
57:34 Mothership Connection (Star Child)
1:09:09 Flash Light
Thank you! I’m stuck on bop gun. The horns take me to church every time!
Much abliged 8-30! “May The Funk Be With You”👊🏾
I enjoy watching this video again and again. I get dissect the many facets of the Pfunk entourage. The Pfunk ladies are amazing on stage. Their interaction throughout the show is subtle but very engaging. Debbie Wright's high pitch sound during the landing of the mothership is so beautiful and infectious. Lynn and Dawn are dominating with their antics and Jennette is as smooth as ever during this performance. There is so much going on in this show!
This is the concert my mama wouldn't let me go to....smh...Thank you!
I will always treasure Parliament / Funkadelic and the genius musicianship they brought !
Glenn Goins was sorely missed ever SINCE (Sept. 1977)!~ His voice was irreplaceable! Garry Shider and George carried on. But no one could take Glenn's place vocally!
the mothetship will fly with or without you now its weird that Garry and belita are gone
My thoughts exactly , His voice was Irreplaceable on that song .
I agree wholeheartedly!!!!
Amen
Buddy Guy
This show was on my first birthday. The best group that ever did it
This is the baddest band on and off the Earth.
Alan Jeter 🤘🏾
So I use my smartphone calendar to learn that Feb 18, 1978 was a Saturday. I saw this same show on a Sunday night in Feb. 1978 in Columbia, SC. I cannot remember, however, if it was Feb. 12 or 19. in Columbia, SC. If it was Feb. 19, that was one hell of a turnaround to travel from DC all the way to SC in one day. I remember Cameo and the Bar-Kay's opening for PFunk and me being somewhat under the influence. I felt like I was in a parallel universe that whole evening in SC.
I was there! Man the Carolina Coliseum was the place for all big bands 70’s-80’s I went to many shows there! What a time!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man, I had me a can of brew and some killa, now I'm in a parallel universe. ✌
yesssss! i was right there!!! damn i miss those days.😢😢😢
I literally never get enough of the people in these bands. Everyone contributes. From The Parliaments to the P-Funk All-Stars--I'm all in... Hey can I be in the biopic? You need me.
I was there. It was the best concert I have ever seen. When the Mothership landed and they broke into Flashlight, my head almost blew off, The roof came off the Capital Center that night, the crowd lost it! I get chills just thinking about it,
+Larry Salley It's okay slim!. Smile!.
I was there also, and it snowed like the dickens that night. LOL
I too was there, my first P-Funk experience.
i wasn't there , i was born 12 years later but i go tthe chills right now brother
Somebody really needs to get the funk back on the scene
All this funk almost blew up my iPad
I was there at the Capital Center, where the Bullets use to play! I was 16years old. That was a long time ago. I was so young.
I've been playing this song since I had the honor to see them in person!!! Gary was one of the best guitar players Parliament Funkadekic had. RIP brother, Long Live Pfunk!!!!!
Two greatest Parliament albums=Mothership Connection and Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome. Two of the best albums ever in rock, dunk and soul aka rock and roll.
🎼🎶 Dud mine to! Nothing seems to cure my eel , when YOU TAKEN ????
I wish I was alive in 1978 to see PFunk in person at the Cap Centre (Born in 1981). I know I would have a great time
Born in January 81 myself. Eye know the feeling. But it's cool. We can still make it funky 🤘🏽🕶️💜
Glenn gone to soon, Funk on Brother🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Boy I remember being there. Those were the good old days!. But they are back. Smile!. From 1978.

39:41, my hats of to the guy lighting George's joint. That's something I would've done, haha. Epic
SEE THIS IS WHAT I MISS BACK THEN YOU GOT AN SHOW AND THEY PLAYED REAL HORNS DRUMS ... THESE YOUNG PEOPLE DONT KNOW AN SHOW UNTIL THEY SEE PARLIAMENT.
I was only 7 at this time. My mom and stepdad were both at this concert, prior to meeting up and eventually getting married. My mom was with my aunts and uncles, and my stepdad was with his boys. Both used to tell me the weed was flowing rather freely that night at The Cap!!! They also told me about other times they've performed in D.C., like the Carter Barron at the old $1-$5 concerts, or the old Washington Coliseum. Only old head Washingtonians know what I'm talking about.
1000%!!! never missed a show when they were in town. Damn I miss those days. The energy from the expectation of knowing they were coming to town was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
@unicornshimmer2200 everytime I hear those stories, takes me back to my childhood, wishing that I could be there to experience it during that time. Stories are gonna have to do for me, but as I told my mom and stepdad, you guys were blessed to have been a part of that.
Woooow old school in tha area,
@@shayemontfitch7704 👊
Truth just told the Gonegouster was a rare gem 💎
@ Terrence Aldridge
The other drummer is Boogie Mosson, who ordinarily was the Bassist (and Rhythm Guitarist on occassion).
Yes when skeet joined gc promoted or demoted boogie to.rhytym guitar
I believe the other drummer was also Frankie Kash Waddy as well.
@@muzikman183 It looks like Frankie Kash on Funkentelechy at least.

You are right. They came out Funkin' tight same with the Houston 78 show
Jasmin Lloyd Just noticed your picture, besides being into the P- Funk and incredibly fine... It looks like you might be from Detroit :)
Yeah age got to some of the members now most of Georges crew is either dead or sick and still pissed off cause he ripped them off they'll never replicate this again
not all
Detroitblue that's the cocaine/crack influence that they played a faster tempo
Full on Clinic for GETTIN' DOWN
I understand using somebody else on drums but man Bigfoot is the GOAT of P Funk drummers nobody could make them songs sound the way he did the closest was Dennis Chambers
And I’m only talking about using other drummers for this concert only Bigfoot should’ve been on drums all night
