After reviewing the this PuraX along with.the Pura Max, Petsnowy, Neakasa, and PetSafe boxes, I only kept this PuraX and the Pura Max. Both because they were my favorites and I like that they are both on the same PetKit app along with my water fountain. The app is straightforward and I appreciate the notifications and tracking. I just wish it would keep history past 30 days as I'd love to see how my cats weight has fluctuated over the past 6 months. I need to do a comparison video between the two as there are pros and cons. I prefer the safety features, ease of filling, and larger bin on this PuraX. But I still think the Pura Max design is more cat friendly, especially for big cats. If I had to pick, I'd stick with the Pura Max as it is the only one both of my cats will use. And if I didn't already have a Pura Max, I'd definitely get the Pura Max 2 that was just released: geni.us/By8eLzb (Amazon paid link).
There's a bad smell?! Something must be wrong as this should be immediately scooping all the dirty litter into the bottom drawer and using the deodorizer to prevent smell from wafting out of the drawer during cleanings. Is your deodorizer set up? Is your bottom drawer fully closed with a trash bag in it? And, since it has been 2 weeks, have you pulled the trash bag and put in a new one? Remember that since all the gross litter piles in that bottom drawer, the smell down there can get strong. So it is key that it is fully closed and emptied regularly. I usually replace the trash bag once a week on mine...or when I notice any smell. While this should smell far less than a standard litter box while giving your cats an ever-clean pan and reducing your work, you do still need to maintain it. Does any of this help you figure out the issue?
Hmmmm....good question 😅 I cannot easily answer that one as I don't have buckets with measurement lines to move the litter out and back into the box. So I apologize, but I can't tell you this one. Another piece is that it depends on what litter you use and how much you want to fill it. You don't have to fill it all the way to the maximum line.
Is it better than Pura Max?
