    Great video. Very informative with excellent use cases. Sadly, it's priced at $499 now which makes it a non starter for me. Great suggestion regarding the speakers. It's only interesting as a portable extended monitor. Size and weight makes huge difference. Hopefully they take that into account for next version.

    • @w2best
      @w2best  3 года назад +1

      499 is def. too much. I agree. I still use mine pretty much every week even though there are things that should def. be improved. I hope there's another version coming out next year. :)

    This was incredibly useful and well done. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I didn't know it didn't have some kind of a "kickstand" to support it when mounted, and with my 16" Macbook Pro, and having seen this video I don't feel comfortable with it carrying all the weight in the hinge/screen. Really great interview, thank you so much! I guess I'll go with the Xebec, the only downside there is the screens are smaller...

    Best possible review for this product. Think it would be a good idea for the company if they made it possible to remove the third screen, if needed and just use the one and then add it back if you want. For people travelling or moving a lot it is a significant amount of weight to carry around. Thanks for the video

    Liked! That was a very well in depth review and lots of my questions were answered. I also love Ofiyaa over other brand due to their clamp style which is very convenient when switching to a different laptop instead of the messy sticker/magnetic style. My dilemma now is whether to get the Ofiyaa dual screen or trio screen. In actually, I don't need 3 screens. My problem with the Ofiyaa dual screen, I don't think the screen has the ability to switch from the right side to the left side of the laptop screen since the other side of my desk is a wall...and I'm limited in space. The trio screen solve this issue since I can use either side. However, the weight stability when mounting on the 15 laptop does looks insecure. Decision, decision....

    • @w2best
      @w2best  3 года назад

      If you can buy tri I would buy tri. I often only use one screen and that works just fine. However the stability on 15" is far from perfect. You need a pretty still hinge for it to not collapse at an angle. Glad you like the video! :)

    • @w2best

      No - you need two usb c with monitor out because there is no daisy chaining between them. There is the HDMI port so you can use that as the second, but then you also need a separate power cable.

    At 5:00, are you saying that there is some sort of perpetual-energy thing going on here? You DO have to either keep the laptop plugged in, or else run down the battery. You can't have the monitor powered by the computer, and then the monitor, in return, powering the computer! I assume that the engineers allow some sort of minor power trickle to go back to the computer (or have the monitor requiring less power from the computer) when the usb-c-out goes back to one of the computer usb-c ports... but you make it sound like a Beetle Baley episode where one soldier carries his mate, and to make things easier, the mate ALSO carries the first guy! Other than that, nice video, though. ;-)

    • @w2best
      @w2best  3 года назад

      I assume the power from the wall gives power to the monitor and then forwards it to the laptop like all other usb c screens work. :)

The screens don't tip forward enough so you have to have a chair on wheels to roll towards the screen you are using. The screen resolution is very bad and hard to adjust and use as a result. The Software doesn't keep up to date with the Mac OS and every few months the Tri Screen stops working. Since I am on Mac OS 13.0.1 this device has totally stopped working.
