Sure Ozz went on to greater commercial success after this with Zakke, but when BATM and Ultimate came out back to back after Randy's passing and Jake came on board, I discovered my new guitar hero and when I hears Jake was no longer part of the lineup after this tour and Ozzy was looking for another guitar player I was thinking "Who in their right mind would let Jake go?"
I doubt Sharon was home much managing Lita and Rudy's band with Tommy Aldridge besides their Whitesnake thing. Short-lived but it's out there. M.A.R.S. Jake lived with Ozzy at one point. I think Jake said it was a quick thing like "you're out" and didn't know wtf to think. I've been saying my whole life that quick and easy doesn't cut it. If it did then Randy Rhoads footage would be easier for Ozzy to find. It's not just his name on Tribute record, is it? Even the stage lights now on tour are blue and purple like a certain Blue Cheer LP. Heh, who's haunting who? *Whistles landing checkmate playing chess* Boom! (Barking) Can you sing the Mikado like Dr. Crane?

So cool watching this. I saw this tour twice at Nassau Coliseum, NY. First time w/Metallica opening (Cliff!!), 2nd time w/Queensrÿche opening. Jake is my hero. He made me pick up a guitar, and wanna learn to play! Have a dvd boot of this show, from vhs source. But a dvd from laserdisc would be better!😉 Thanks for posting this. Cheers!
Ozzy and Bob Daisley both say they didn’t like this album. Why? You had 5 songs on it that got major airplay, Ultimate sin, Shot in the dark, Fool like you,Lightning Strikes, and Secret loser. Some of those songs remained in Ozzy’s set list till he quit touring. I thought it was a fantastic album.
That’s not even accurate. The only songs played after this tour were Shot In The Dark, and he very briefly did Killer of Giants when Gus G joined on guitar around 2010. No other songs from the album have ever been played after this tour, unfortunately.
The production is awful - SITD sounds decent but it had extra single polish. I saw this tour and Ozzy as Liberace was not a great spectacle (Jake was great though).

I meet Phil Sausson a lot. He plays with Last in Line. Every time they're in town, I get to hang out with them. Phil is a great guy. Huge musical influence as a song writer.
George Lynch was gonna be the guy, but Sharon liked Jake’s appearance better. He fit the look Sharon was looking for. George had short hair at the time and in many interviews said that’s how he lost the Ozzy gig.
