    I like how Ari tries to point the mic at Joaquin but Joaquin just pushes it playfully away.
    I think he wanted the night’s event to be about Ari and his movie and not about himself. But he also acknowledges that if he doesn’t at least pop in and say something than audiences will probably be a little disappointed. Everything I’ve heard about Joaquin being a very shy but also a genuine person is 100% right here.

      Its so weird because I just so happened to out of the blue watch "Finding Frances" today and then saw Beau in theatres after. The whole Beau "waiting" for Elaine thing and them meeting as adults reminded me of Bill and Frances in the episode... I come home and thought of the comparison and decided to Google "Beau is Afraid Nathan Fielder" and boom. I wonder if he inspired some of the surreal situations in the film and one reached out to the other or something 😅 definitely seems like Nathan's lane

    No one is a bigger fan of Ari and Joaquin. I've seen Hereditary and Midsommar about 100 times and went to see Joker four times in the theater but this movie is just not good. Poor Joaquin about killed himself in this role too. All the elaborate intense scenes that led to nothing. No answers and a very unsatisfying ending, when the ending is what really matters. This is what makes Hereditary and Midsommar masterpieces. The shocking and satisfying endings! This movie, in terms of being completely nonsensical, is only second to David Lynch's Eraserhead! Waited four years for this movie to be completely let down and I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way. Ari had free reign and the best actor in the world to make a masterpiece and it just is not.

    • @jordanf286
      @jordanf286 Год назад +10

      If you were a big Ari fan you would’ve seen that this was truly his masterpiece. Each film, including the short films he made before Hereditary, were represented in this movie and it was such a relief to see that Ari was able to make the movie he’s always dreamt of making. The ending was deliberate and perfect when you truly listen to what the story had to say.

      I felt the same way on first watch but I’ve been reflecting on it and I’m not so quick to call it bad. I’m gonna rewatch it this week with a different perspective, a more go-with-the-flow perspective that is more welcoming of its postmodernist elements and its function as an extended metaphor. I believe that my mistake was watching it exactly like I had watched his other movies, but this one is so different you need to put on a different pair of glasses prior to watching I think.
