It's a legal requirement in Australia - if you are eligible to vote, you have to. It works, because the worst you get for missing out is like a $50 fine or at most a night in jail. The narrative is that those inconveniences give people just enough motivation to go vote and if they're going to vote, they'll likely look into it a little before they do.
Not a perfect system, but it's good for keeping engagement up. Besides, you can always donkey vote of you REALLY object to your options.

Spot on assessment of Vance; I've not seen anything outside of RNC propaganda to suggest otherwise--as Pete stated, it's pretty straightforward.
And there is more and it's chilling. There was an article yesterday in The New Republic (online news) by Gil Duran, entitled "Where J.D. Vance gets his weird, terrifying techno ideas". Please read it: it seems related to Project 2025 and Vance is involved in this. The information is quite chilling. Vance is likely aspiring to be Trump's replacement.

What's going on with Republicans importing Senatorial candates? Tuberville "represents" Alabama while his residence in Florida. In Pa., we've had 2 candates from other states (Dr. Oz from New Jersey and now McCormick fron Connecticut.) There's also one running in Wisconsin that's from California.
Pete needs to get more general exposure to the public and run for president one of these elections.

The only thing he forgot to mention is that Mayor Pete himself was also at Harvard and is part of that crowd who will say whatever he needs to get ahead. I was unimpressed by his poll tested positions and pivoting in the primaries in 2020. I think he has been lousy as a cabinet secretary, probably because he had no portfolio in air, rail, and ports at all other than maybe a tangential McKinsey project or two on his resume. The dems can do better.
