not really. Buttegieg is also not well informed or he's not telling you the reality of EV technology and its flaws. He's spinning things to make it sound great, when it's not all a bed of roses.
EV battery technology has a ways to go before I would buy into it. Charging stations are still sparse and not reliable and their prices fluctuate based on charging prices at the moment. Meaning, you can pay less in the middle of the night and then pay a premium price in the day time. Gasoline prices don't flucuate nearly as quickly.
Also, if charging at peak times, it can cost just as much to charge an EV, which gets worse range than ICE, ESPECIALLY when towing a vehicle.

Love Mayor Pete! Just bought my first no plug hybrid. Couldn’t be happier. Based on current mileage, I may have to gas every three months if I don’t take any long distance trips. If I didn’t live in the Midwest with limited infrastructure right now, I would have went full EV. 💙🇺🇸💙🇺🇸
Makes sense. Part of the thing that should get out is that more hybrids and EVs would actually lead to lower gas prices (lessens demand). It also means greater energy independence and lessens impacts from Russia and Middle-East conflicts.
I work in car sales and when people say EV sales are going down...I have to stop and question them. I would say easily near 50% of what we sell new at my dealership are EV's. Volkswagen

Not absolutely sure what the breakout of government ev purchases were in 2023, but I found that the govt committed to buying 9500 EVs and about 1.4 million EVs were bought total in 2023. So the govt % EVs bought was less than 1%.
As a Pennsylvania resident I am embarrased to have Scott Perry representing out state.

As a US Air Force crewchief for 21 yrs... I've been there when we stop flying training msns because of fuel shortages. Sure it's a budget thing, but if our civilian demand for gas is reduced, the military fuel cost is reduced & the oil reserves is increased too. Stop allowing politicians influenced by big oil to deafen you to the possibilities & capabilities of EVs

My understanding is that the EV ‘s will have remote automatic stops , so that you could be stopped by the authorities or by a hacker. I don’t like that.
