- The crochet challenge for Warm Up America has officially begun! If you want to participate and make a blanket for a child in foster care or healing at Children's Hospitals, all you need to do is make the blanket from this tutorial, and mail it to Warm Up America by March 20th, 2024.

I'm on my third blanket for this challenge. They give a short window because it's a challenge, but they definitely will still accept blankets after the 20th!
I'm a slow crocheter and need to be particular
I have been trying to get my first spiral done. My stitches are not pronounced like yours. I wish I could see the side view of where exactly the back loop is. Because I feel like I’m doing it wrong.
My spirals appeared flat until I turned it to a square, then it sat up. It looks like a cinnamon roll.😂

Is there a left-handed version of this tutorial. I did fine with the spirals but the squares are much harder. Thanks
I so loved making this blanket. Every moment of it. It took me 20 days and now that it’s done I am sad. That’s how much I enjoyed this blanket. I can’t say thank you enough for all the many hours of planning that must go into getting this ready for us. Such a great cause and I gave warm thoughts and love into my blanket for a child. I can’t wait to see what will come next year. Give your self a great big pat on the bag for a job well done! 🤗

What size yarn?
I love working with grannies! Last year I tried the feather stitch, but it just wasn't my favorite, so WUA got a few feather stitch sections 😅 and another pattern for the blanket but it was all to a good cause!

What do I do if I somehow managed to get my exposed spiral on the opposite side?
Pattern calls for 4.5 mm hook. What I am finding are US G-6 (4.0 mm) and US H-8 (5.0 mm). What do you advise?
Either one that gives you the proper gauge will do just fine 👍

I can't find the gauge for the spiral square. I saw the solid one is 4.5 inches and a little smaller than the spiral.
Sorry about the confusion there. It should measure around 5”
