In this video, we take a look at the possible future of Gotham City without Batman. What will happen to the city when the Caped Crusader is no longer around to protect it?
Some people believe that Gotham City will be nothing more than a ghost town without Batman around to uphold the law. In this video, we explore this theory and ask the question: will Gotham without Batman be the end of the Dark Knight?

I'm utterly unsurprised. Basically,
1) Despite her doomed-from-the-start idea being the very reason Vandal Savage nearly destroyed the Eastern Seaboard, Catwoman is treated as blameless in the entire affair, to the point that she has the gall to call Batman 'prideful', ignoring that HER pride played a large part in this. This is nothing new, shilling Catwoman has been the norm for several years now.
2) The Batfamily also receive no blame, despite their siding with Selina (tacitely or directly) and reacting to a Zur-influenced Batman with suspicion and violence (and not really attempting to help the few times they didn't) also had a large share of it. Instead, they dump all the blame on Batman without really looking at themselves. Also a recurring theme.
3) Batman, who ultimately had the largest part in saving the day, has ALL the blame put on him and UNLIKE the others, ACCEPTS the blame. He decides that he doesn't belong with the 'heroes' of Gotham and leaves. This is despite everyone knowing that Batman is struggling with his Zur personna. No one objects, and they let a man who has proven able to take down superhumans but is right now LITERALLY having mental difficulties leave.
This is all treated as fine and proper. Batman, alone and pretty much ostracized, shouldering all the blame. The Batfamily, absolved and treated as being in the right for some reason. Catwoman getting away with no consequence and feeling little-to-no guilt over her own mess-ups.
But what about what Batman did to Red Hood? Well, that absurd situation was likely included to drive home the point that the authors wanted Batman to be in the wrong. Because in the end, when its shown that Batman DID ultimately have a point about Selina's idea blowing up in everybody's faces, the only thing that the characters acknowledge is the Jason Incident.
Without the Jason Incident, there's really nothing in the way of admitting that Batman ultimately had the better point. And that, the authors couldn't have. In this arc, Batman was supposed to be wrong. Entirely, and without doubt.
Maybe they should have people who LIKE Batman, actually write stories where BATMAN is supposed to be the main character.
Similar to how they treat peter parker. The world has become nothing but myopic delusional children. And worst of all, those same type are the ones who have the power over these things. Its disgusting and sad.
We have not been getting the best Bat stories lately but thanks for bringing them to us.
Please DC just give Jason a solo series again and give him more respect
For someone who has contigency plans for everything, youd expect him to have ways to disable others from using his tools... like blowing up the bat cave or something?

To fix Gotham War, I would have Vandal Savage attempting to create a criminal organization to make sure that they can control crime and to decrease crime by 75 percent. This would cause Scandal Savage, Vandal’s daughter, to recruit members of the Bat-Family, including Bruce Wayne Batman and Selina Kyle Catwoman to defeat him and his criminal organization.
Bruce would tell the Bat-Family that Vandal last appeared as a member of the Totality (which last appeared in Infinite Frontier), in which he decided to do the Gotham War because he’s bored and that he wants to make a comeback after he died in Scott Snyder’s Justice League run and was resurrected after Death Metal. This results in the Bat-Family and Scandal defeating Vandal and his criminal organization, and Scandal injuring (but not killing) her father.
After this, many members of the Bat-Family decided to go they ways to have their own adventures and make sure that they’ll see each other again. That is how I should fix Gotham War.
Also, Jason Todd without having character regression he had for the past five years and Bruce and Selina staying married (although they prefer to call each other Bat and Cat because it’s cute and that they’re beyond husband and wife) since 2018.

This entire event was a waste of time and had a predictable end! Catwomans plan was stupid and was dropped but no one in the book is blaming her for it not the others for going along with. And they did this by predictably making Batman go over the top and cross lines he normally wouldn’t. Basically this event was terribly written from start to finish
Well Zur en Ar is a Batman. And wouldn't? Nah this the same guy who made Failsafe and Contingency Plans for the Justice League but not the Joker he totally would.

Catwoman’s thieves guild plan was supposed to be shortsighted, because it was to be about accepting the convenience she brought about the hypocrisy of it. Maybe the story could have gone better or maybe it was fine the way it was, but that’s the point of the guild. It wasn’t a bad plot point despite the guild being bound to collapse inevitably
This whole story is utter nonsense. They made the whole Batfamily fight over Selena's plan, which seemed so huge and groundbreaking, only to make them fight together again and forget the whole thing. Then, they made Batman drug Jason so that he couldn't fight anymore, only to have him ask him for help 2 minutes later.
Like… cmon. I’m just glad Gotham War is over.
I've not read Batman for ages now, sadly doesn't sound like things have Improved much with Gotham War.

I’m just glad Gotham Wars is over. I don’t think I like the direction they’re going with Batman but maybe the endgame will pay off. We’ll see.

I’m generally not the one to crap on stuff, but man this plot was just stupid imo. Like cool Bat is losing it mentally so Tim is there for him and points it out for everybody. But then they all side with catwoman to allow crime?? Like where is the loyalty amongst family? Even after Bat had to investigate a home invasion gone bad bc of catwoman???
And for the love of god why is that Jason can’t progress past this tired phase. Bro is arguably the coolest guy next to Nightwing and his character just stays stagnant.
I’m not ready to give up on Zdarsky quite yet. The first 2 arcs were so good! I have a hunch that Gotham War had a lot of interference from the top, since parts of it really aren’t consistent with his writing. Sort of a Spider-Man 3 situation, where Raimi only wanted Sandman as the villain, but Avi Arad and Sony also wanted Venom to attract more people. As a result, Sandman and certain parts of it are very well done, but the haphazard inclusion of Venom and Harry as new goblin turned it into a total mess. I’m sure DC wanted this big, easily-marketable crossover where friends become enemies and things are changed forever. They think stuff like that gets a ton of sales. But people don’t really care about big crossovers anymore. They care about good stories, regardless of their scale.
This wasnt a good ending given the initial premise. It just turned into a fight against Vandal Savage and other rogues. Nothing about the actual disagreement between bruce and selena was resolved.

It's getting worse.
I honestly really dislike this run of the batman. Feels like the writers always have to take something away from batman so that he wins because hes "hes batman he always wins despite whatever and at the cost of whatever." Feels like the whole story was there to put in some drama and a lazurus pit. It felt like they were trying to recreate some of the turmoil in the white knight comics. Was this entire story filler content for the big finale where the status quo is reverted? I wish they stop with the whole mopey batman, and give us back the dark knight of gotham thats trying to do good over "trying to be batman" Thats literally the plot of this whole run. Dont try to be batman, actually be batman. The only heroic thing thats happened is the whole saving lives caught in the crossfire.
I enjoyed reading it, I'm not sure what was so supposedly bad about it. I thought it created a lot of interesting angles for the future of the series.

I haven't read any of Batman yet, but just finishing Daredevil (aka PEAK FICTION) -- this is wild to read.
To be fair, he wasn't solely to blame, Howard and Rosenberg also fucked up.
What’s vexing is the Bat-fam not admitting their actions, and the cat's irresponsible actions nearly finished Gotham, and they can’t accept Bruce was right. I hate that the bat and cat are back together. It isn't very sensible. I prefer the grim situation in Detective Comics. P.S. I need Bruce to abandon Gotham so the GCPD, bat-family and the so-called other crusaders can save it since they believe Batman is just a child’s tantrum( nightmare). Or even better, if we go with the narrative of the supernatural aspects of Gotham that Bruce has faced so far will turn their intent to the denizens of Gotham so they can suffer. I wish it’s not bats that saves them but the phantom stranger and show them how foolish their notions of what Batman represents are.

Actually they have not been mistreating the bat. They are finally accepting that Batman is not a mentally healthy adult, which is a good thing for the society

@@Redhood11667 Bro, imagine if Red Hood betrayed Catwoman to take control of her army to then plot to kill all the major figureheads in Gotham's crime syndicates. Literally the Joker by himself makes up nearly 20% of Gotham's violent homicides and is linked through the mafia to almost 80% of all murders indirectly by his stooges which are of course, Black Mask, Penguin, Bane, Scarecrow and all of there lackies combined. Sure it's was Red Hood's plan anyway to betray Catwoman if I'm not mistaken and it would've been pretty predictable but it would've made a better story then this.

So bruce was right, but the writers wanted a reason to make him the bad guy. This was dumb. I like the idea of him losing himself to zur but why have it be this outrageous. It should have been more of a gradual slide that saw him move himself into the shadows and underground of the dc universe. This could have been a great way to see the insider suit return. Then you could let dick take the spot light within Gotham. Or my preference, have beuce die in the robin vs batman ark letting damien final take on the batman persona in the mainline universe.

It won't happen. The Cat and the Bat being together is as likely as WonderBat. Both chances are non-existent for some of the same yet entirely different reasons.
Reasons are Batman's moral code when push comes to shove won't budge when Selina needs it and won't budge when Wonder Woman needs it. Literally the only reason he is with them at this point is carnal release, and after that he releases them like sardines inside of a pond.
Don't get it twisted from now on, Batman doesn't love either Selina Kyle or Diana Prince, he just LOVES to crimefight. Hell he might even love the Joker of all people above those two.

I am soo tired of Batman not getting the final punch on the big bad. Like he and savage barely had a fight untill all those meteor bs happened. It feels so unsatisfying to see even after all this there is no simple ol punch to the face on the main boss... This following of the same pattern and predictable story arcs is why I stopped reading comics.

It's a whole long story. To sum it up, Bruce Wayne is not a mentally sane individual. He has several mental illnesses because of his long-standing war on crime. Zur-en-Arrh was originally a second personality Bruce developed to protect himself from psychological trauma in which Zur-en-Arrh is a distortion for the last words Bruce Wayne's parents ever said to him: Zorro in Arkham.
