    The reason I decided to finally do Snowdrop Tundra: Found a powerful Spheal

  • @BehFoot
    @BehFoot 8 месяцев назад +5

    Snowdrop Tundra is brutal in the first week, it's all about managing your expectations. Just need to accept that we may not hit Master or achieve the incense mission on the first time there.
    I did my first week in Snowdrop earlier this month without a single favorite berry mon, already given up on hitting the incense mission. But luckily enough, they updated the game with the patch that lowered the bar midweek from Master 5 to Master 3 for me, and I just hit it due to a Sunday meal crit.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +3

      Absolutely agree. I saw how other players faired on their first visit so I waited until I was as prepared as I could be before starting Snowdrop.
      But it was even more brutal after i failed tracking Monday night so all my mons farmed at 0% energy overnight and the double whammy with these situations is then the rest of the next day is running at 0% unless you have a secondary team or prepared to dump energy pillows or nap with recovery incense (which is what I did).

    • @BehFoot
      @BehFoot 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Bropenings
      Wouldn't it make sense to use the energy pillows in this situation? At researcher rank 50, you would've accumulated a number of them and we always optimize for 100 sleep scores every night anyway, doesn't seem like there are any other situations where we would need to save them for, unless you are also one of them hoarders of in-game items. XD

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      @BehFoot yes but I've already used quite a number of them to keep pokemon farming at 2.2x especially during important (e.g. event) weeks. I've only got about 2 left.

    Good team you got. Sorry your sleep didn't track, that is horrible.
    I am running 2x Walrein (40 and 33), 1 Raticate (25) all 3 bfs, then a Gengar (37) and Ditto (30). I just made Great 2 with a couple hours before I go to bed here on Monday night. I should be able to hit Master 3 by the weekend for the incense as well as cover the full range of the Pokémon I hope show up.

    Oof, sorry your game screwed up your morning so badly! Mine went similarly, the game crashed and I lost my research.
    My BFS Glaceon HARD CARRIED my Snowdrop team the week before last, and did major heavy lifting on my holiday week team. I am so glad I invested one of my 3 BFS Eevees into Glaceon. Honestly, your videos helped inform that choice.
    One is a Vaporeon, I don't have a Feraligatr or a Totodile worth investing, and wanted a bridge for my b-tier Croconaw and my Blastoise. It does precisely that, but I wish I'd held off and evolved him into a Sylveon instead.
    The third unlocks it at lvl 25, so I'm raising him to be an Umbreon. He sadly didn't quite hit the friendship for evolution (by just barely) by the end of my week at Snowdrop.
    I got a great suggestion from someone on Reddit when I commented on something regarding the grind trying to evolve weak friendship-evos without them feeling like a wasted team slot. They proposed essentially a "wash" week where I went to Snowdrop, knowing I probably wouldn't do well, and used a team of babies. Get their sleep requirements met, while also boosting the area bonus for next time. It's brilliant, honestly.
    Considering normal is a favorite berry, this suggestion effectively reduces Snowdrop from the nightmare it (frankly) is to anyone who approaches it without thorough planning and forethought into the PERFECT stage for raising Eevee into friendship evos.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      That's why I keep telling people to put their best BFS eevee into glaceon (along with some skill trigger ideally) especially before the holiday event. Thankfully from the holiday event I farmed myself a good spheal so it was less problematic for me. I never found a good enough eevee for glaceon unfortunately.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      Also a great tip for a throw-away week on sleep hours for Pokemon.
      I prefer not to have a "no fun allowed" week but that's just me.

    • @electroracc5225
      @electroracc5225 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Bropenings I agree with that sentiment, at least as far as building an entire team of Cleffa or such.
      But that tip allowed me to move past my thinking of that team slot being a complete waste. Cleffa might be the weakest link on a Cyan Beach team, but at least it's doing something.
      I've reached a point in the game where I'm really just trying to assemble a good enough force to take on the new content (when it arrives.)
      So, the tip made me see that putting an "in training" member grinding sleep hours on my team doesn't have to feel like a waste. Helps both with the aforementioned Snowdrop Eevee training, and with Pokemon like the BFS Cleffa I raised my last trip to Cyan.

  • @hariman7727
    @hariman7727 8 месяцев назад +1

    I have a BFS Umbreon, or will in two more levels. I also have a BFS 50 Raticate who is about 10 levels away from 50.
    I have a Houndour I could level up to 17 or 18 for Houndoom.
    And I have a variety of okay Spheals and other Pokemon.
    Edit: I'm probably going to spend the next couple weeks in Cyan, so I can crank some levels into my Snowdrop pokemon with little consequence beyond making getting the Master 3 Eevee Incense a little tighter.

  • @BroseidonLive
    @BroseidonLive 8 месяцев назад +1

    Still scared to hit snowdrop, but I hit friendship level 10 for spheal so I’ll be trying to farm a BFS one soon. Your team is sick though, once the bonus gets up there you’ll be hitting master easily

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      I've done the maths, and adding 50% to not very much is still not very much xD.
      Even with 50% area bonus I would've still been at only 3-4 spawns in first few days.

    Is it better to make the Spicy leek curry + 23 random ingre to reach 55 or to directly cook the dream eater butter ? I'm a bit lost in that chart because for me the ones on the top should be always the first cooked

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      This is one of those times where understanding the way the chart is done is more important than the chart itself. The chart is a beautiful compilation of dishes, but the top dishes represent the best strength per ingredient used. It just means you can use the least ingredient and provide the highest strength per ingredient. It doesn't represent the best overall strength.
      Dream Eater Butter Curry provides the highest overall strength, but requires 55 ingredients!
      Grilled Tail Curry provides less overall strength but only takes in 33 ingredients, so you can fit (compared to DEB Curry) 22 more ingredients. If you fill the extra 22 ingredients with Cacao that's an additional 3322 strength (before area bonus) which adds up to be worth more than DEB curry. In other words, it depends on what you fill the 'extra' ingredients with which one ends up being better.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      So back to your question.
      If you fill the Spicy Leek Curry (total 32 ingredients) with 23 more ingredients to be comparable with the 55 ingredient pot of DEB curry, and you fillled it with cacao (151 strength), then you'd be adding 3473 base strength to the dish. This works out slightly more than DEB curry by about 300 strength.
      However if you filled it with slowpoke tails it becomes even higher by 4.7k strength (do NOT waste your slowpoke tails like this however).

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      As a general rule: Spicy Leek Curry is better than DEB Curry if you can fill the pot with decent ingredients.

    • @guillaumeponcin7334
      @guillaumeponcin7334 8 месяцев назад +3

      Thanks for that big explanation - maybe it could be interesting to make a guide on Cooking in general for advanced players@@Bropenings Like should we give extra ingre even if we reach 0 or should the the top meal of the chart ever be made if you have the possibility for it :)

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +2

      @guillaumeponcin7334 I'll think about it. It's not an easy concept to grasp or explain and most importantly it's about what you have. If you don't have the needed materials it doesn't matter. If you do, both curries are high tier so you're still going to do well.

  • @RaizzenStyle

    on what tier you get the incense (mission) at snowdrop nowadays?
    before the last update it was master 5 for research rank 45+
    but iam atm at taupe and it went down to master 3, does that mean that we get the incense at master 2 on snowdrop?

    Would Glaceon or Umbreon be better for Snowdrop?

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  8 месяцев назад +1

      With good stats like berry finding S, I would swap in a Glaceon when my ingredient bag gets full. Is it better? In the absence of very powerful options like my BFS+HB walrein, or a very high level BFS berry specialist (e.g. my Feraligatr) and supposing you can dump enough candies to make the Glaceon/Umbreon to a high level, yes they can be good.
      I may swap a good BFS Glaceon in to replace Ditto/Marowak/Feraligatr depending on ingredients I need.
      However I have yet to find the perfect Eevee for Glaceon so this is my team atm.
