Gotta put yourself in their shoes. Gotta get in their mind and use your experience to figure out what shot they’ll go for. No different than poker. Thanks!!
Hi...just a small query..it's not related to this video. Suppose during service , when opponents reciver and reciever partner are at base line, after ball bounces in opposite sevice box then spins towards service partner .can reciever partner recieve that serve? What I mean is can reciver partner recieve the serve when ball comes to him instead of reciver after bouncing in service box?
no. the returner is the only person who can return serve. after that, then anyone can hit. the only time the returners partner can return serve is in Division 1 mens college tennis in the USA. If its a let serve, and the ball lands in the service box, the returners partner is allowed to return the serve. But that's a special rule for USA college. Not a normal rule in tennis. Thanks!!
Your contradiction confuses me ! Case in point, the above strategy shows that the receiving net player stands near the base line and NOT on the service line which on a previous episode of yours you OVER emphasize that position the net person should stand ! But in the above episode the receiving of service players win the point because the receiving net person was not in the position you previously stated they should be in ! I get your anticipation strategy but only because of the contrary positions of the receiving players ! Still enjoying your tutorials . Cheers Steve.
Def not a contradiction. Standing on the service line is the correct place to stand for 90% of the matches we play. But, when playing against a really strong server (or your partner is very, very weak), standing at the baseline helps you play better defense.

Hi Ryan,
You are so insightful!! Never heard anticipation explained this way👍. Your slow motion footage also makes all the difference. Sooo good❤
Love the psychology aspects in this Ryan. You can only anticipate a shot that you yourself would think to do. Very insightful!
haha love the zoom in on the partner's reaction! made me smile.
Haha I know right?! He was so excited for his partner. Awesome to see.
Thanks for another magistral tennis class, Ryan!
Really like the strategies and patterns of play videos … not only for the double but also for the simple
Thanks, Ryan. Do you have any singles playbook?
Yes! Here’s the singles playbook!

But the direction of your ball tell you how your opponent is going to respond to it. It’s really intuitive.
