id like to see more freedom with text editing/ transform options like arching texts and such. also love the variety of payment options. thank you so much for that.
Damn... this software keeps getting better and better! I've been using version 2 for a couple of hours now and boy am I impressed with the color mixing, multilayer liquify and hand scanner. Unfortunately, I don't paint a lot nowadays... but still Clip studio deserves the praise.
Would love to see more animation features down, but overall this was a pretty incredible update.

Sooo many useful features, it's amazing
I really enjoyed the Perceptual Mixing mode, it should be the default mode
Playing with color mixing it can affect some pens as I noticed that I was getting gray lines instead of black even if the line art was drawn on a separate layer as the canvas. It's a matter of experimenting with the settings of which tools you would like to have color mixing and how much mixing each tool should do.
@@dynamicsketch interesting, my pens usually has the mixing mode turned off. So I didn't noticed any difference with the blacks, but the colors really looks more natural with the perceptual mode
This program gets better and better. So happy with this purchase.

The 3d figure wrench icon opens up a place where you can change perspective of the camera, and there's also manga perspective to help with adjusting the figures to the fisheye grid.
I'll have to pay a lot more to upgrade EX for very little extra features compared to PRO, and the standard 2 licenses you used to get is now only one, so I have to pay twice fo my studio/home computer. I'll have to stick to 1.x

Suggestion: Make the head model attachable to the 3D body model. This becomes a tedious rig, especially when adding dynamic poses to the body, then having to readjust the head to match.

I'm a long term user and am currently enjoying EX for work, but am still on the fence about upgrading again... I think I will keep an eye on what more updates will be coming before looking into it further. My two main hopes for future features is 1) to expand the animation tools and 2) to please, please fix the CMYK settings. It's very confusing as an export only option with a long list of printer specifications. Among all the colleagues I ask for help on that topic, the one answer I always get is to have an old version of photoshop to transfer the RBG file into and do the CMYK color corrections there instead. It would be an incredible help if it was possible to have it as an available canvas- or layer type such as bitmap already is, and work in it from the start.
I like the hand scanner. Not payin a monthly fee for it though. Maybe 3.0 will get my business if the permanent license is still worth a dang by then
These features are included in the in the licensed version 2, right now for Pro upgrade it's $13. The hand scanner works extremely well. The subscription is only for future updates until v3 comes out. Once v3 comes out those features will be included. in the licensed version. I'm not sure why everyone keeps getting confused about this.
I'm waiting for the edit body 3d feature, I want to build my own character body, like adjusting his ABS, torso, and legs.
Also Makehuman has many options for body sliders it comes as a standalone or blender plug in. If your looking to generate more anime like figures Vroid studio is also pretty good. For backgrounds sweethome3d is good for building interiors and can export as .obj files.
Lots of good things. I'd like to see layer comps implemented for those of us who do a lot of sprite sets or illustrations with different versions. I find that doing visual novel sprites with different layer comps that I can then then use a script to save automatically rather than manually cuts out literally hours of work per sprite. It's the only feature I miss from Photoshop.

did anyone try to replicate their test with the blue and yellow thick oil paint brush? mine does not work like this (original brush settings with wacom pen). there is no grey. - i have the old cspversion without the new perceptual mode. but its not grey...
I would like to be able to work with layered tiff files in CSP.
Love the new features. What i would like to see on CSP: Best timelapse resolution, not everyone is running a slow machine. Complete fullscreen without any UI showing would be great also.
Also another cool feature would be when you draw a line it snaping to a line, a curve with bezier handles, an elipse, square etc, just like in Procreate, haven't seen any desktop do that, but would be a cool feature especially when using vector lines it would be extremely useful.

What I don’t understand is paying 129$ or 219$ for the EX version when the PRO version is already 90% of what in EX? Makes no sense I’d be paying over 2-4x the time amount just to get the last 10% of the software.
EX is for animators and comic artists, specifically manga. The last 10% you mentioned has all of the tools they need.

I have ver1 license and you need to get the Update Pass for this and thats on top of the Upgrade license. How much more promising are these updates ?
On my ipad air 4 i notice that selecting and transform seems delayed. Even more transforming selection from multiple layer. Then realise its been updated to 2.0 . Now thats took some hit on speed. Maybe theres some other function affected as well. Clip studio is heavy i know but speed penalty after upgrading is a no no. Any suggestion?
okay but the shading assist is REALLY helpful for webtoon comics or manga/manhwa etc.. it makes it much more easier to do them.
is there a way as an ex user to only pay for the pro upgrades? few features exclusive to ex isn't as worth it as just getting pro 2.0 features with ex being 2x plus te price of pro
I don't think so. When you upgrade you need to change the license in version 1 to a new version 2 license. Then install the version 2 upgrade, so I think it's linked to whatever version (ex or pro)you have. You could try shooting them an email and ask, but I doubt it. But you'd then be locked into the Pro version from that point on. You might as well upgrade just so that you can get the upgrade price for version 3 when it comes out.
Is the shading assist not avaialble for perpetual version 2?
Is this feature available in the free trial? I wanted to try it but I can't seem to figure out how to access it
Can we insert text on path ? Like insert text along a circle ? Is making me mad this simple function is not available
I have a question about the hand poser scanner. I use CSP on my computer which doesn't have a camera. How can I use the hand scanner with my setup?
Also all the features look great I'm so excited to start applying them. I think drawing webtoons just got a lot easier and a lot more fun 😆

Why we can't get the hand scanner for Maya or Blender?
Can we please have a better way to customise the side keyboard for us tablet users? I only need 1 major thing and 1 small thing and then I feel like the side keyboard would be so much better.
1. It would be nice to be able to customise the look of the T1, T2, T3, etc buttons. On my tablet I have T1-T9 available, but sometimes I forget which button was linked to what. If there was a way to change the name of the buttons to another text, or to any icon you want, it would be so much easier to quickly glance at it to see what button does what so you don’t press the wrong button.
2. For some reason the function “Hide all pallets” is disabled in the shortcut settings? I want to map for example T1 to hide all pallets for a big clean canvas to paint on. I get that you can have it on the command bar. But I can’t find a way to add it to the side keyboard?
Also to add onto that, having an option that the theme follows system theme would be nice. So it would be light during the day and dark during the night since my tablet swaps between light and dark mode depending on the day
Will be nice to add edge keyboard to Mac and windows there is many new display tablet now that is touch screen

I'm not able to get my new 3D heads to work in my program. I keep getting a message saying they're "Not Compatible". I really want to use them....

you can get more free ones from the asset store, there’s user uploaded ones there 🎉 i hope that helps and you can customize the basic one to your liking also
I am using the CSP Ver 1.13.2. Using Ver.1 since November of 2021!
However my current license does not support the latest version 2.0. I tried to install the new trial version 2.0 and somehow I can't entered the Clip Studio Paint app. It was blocked. How can I use the version 2.0 without being blocked?
Hey! I think all you gotta do is click on either the pro or ex version button at the bottom of the pop up screen that appears when you open clip studio paint, at least thats what did it for me! Maybe you already figured it out but if not hope i could help!

How to change back the language? Mine have been translated automatically to Portuguese and I want the English language back.
How did you manage to put it into Portuguese?
@@renathohaziel I didn't do anything... next day when I opened the app, suddenly it automatically was translated.
It should have within the interface settings, an option to change the language. I use my PC in PT-BR, but my ClipStudio is still in English, I just wanted to test it to see how it is in Portuguese, but I don't know how it changes either. I saw a video that the person removes the language files and leaves only in English and restarts ClipStudio
Every time staff demonstrates something it feels like they are winging it without any script or planning tbh apart from what features they need to talk about.

@@NikSewCraft because I remember they said the permanent version was going to get updates still, up until the end of a time. It was going to be temporary updates until they ran off updates for the old, I don't remember when that was exactly, probably 2.0 when it was first brought up. And I don't heavily follow csp on news each month. A few times I noticed stuff but not each month because of life. So that's why, I wondered if the new touch feature would be added. But maybe those updates are just bug fixes for the old version.. can't remember if it mentioned bringing something else to those updates.
@@Violetta-Marinetta The support they're giving are stability updates, so you can keep using them with the latest OS, not feature updates.
Everything looks nice except for "shading assist" which is not good in a lot of ways in the long run.
@@kullenberg I disagree. The shade assist has allowed me to explore different lighting and shading techniques that I wouldn't have been safe trying before in the interest of time, it acts as a good base to further change and refine if you don't have much of an idea at first with where you want your light source to be. It does have it's issues, especially with the cel shading and how refined that is, but no one can realistically expect this to be a one and done tool either. In the end, it's efficient and allows you to explore creative shading.

Hope using Arabic language gets to be accessable and convinent, it sometimes can be a pain transferring text from ibis paint to clipstudiopaint sense there is no support for the text characters.
Why is the 2.0 perpetual license only usable on one device? I purchased the previous EX version, and received the 2.0 upgrade. But my previous EX version was usable on 2 devices. The 2.0 upgrade is only usable on one device. This feels like a scam to force me to buy 2.0 for my laptop. This is a major oversight, or just scummy business practices.
Just to be clear, I don't mind paying for updates - but I do not do subscription plans, and an application should work on more than one computer.
@@TheMemagNeman When you upgrade to version 2, it specifically says you can use it for only ONE computer, regardless of what the online FAQ says. So, your post doesn't apply. Also, I tried - thinking the FAQ could be correct. It wasn't. I was only able to install version 2 on one computer.
@@TheMemagNeman I emailed the help support days ago asking to clarify the situation. So far, I've only seen a response saying they've received so many emails that they need more time to respond.
When I use my laptop and go into licenses (Help > Get Licenses), I can see that the 2.0 license says "deactivate and launch on this device". This is not what my 1.0 license says - that was able to be installed on 2 devices, and THEN had the message of deactivating. This is why I think they changed the license but did not update the FAQ. I hope I'm wrong.
@@theforgedone Strange that you were able to do that. I'd been using v1 for a couple of years and I was never able to use it on more than one device. I could install it on two, but had to deactivate the license on one machine before activating it on the other.
It isn't great that we should have to pay extra to use the software on more than one device though. It should be standard that it can be used on up to 2-3 devices, like most other software is.
@@andrewoakes167 Strange indeed! Are there any limits to deactivating/reactivating? I go back and forth between my desktop and laptop a lot.

@@theforgedone I've never tried, to be honest. I had a job where I needed to switch between desktop and laptop, and I couldn't bring myself to constantly deactivate and activate, so did the work in Affinity Photo instead. I want to keep using Clip, but when I have work that needs to be completed on more than one machine, I've got to use a different app.
I *REALLY* hope there will be different payment method for the subscription. I don't have a credit card and I think it's unreasonable to be gatekept to only people that have

I know the large range of payment options was probably hard for you guys but I want you to know that we really appreciate it! I'm not even kidding. This in an incredible update and i can't wait to get the license update to try it out!
For real, I upgraded my permanent 1.0 license to a permanent 2.0 license for my pc. And then I got a 1 year subscription for my iPad. Got both for 22 euro very nice

For example, the shading assist is handled entirely algorithmically.

Most these updates probably won't help my workflow much to be honest. Perhaps if paying for monthly fee AI features can be implemented, such as auto vector tracing inking using reference database models, onto existing pencils. Auto intelligent flat colors fill based on predrawn model sheet, especially usefull when coloring same character over and over, Ai tools that don't replace the artist yet streamline the workflow. Although creating advanced AI tools can take more resources I understand yet such features would be more useful to working artist to be honest.
Clip Studio already said before that they are not putting AI things to Clip Studio Paint, after worries from users...
@@idk-ig6wc I can understand concerns the tech is here to stay though no escaping it, will probably have to adapt to it, I do agree that stable diffusion models taken from non-consenting artist is ethically wrong. I think there's ways of using AI as tools to improve workflow without replacing the artist similar to writers using AI proof reading etc not to create the content but to aid in repetitive tedious actions. Individual animators could especially benefit from AI tools.

No thanks. It's already a burden to have to provide proof we actually make the art and not AI, integrating that into the software would make it even more of a hassle for those of us who actually use it to do art.
What's the point of using a drawing software if you're just going to use an ai generator to do the work for you? 🤦♀️
CELSYS has always been interested in adding AI features to the Clip Studio workflow. They had planned to add stable diffusion on the December 6th update, but they cancelled the inclusion citing both ethical and legal concerns. It is unlikely that they will revisit that feature in the foreseeable future, especially with the ongoing Getty Images lawsuit.
A good solution would be to have the ability to teach the AI to learn from your own style. Given you suggestions, based on your original artwork. More like an assistant than an artist that does the work for you. I pay for that :)
