To me, Dash isn’t just a level, it’s Robtop’s statement. It’s him realizing that in between 6 years people have took the same game and advanced it way beyond what he ever could. If it feels like he’s throwing everything at the wall, it’s because he is, and it’s him saying “here’s a whole ton of things you can do now, go nuts.” And when the level says “Geometry Dash” it’s his “yeah, this is the new norm” moment. It’s him going “This is Geometry Dash now, and it’s wild. Enjoy it.” And thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I feel like the ending of Dash is just a set up for Explorers, maybe Dash and Explorers are a connected level and Dash is just the first half of a tower. The deco is kinda similar after all.
IMO, the ending of Dash is a transition to the Tower, where the player will likely go next. This is reinforced by the fact that you seem to start in some kind of forest, then progress into a temple, and then find a secret way (omg geometry dash reference) leading to a... closed room, that you end up opening by counting to 3 backwards. When you finally break the wall, you see the mechanisms behind the temple that end up opening the entrance to the Tower.
75:23:44 is the best part, because its where colon finally stops yapping about a pixel in the background that serves as no gameplay mishap or change. but fr tho, great video and i'd love to see this again with explorers, when it (eventually) comes out!
Honestly the fact that you made a 40 minute video on a geometry dash level that takes only 1.5 minutes to complete really shows how much you love this level and it's potential. Constructive feedback is always important when it comes to anything, and I personally love how in-depth this video is. Can't wait for the 20 hour video on the Tower blue coins
imo the criticisms in this video are nitpicky, not constructive. the spider part at the beginning was confusing at first, but once you figure out what to do you don't forget it. as for the secret coins, not all of robtop's coins are obvious, and the first one in dash is just nonobvious in a new way. I think it's cool, and the little hints are a very neat touch - just because it's different and nonobvious at first doesn't make it bad. sure the second coin is hidden, but so was the third coin in stereo madness and those off-camera coins in other old levels. why is the one in dash so terrible? and the bit about the spikes at the beginning of the first swingcopter part - sure those might be annoying the first time you die there. but like the spider part, once you know they're there, you avoid them. it's really not as big a deal as it's made out to be in the video. the fire portal also looks cool AF. and again once you know that it's a robot portal you don't forget it (you also have some time to adjust to being a robot after you go through it). the complaints about the ship section are just skill issue. if you're going to complain about a ship section, complain about the mini ship(s?) in electrodynamix. and the part just before the end was cool too. maybe it's personal preference but I don't want a ton of crap going on in the background and robtop's levels always manage to strike the perfect balance of being decorated and polished, but also not cluttered and very easy to play.
No one will see this, but it’s just been bugging me. I don’t like the name Dash at all. It was a placeholder name, sounds too similar to fingerdash (especially for being ordered right after it) and it’s literally just half the games title. Personally I would have named it “rebirth” since the games been update-less for over half it’s life between 2.1 and 2.2, and the update added so much we basically got a sequel game.
rebirth is a bit too dramatic, but something that refers to what you're saying would be nice. like "rebound" or "restart," since we have a retro pixel art theme going

I agree. The problem is that 2.2 has now so many features. So Robtop did a great job trying to show up all of then in one level. But I agree that some parts could be better, but thats normal
I think people complain about the lack of decoration in the second half of the level because it's much less diverse than the first half. While in the intro you have a lot of variety in the textures used for the blocks, in the second half they mostly stay the same. For example in that ship part, the spikes that you have to fly through appear on tall, identical pillars that take up the entire screen. Some more visual diversity would've been welcome, I think. It just looks too gray. There's also basically no ground deco while it was a big part of the start of the level.
18:50 - RobTop probably made the portal look like that because of the shader effect right after. Since the portal looks like flames, the shader effect gives the impression of heat on your camera. But that's still not a reason to hide 4 portals at once....
12:29 I think there’s actually an extra 5th hint: The arrow sign you pass by at the start of the level falls off, revealing a green skull on the sign. This is probably hinting at the pulsing green skull block you need to hit later
1:53 the Deadlocked mini-wave is at 2.45% and the dash first spider is at 3.44% so deadlocked still has the quickest gamemode change in any official level
I think that the spider part is there to make newbies scared and go back to their level that they are actually on Like how deadlocked uses wave in a really scary way
@hugoscorner1682 Retrospectively…it’s not that hard, but a lot of newbies either don’t notice or flat out skip coins from what I’ve seen (and it doesn’t help that several coins in the early levels aren’t very good at telling you they exist)
9:22 yo I agree with almost all in this video to an extent, but I think the 3 arrow speed dash orb is actually REALLY SMART in terms of game design. Since it has become so common in custom levels, I think it sets players up to start on harder levels and even easy demons, which is what the last level of the game should do for its respective update imo. I think it’s a fairly seamless introduction Aswell.

Advice from someone that plays this game for 9 years now. Only play level that you find fun. If something is frustrating you to the point it makes you not want to play the game anymore, dont play that level then. This comes from someone that tried to beat hard levels, was too bad for them, got frustrated and stopped playing for months/ years sometimes. Always prioritize fun over anything. Its a cool game and I still play it a lot.

I like your idea with the third coin being "reeled in". I think that on top of that, the coin could be fixed from a gameplay perspective if the "chain" that reels it in breaks and drops it if you press too many times, making the part more precise so you don't just spam it. It might still be a little easy but I think it'd be a big improvement from the current difficulty
Robtop SHOULD add an update in the future, where he fixes ALL the flaws with his main levels. It will be very cool to see updates on the main levels. It will make the GD experience way better. Not just updating to add new stuff to the editor, the main levels have a soul, too.

27:42 this happens depending on the headphones/speaker that you're using. If you're using dollar store earphones or your phone speakers then you're almost not gonna hear anything. But if you're using stuff like a good pair of headphones then you can hear and even feel it. I believe this is called sub bass which is the bass you can feel (when incredibly low) but I may be wrong on that

9:22 yo I agree with almost all in this video to an extent, but I think the 3 arrow speed dash orb is actually REALLY SMART in terms of game design. Since it has become so common in custom levels, I think it sets players up to start on harder levels and even easy demons, which is what the last level of the game should do for its respective update imo. I think it’s a fairly seamless introduction Aswell.
It's not the 3x dash orb that is being complained about, it's the fact that there is a ball portal when the ball is never actually used.

Advice from someone that plays this game for 9 years now. Only play level that you find fun. If something is frustrating you to the point it makes you not want to play the game anymore, dont play that level then. This comes from someone that tried to beat hard levels, was too bad for them, got frustrated and stopped playing for months/ years sometimes. Always prioritize fun over anything. Its a cool game and I still play it a lot.

I like your idea with the third coin being "reeled in". I think that on top of that, the coin could be fixed from a gameplay perspective if the "chain" that reels it in breaks and drops it if you press too many times, making the part more precise so you don't just spam it. It might still be a little easy but I think it'd be a big improvement from the current difficulty

Robtop SHOULD add an update in the future, where he fixes ALL the flaws with his main levels. It will be very cool to see updates on the main levels. It will make the GD experience way better. Not just updating to add new stuff to the editor, the main levels have a soul, too.

27:42 this happens depending on the headphones/speaker that you're using. If you're using dollar store earphones or your phone speakers then you're almost not gonna hear anything. But if you're using stuff like a good pair of headphones then you can hear and even feel it. I believe this is called sub bass which is the bass you can feel (when incredibly low) but I may be wrong on that
