I'm a turtle. I wasn't thinking that was accurate, but then reading the description of the turtle, it seems about right after all. We were able to avert the issue of putting down our 18 month old golden a couple weeks ago after he had some dangerous reactions to neuter surgery and to the things to try to help him rocover. He's doing well now, happy and bouncing around playing with his Cavalier sister and keeping track of us. I feel for you and your family for the loss of your long-time companion. Thank you for all the creative, fun projects you do and the spirit with which you carry out the tasks. You are definitely right about needing to keep the "special ones". I have a mug I made that I absolutely loved as soon as it came out of the kiln. People have asked for it, and offered money for it, but it's staying home with me!

I've been eyeballing that Fire & Ice glaze. Mikki's chip and dip bowls are fab! I can't wait for her video. I'm glad the angle didn't take out anything when she took the nose dive. I find it amusing that soft red is more white/pink and soft pink is more red! LOL. Love the bowtie and glasses on the wolf. And, yes, dipping and pouring is much faster/easier for a lot of things. The other critters with glasses are super cute as well! The black and white plates are stunning. And that pie plate!!! Your son will live it. I'll finish watching later. Gotta run...dinner time! (BTW, my spirit animal is a bear)

Owl, and I taught at Temple U for a long time, the Owls! I live in the woods of VT and had an owl swoop down and fly right by my driver's side window for a few beats on my way home in the dark one night. Had to pull over and breathe afterward.
Turns out I’m an owl. I never would have guessed it. Back in March I had a nest of barn owls living in a palm tree in my yard. Late one night I heard the eeriest screeching. When I went outside to find out what it was I saw a huge white bird fly over me and a little later I found a young barn owl puffed up trying to fend me off. I went back inside and kept the dog in too. Next day the owl was lying on the ground dead. 😢 Two more babies were huddled at my front door and my neighbors said the parents would feed them. They fed them mice because I found headless mouse bodies. They found new homes and I had a new mouse problem. I got a cat. I guess the owl wanted me to get a cat. 😏 Stay muddy. Loved all your pieces!
Obviously, I’m a fairly new potter with all these glaze questions! 😂 When you re glaze something, do you just glaze right over the previous glaze? If I’m firing in cone 5 should I retire at Cone 6? Does it matter? Should I have opened my own studio having no idea what I’m doing 😂😂😂 But I’m having fun in my retirement!!!
Can you link the silk screens? When you put them on the mugs do you put them on then wax it and then dip them? I would love a video on using silk screens?

I went ahead and placed my Clayscapes order after looking at your beauties. As I am prepping for festivals I’m find dip and pour is so much faster and my Clayscapes glazes have been lovely. I’m a butterfly which inaccurate as I’m transitioning from full time teacher to full time potter. I’m currently laid up with a knee injury so the ideas are spiraling ! Better than focusing on the election I guess. So sorry abou your pup!
Have you tried coastal over cream? I think the trick is to make sure the cream is totally dry first. The studio where I learned to throw had all Clayscapes glazes, so I’ve used a lot of them but it’s been a while. Apparently, I’m a snake, shudder.

I would LOVE to see more videos. But, please take it slow. I am currently recovering from…. Well, God knows what. I had three falls last year and was in a pretty chaotic accident. I ignored things, because they didn’t hurt. Until they did. All this to say, please, please take it easy and let yourself heal. I know it’s hard. I’m just now coming to terms with the two steps forward, one step back concept. It’s so frustrating, but you will heal much faster if you listen to your therapists, (unless they are moving too fast, mine were). Love your work and all that you do. Take care.

Do you find it easier or harder to use the silkscreens on bisque vs green ware?
It depends. The silkscreens that are sticky on the back are easier in the bisque stage. If there isn't any stickiness, then I prefer greenware.
