So, I’m in Minnesota, USA, we are at -1 Fahrenheit. It is kind of wonderful to be watching the snow and listen to the crickets. ♥️♥️♥️😄. Gives me the happies.
Beautiful work! And how wonderful to see you have an emotional reaction to your art. You know you are doing something right when you connect like that to a piece you've made.
Yes I really fell apart for that tree! I did end up selling it though to someone who loved it just as much as me. I can always make another one for myself. Thank you for watching xx
Beautiful kiln unload! I hope you keep your rainbow tree. You deserve to hold onto anything that brings so much joy and emotion up in you. Wonderful work!!!
The Rainforest tree is gorgeous. I said well that's the best tree I have ever seen. Then you said "wait hold my beer!" OMG 😲 😮😮😮. You win the best ceramic tree ever. 🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏🎉🎉
Oh my you were up super early at stupid o'clock. Beautiful pieces and the large Christmas tree was absolutely stunning. I've seen a few people get emotional over pieces from their kiln unloads. Thanks for sharing, happy potting and take care.
Thanks for the shout-out, Jane. I am happy the pattern thing worked for you! I am so JEALOUS that your stars fired without bending! 😂 RedEft...Amanda from Oregon, USA Thanks for sharing, Jane! Hi nurse your foot!😂
That tip on the template was a game changer! I can't believe I hadn't thought of it. I think I got lucky on the stars this time. Although I did cut the wires shorter so there wasn't as much sticking up out of the holder thingy. I was a bit limpy on the foot Saturday, but it was fine by my market on Sunday thank goodness, because it was busy and I barely got to sit down. Thanks so much for watching. Sending love for your holiday season XXX
Oh wow, what a gorgeous kiln unload. Your trees are magnificent beaut stunning and a blast, specially the tall one with the yellow stars. Yes, that one gives tears to the eyes, so so beautiful 👏 you keep that one okay? Thank you for your pritty (and a bit emotional, which is totally okay) video. Bye 👋 Sheila (Yes, a sheila named Sheila) 🇳🇱
My Mother in-laws name is Sheila! I did end up selling the tree to a customer who fell in love with it too. I did shed a little tear as it walked away from me, but I don't regret it. If I can bring happiness to someone with my pottery that is all I can ask. I will make myself another tree :)
It was so nice seeing you and talking to you on the live!! Stupid o’clock is soo appropriate!!! Hahaha. I can’t get the saturation gold to work to save my life!! But I did see someone use it to put in texture and that has a really interesting effect! Ooh I love the idea of putting a little something in peoples bags!! I live in Iowa and make a lot of small Iowa cookie cutter shapes from any left over clay from slabs and I use them as test tiles and then I put magnets on the back and sell them so those would be a great little gift. Thakks. I do that like too! Such a helpful thing to do!! For that kiln post to make sure you don’t use it make sure to put a big X on all 3 sides with an underglaze pencil! I used to lean my test tiles against a kiln post and I made a bunch of kiln cookie rails that I put the tests on. It’s like a long strip that has 2 sides on each long side to keep the tiles standing as well as from getting glaze on the shelf. Hahaha. How funny trying to convince Nat that the seaweed can look beautiful! I love it myself. My gosh how fun are those glazes on the trees!! I honestly don’t prefer one way or another as to having one or 2 videos. If I have time to watch in one go I will, if not I usually remember to get back to it. Lol Glad you like comments. Sometimes mine get a wee bit long. lol.
Great tip for the kiln post, I found another cracked one too. Might be time to invest in some new ones. My customers love their little freebie hearts, magnets would be lovely too. I love comments. Unfortunately I am a little late with getting back to everyone this time and it is taking me forever to respond to them all, but that is ok :)
Your test tile idea is brilliant! Archie’s base colour was so interesting, I had always thot it had a green colour so really interesting yours was pink, lovely!
Yep, I had no idea what to expect of it because I couldn't even remember why it was on my to buy list, but I love it, can't wait to play with it a bit more!
Jane keep the tree!!! You have earned keeping one of the babies 🥰💕 I am gutted I got to Nats live right when everyone was saying goodbye 😢 man I loved everything in this kiln load - I love your charm mugs they are so cool - no wonder they sell super fast xx
It was one of my best unloads I think. I did sell the tree. A customer came along and loved it as much as I did. I can always make myself another one. Thank you for watching xx
Hey gorgeous! Thankyou for the shoutout n being at my live! I love the Jade platter! Bet it sells! Could u put a glossy clear on them fire then lustre? Wow Mardi Gras went green interesting. Keanes red earth? Oh the refire octopus mug looks great! Oh the feathers on the beachie is beautiful! Yep my combo! I just ordered Mayco turquoise sw201 to line Beachie as it is the base of celadon bloom. Oh love the pink one too. Oh another gorgeous Beachie u r a natural at it! Nooo seaweed bleh!! lol. Yeah I can see the pearl at the rim which yes I do like that bit. Thankyou for trying lol. I sort my glazes alphabetically. Hahaha nope. Seaweed on storm is glorious! The only seaweed combo I love. Oh that chun plum textured turquoise one is amazing!! Love the unicorn mug gorgeous! Yr welcome for getting u up early so u could do charm mugs haha. E6000 glue. Nightmoth looks like galaxy. Haha yr obsessed w me who could blame u?? lol. I would have said lustre the stars. Oh I think Amanda at red eft would love that tree as she has a tie dye channel too! Too funny I did a huge heart cutter in a bowl once too by accident. Yes I like the tree weird considering it’s a tree but I like the literal green. I like that the flux brings in an element of blue. I like the black muting the marigold. I’m glad u like it I hope it sells. Ohhhh the rainbow tree is glorious! Keep it! Love yr blending it’s gorgeous! Blue rutile textured turquoise what a happy mistake! Was it just 1 oatmeal? Does that help the blending? Googled it A thalassophile is someone who has a deep love for the ocean and sea. Still can’t see anything on the micro pearl maybe it’s my eyes! Great kiln. Sorry for my long comment! Much love from the east! Nat xx
Oh Jane what a fabulous opening! You did well doing the opening so early, editing and uploading so quickly too! So many beautiful glaze combos! The purple ones really catch my eye, so rich and yummy!!! I was wondering how you fired your testtiles, and was still confused until I spotted the side profile of your kiln stilts and saw they were triangular. Not seen any of those in the UK. Circular or square here. The bowls with spoons are so georgous, I can see why they were a best seller. Clever how you fire and glaze the spoons too. Clever way to add the stars on the top of yoir trees too, easier to lustre too! Oh your tree glazes are stunning....but then the last one!!! Was so lovely to see you get choked up at the beauty of what you created. That's such a magical moment for a potter, and something is telling you she needs to stay with you....eve for one year until she adopted lol Personally I think keep your videos as one session, as I had to break off half way through for commitments but it was easy to pick back up where I left off on the app. Keeps the flow and where possible I know we would all watch in one session mo matter how long! LOVE the charm mugs! So glorious! Very very special. Thanks for the video, the inspiration and hope you have a successful market!
Nawww, thank you for all those lovely comments Jeanette. You are such a beautiful soul. The emotion you express when you do your kiln openings is gorgeous, I love watching you. One session videos seems to be the main consensus, which is absolutely fine by me, less editing :D I did end up selling the tree. A customer came by at my market and fell in love with her too, so I let her go. I did shed a little tear as she walked away, both joy and sadness, but I don't regret it. I will make myself another one. Thank you for watching my videos, I appreciate your support so much xxxx
You HAVE to keep the things that bring you that kind of joy! I learned the hard way. No amount of money will be enough. Joy is joy, you can’t put a price on that. You can make more money tomorrow…
Hi Jane! I don't know why you dont like those two platters with Saturation Gold...they look pretty cool to me from here! 🤩Love your idea of marking where you put you glaze layers too! great tip! I still haven't tried the Jungle Gems yet but thanks for showing your different test! totally dig the way you fire your TT...very easy..thank you!! Yes, Archies Base is one of my FAV glaze and it's soooo amazing, I've never tried it on it's own, so I will have to give it a go! Thanks! Another Pink sista in AU! THAT bowl...WOWZA!! Beautiful kiln load!! Thank you for sharing! xo
Hi Sarah! Those two platters have had a mixed responses. But, they both sold at my last market so all good :). Jungle Gems get addictive, watch out if you dive into them :D. Yay, I'll happily take the title of one of your Australian pink sistas. Yes! You were the reason I had Archie's Base on my to try list for so long, I had forgotten why it was on my list, but then someone on here reminded me it was likely you that had inspired that add. I'll have to go back and watch some of your earlier videos to find your Archies Base combos. Thanks so much for watching my video. i have always loved watching yours and I feel extremely privileged that you would take the time to watch mine xxxx
Hi Jane! I love Archie's Base. Sarah Walton uses it in combinations if you're looking for ideas. Another in the Archies line that I love is their Frosted Topaz, which is beautiful with Frosted Lemon by Mayco. And, since you're into pinks, try Coyote's Magenta Scky and Rhubarb. That Oatmeal over Seaweed seems to have gone opalescent. Oatmeal does some cool things in combination. I have to run for now, but will finish watching later. The trees are pretty!
Oooooh the rainbow tree is gorgeous Jane . You’re not an idiot. I love the green one from Nats suggestion too, heck as usual I love everything. Good luck with the last market ❤️ I’m so curious how much would you sell the large Xmas trees for ?
Love love love the rainbow tree! Surprised the oatmeal over the whole tree didnt run very much... Do you put it on 2 coats as thick as it comes in the jar, or watered down?
I did sell end up selling it. A customer came along and fell in love with it too, I figured I can always make myself another one. I did shed a little tear, a little sad, a little happy as it walked away from me, but I don't regret it. xxx
It's really not necessary to do two videos. Those that don't have time to watch the whole thing can pause and come back. I prefer one video. I love all your trees. I bought some of that gold that you use in the oven. I'm thinking maybe it would be ok if it's not used on big areas. Like painted hearts or stars. Thanks for sharing your work.
Yes, that seems to be the main response I am getting, one video is fine, all good by me, less editing :D. I was really happy with my trees, couldn't have asked for better results on them. Good luck with the oven paint, I think it has it's place and it is nice and easy. Thank you for watching x
The edge of your first platter that you don't like looks like how Potters' Choice Art Deco Green comes out. I think it is lovely.
So, I’m in Minnesota, USA, we are at -1 Fahrenheit. It is kind of wonderful to be watching the snow and listen to the crickets. ♥️♥️♥️😄. Gives me the happies.
Oh goodness! 34 degrees celsius here today! Thank you so much for watching x
Love the trees!
I was really happy with how all the trees came out. thank you for watching x
Beautiful work! And how wonderful to see you have an emotional reaction to your art. You know you are doing something right when you connect like that to a piece you've made.

Keep that gorgeous tree!
I did end up selling it. a customer came along on Sunday at the market and fell in love with it too. I can always make myself another one :)
@ yes but I bet you won’t. You’ll be sick and making trees by that point.
I love a long video, too. I can pause if needed. I appreciate how you get to the opening quickly, the chit chat comes along with the pieces. thank you
That seems to be the general consensus, to leave the videos long, which is totally fine by me, less editing :D Thank you for watching X
I loved this video and your honesty and true self showing through. Beautiful soul and beautiful glazes
Nawwww, thank you. I love what I do :)
The Rainforest tree is gorgeous. I said well that's the best tree I have ever seen. Then you said "wait hold my beer!" OMG 😲 😮😮😮. You win the best ceramic tree ever. 🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏🎉🎉
:D :D :D. I was pretty happy with my trees. Thank you for that wonderful accolade :)
Oh my you were up super early at stupid o'clock.

Love it Jane❤ as always! Working on your mug, wanting it to be an Ellen mug.
What a beautiful kiln unload! The trees are all stunning!
Thank you lovely. I still have plans to try and do one of your ocean trees. x
I agree , it is beautiful! Keep it as a model for making g more.

Please tell me you kept that beautiful tree! I love the charm mugs and all the trees! Have fun with your family!
@FunkyPhish still deciding if it is coming to the market with me.
Fantastic kiln unloading. Keep the rainbow tree! At least for a year, then maybe sell it next year.😅
Thank you. I did end up selling the tree to a customer who fell in love with it too. I can always make myself another one. Thank you for watching x

The archies base, was used alot by sarah walton a couple of years ago. Love your content as usual.
@@jaclynsbeach1307 that is likely where I saw it then. I'll have to go back and watch some of her earlier videos
Hi,I love Archie's but it's a runner! It is stunning over Coyote Desert Sage. Jessica
Oooooo, I'll have to look into getting some Desert Sage. Thank you x
Don’t sell the tree, you deserve it from all your hard work!
I did sell the tree, a customer came along and fell in love with it too, so I let her go. I can always make another one :)
Lol it was the same for me with the arches base
Oooooh the rainbow tree is gorgeous Jane . You’re not an idiot. I love the green one from Nats suggestion too, heck as usual I love everything. Good luck with the last market ❤️ I’m so curious how much would you sell the large Xmas trees for ?
I actually am not sure how much to put on the large Christmas tree, I'm tempted to price it high to put people off buying it 😅
Well I think you should keep it. Do you check your website often, you really should 🫣
Keep your favorite
I did end up selling it to a beautiful customer who fell in love with it too. I can always make myself another one :)
Love love love the rainbow tree! Surprised the oatmeal over the whole tree didnt run very much... Do you put it on 2 coats as thick as it comes in the jar, or watered down?
I only did one coat of Oatmeal the whole way and then a second coat to only about half or so, mine is pretty thick
@janesshoeboxstudio5829 thanks for the info. Mine's thick like school porridge 😄 including the weird lumps!
YOU HAVE TO KEEP HER! Sell her next year if you must. When a piece creates such emotion, you need to keep it, at least for awhile!
I did sell end up selling it. A customer came along and fell in love with it too, I figured I can always make myself another one. I did shed a little tear, a little sad, a little happy as it walked away from me, but I don't regret it. xxx
Archie's Base will RUN, looks beautiful in combos but be careful where you put it.
Ok, thank you. I will keep that in mind for when I use it on the outside of pieces. i am looking forward to playing with it a bit more.
I just wanted to tell you that I love your charm mugs. I want to try making them for my family. What do you use for your wire?
It's a nichrome wire I purchase from an Australian supplier called Siren Pottery Supplies. But I think you can get it on Amazon.
You better keep that tree you will regret it if you dont
It's really not necessary to do two videos. Those that don't have time to watch the whole thing can pause and come back. I prefer one video. I love all your trees. Hey
How do you do your spoons in de kiln?
I use some straight stilt things, I think I showed it in the video.
