Kiln Opening, 18 October 2024
I had hoped to get this video up on Friday night, but it ended up a crazy, exhausting day. So many of the pieces from this unload have already sold over the weekend.
Made on the Left was a fantastic 2 day market. There were so many wonderful stall holders and customers alike. I really enjoyed it and had a very successful sales weekend also.
I decided not to add captions this time as they were crazy inaccurate on the last videos, sorry. Apparently, I don't speak clear enough for automatic captions to be generated for me 😅

My second kiln unload upload. I've split this one in two parts for you so your not stuck watching a 50 minute video all in one session. I've added captions to this one just in case the audio is still a bit quiet and I even added a tinsey bit of editing! Mostly great pieces in this one with only two real fails, one really big one which has left me a lovely mess to clean up. Other than that there...

Inktober 2018 Day's 14 to 19 No terrible voice over audio!

So watching my other video of Day's 14 -19 of Inktober 2018 I have realised just how bad the audio in the voice over is, so this one is uploaded without voice over, just music. If you'd like to check out the pieces in more detail as still shots head on over to my other social media linktr.ee/janes_shoebox_studio

Welcome to my third A3 doodle for Inktober 2018. It's my Monster Party! I really hope you enjoy this video, but you will have to please excuse some of the poor audio in the voice over, apparently my microphone decided to be a bit of a pain today for some reason, but this final voice over was about take 6 and I just did not have it in me to do anymore, sorry. @magicdragondragon5560 I was actually a little sad when all of the Jacks (pumpkins) sold on the weekend, especially the pink one, he was my favourite.
Hi. So glad I found you.
@@magicdragondragon5560 I'm grateful you found me too 😊
Great video! I really appreciate you getting to the unload quickly, without 4-5 minutes of chit chat. You know your glazes and moved through your pieces at a great pace. Jessica
@seahorseceramics thanks Jessica 😊
Another great unload! I like longer form videos. Yours are packed with great info! Love the raspberry mist, poppy fields, and soft red combo 😊 thanks for sharing.
@finklepottery704 thanks so much again. I am so grateful to have you as a subscriber.
What gauge and alloy of wire are you using at what cone? I think you said cone six. I used some I thought was made for high fire only to open the kiln to find they had slumped. Thank you for the inspiration!
@avermontlife I can't remember the gauge of the really thick wire I used on the Boosheet balloons, I can measure the thickness for you today though. It is a nichrome wire made for high temperatures.
@@janesshoeboxstudio5829 Thank you ever so much.
@avermontlife I just measured, from what my shocking eyesight can tell it is about 1.4 millimetres thick. Hope that helps 😊
@@janesshoeboxstudio5829 Thank you again. I also learned that I can try to weigh the ends of the rods down so that they do not slump. Cheers!
@avermontlife oh, you were asking about the wire holding the charms. That one is actually more like 2-3 mm I think. Just be careful you don't hang too many things from one piece. Spread them out and use three kiln posts to hold one wire if necessary. As in a kiln post, two of your glazed pieces, another kiln post, two more glazed pieces then another kiln post at the end. I hope that makes sense?
Blep blep so cuuute

I have your latest one in my To Watch playlist at the moment 😄 Thank you so much 😊 I have just noticed when my family watched my video back on the TV that my sound isn't great, I will try to fix that when I do my next kiln unload tonight.
Beautiful pieces 😍
@intothearts1205 thank you 😊
Congratulation to your first filmed kiln opening 👏, enjoyed watching it. Very beautiful pieces and glaze combinations. Looking forward to your next video 😊❤
My first comment, how exciting! 😄Thank you so much, I am so pleased you liked it x
Awesome!
I went to your drawing class
Lovely results!!!
Thank you. I love the anticipation of what is going to come up in the prints each time 😊
Just beautiful. I did a batch of eco prints recently. They were so beautiful that I could not bear to cut them up for projects so I made color laser copies to make into things.
I used most of mine in some handbound books I made, then some others I framed.
i am eco printing and more.
so how much do they sale for. I am on disabilty and i make extra money from my crafts and more. i have an esty site, joanvalkyrieshort, have a you tube life prepper.
Great work!
Thank you :)
Just amazing Jane, I love watching you draw. So talented and inspiring. :-)
Thank you so much Sharon! Such a lovely comment, thank you for visiting my channel xx
I love is book...I have only just begun experimenting with eco printing. How did you manage to get your double prints? I have a stock pot that I use, but it’s nowhere near big enough to get sheets of paper the size that you have printed on...or did you use a roasting pan or something?
Hi Christine, I am so sorry I missed your comment. I boil my papers in a baking tray on the stove top. The only problem I have with that is that I have to keep topping up the water as the tray has no lid.
Jane's Shoebox Studio Hi there, thanks for your reply, Jane. I tried using a roasting pan for some tea staining and I wondered if it would work for eco prints...I shall have a go tomorrow, as I did see a video made by a man who used a roasting pan too. Glad to know that’s what you use 😊 I’m very happy with my results thus far. Now all I need to do is collate it all and begin stitching everything together to make a book. Oh, happy days. Thanks again....Chris
You look so relaxed when you draw Jane, beautiful work as always x
Pixie Gifts thanks so much, that was a lovely comment xx
