Strasburg Railroad could expand their steam passenger service beyond Leamon Place Junction and Paradise to a new freight yard then runaround the train on a new runaround section. Something new and something different. That's what I recently hope for. It's like trying something special.
This is all very nice , but where is the wye to allow the train to be turned ? TVRM does it right in Chattanooga, TN. Turntable at East Chattanooga, wye at Grand Junction. Just sayin' .
They don’t have a wye, they just run the engine around the train and head back to Strasburg. Running an engine backwards isn’t really an issue for a line of Strasburg’s length.
@@mercury7590 Do you not think that running a locomotive tender first is a good idea ? If there was a wye , the locomotive would run properly back to the depot and then turned on the turntable there. As I mentioned, TVRM does this and it works perfectly. The line there is maybe 4-5 miles long.
You do know Strasburg doesn’t have turning facilities at Strasburg either, right? So they’d turn around at the junction, head back to Strasburg, and then leave backwards anyway. It isn’t necessary.

I don't know if that run around is long enough for the passenger consist, but if it is I second that if they feel that it would benefit doing that.
Perhaps they could put a passenger station down there. They could exchange passengers with Amtrak, even!

@Reggie Arford can't argue that... the Keystone service along with the Regionals are not hateful I never had bad experiences with them
