I can’t believe I am seeing this as I have been suffering from sciatica for months and decided to try a leg swing and it worked so well! Now I have just seen your video and discovered that it is recommended!! Well, it worked for me!
Funny how we used to do this just for fun as kids! However, I don’t remember it feeling this good. I didn’t feel comfortable doing it on a yoga block so I used my stepper instead. I was only able to do 50 this time so I’ll build from there.

A very good exercise! Immediate benefit. I can do it even though I had total hip replacement 5 years ago. (I checked with my PT first.) I do sets of 40 different times throughout the day. Hoping to increase the number each time. Thank you!
Great job! But don’t rush to increase the number right away. Stay at 40 for at least for a few days (allow of muscle to get stronger and rebuild) then increase the number of repetitions 🙏🤗
I’m not new to Qigong but I’m not practicing every day. It just so happens I have osteoarthritis in my knees and my left hip has been hurting. I’m walking more though. Keeping a block out will get me moving. This exercise is actually telling me, my hips need work. My left knee and hip are weaker than the other side, so I had to stop a couple of times. This movement is very challenging for me. I dont even reach 20 swings per leg! I have all kinds of issues from my lower back through my hips, knees, feet to all my toes. It really ages a person. This "simple" exercise will release, restore and strengthen. This low impact is what I need. I feel it. Not to be under estimated! I had to come lie down after a few sets of 15 swings each!!! Thank you 😊 ❤❤ Ànd this movement works bòth legs while doing it.

I have to look up the word ‘crepitus’. Now I understand what it is. I have a lot of that myself - my knee, my elbow, my shoulder all making crackling sound. Indication qi is not flowing smoothly through the areas where it makes the crackling sound. There’s no single point to address crepitus.
Kegel is a great way to strengthen the pelvic floor. I started doing them in my early twenties, I'm 58. It is very easy to do anywhere! No one knows you're doing them unless you make faces while doing it. 😂 Then they just wonder what you're up to. 😊

When teach my qiyoga classes I always cue my students to pull up their pelvic floor with each exhalation during different poses. Trying to get in a good habit of always engage the muscles in the pelvic region when breathing out. Try to do it as often as you can remember.

@@alanduncan9204 you can swing your elbows, I’m not kidding. Also massage where the paint is at the elbow. People tend to have more pain in their knees joints but not in elbows is because in we most days we swing our elbows often without realizing 😊

Thank you, I have recently found your videos...first the lymohatic flow one. I have Lympedema in my (mainly left) legs since lymph node removal during major abdominal surgery to remove cancer (and almost everything else!!) and I am very keen to help the lymph continue to flow through my body as I know that lymph blockage is very likely. Already my left ankle and lower leg are slightly larger than my right. I want to keep as active and fit as possible for as long as possible and walking far is not an option.

I’m completely new to Qigong and I really enjoyed this!! I was able to make it to 100 (not easy, but I did it! 🎉! ) Ironically I was feeling it more in the standing leg - and that was the leg that really needed to hang in there for me! 🥵
I am in my late fifties, long time ago I was feeling weakness when I went upstairs at my work place, now I am having a lot of leg pain in my calves mostly. My doctor has not pay much attention to that, so I am looking for exercises to help myself. I think this exercise could help me. Thank you very much.
BTW there is another teacher introducing leg swings ( Mu Yuchun) but he does not advise pointing toe back during the back swing. I wonder what the difference is. Thank you.

Thank you for the message, please do take time in adding repetitions, to allow the muscle to get a bit stronger first.

I am in my late fifties, long time ago I was feeling weakness when I went upstairs at my work place, now I am having a lot of leg pain in my calves mostly. My doctor has not pay much attention to that, so I am looking for exercises to help myself. I think this exercise could help me. Thank you very much.
