Delaney in my opinion is one of the greatest musicians of all time. His voice and writing are incredible and with his musical instincts he is really undervalued as a musician.
50 years and You finally got RECOGNIZED on Bell Bottom Blues-- I can't even imagine that song without BOBBY'S contributions. You're a Humble man!! Patience is your reward. But as a musician myself, I am using one of your stories and writing a song about it. No names will be mentioned, but certain phrases will indicate who the stroy is about. Doubt it. Acts like Delaney & Bonnie will probably sadly never be inducted. The rock hall nowadays is moving further away from those kind of groups & particularly the 60's & 70's. Johnny Rivers isn't even in the hall yet. Nowadays the rock hall has lost credibility & now inducts anybody whether they deserve it or not. It should just be the music hall of fame instead of rock 'n roll hall of fame. I have ALWAYS loved the music of Delaney & Bonnie.

I saw Delaney & Bonnie open for Blind Faith. Perhaps the best live band ever. I think there were eleven of them. High energy rock'n'roll! Way too good for an opening act. I would not have wanted to follow that band! Clapton was so impressed he quit BF and joined them!

Do you remember playing with Duane Allman instead of Clapton at Carnegie Hall.....with Delaney and Bonnie I was at that show....think it was fall of 1970 King Curtis was there too that night...
That's the night I said I want to play guitar like that ....just started playing.... Duane was my inspiration to learn how to play....saw him two more times before he passed..... been playing guitar ever since..... I'm 71 and still play.....that was some show....you guys blew the roof off of that place.....

Question for Bobby - Were you playing organ on Delaney and Bonnie's first LP, Home, on Stax Records? I was unaware of this record until a month or two ago...first I had ever heard of them was when you all toured with Blind Faith. I've heard that the MGs played on Home and Duck produced...so I assumed he played bass...but was it actually the MGs (with Duck) who played on the whole record... I read that some tracks were recorded with their band and Leon Russell on piano and Carl Radle on bass and I assume you on organ...out in Hollywood. Is that correct? Are those sessions what you're referring to in this video as your initial recordings with D&B?

I would like to know how Delaney had changed, or hadn't changed, from the days with Bonnie to when you were with him Coco. Bobby said his ego messed things up, was he humbled by the time you knew him or was he the same guy? He was such a charismatic talented person - seems like he should have been a major player for many more years than he was.
No, unfortunately he remained the same. He was abusive and generally to that point AA warns of.. hospitals and institutions..psych ward.... I was in denial for a long time, but it got so bad he was dying. I had to escape with my life because he would have killed me. Now, the other side likes to paint a very different story. They didn't know mine as far as the intensity of abuse. He had a moment or two of lucidity, they were short lived. Ultimately, drugs and alcohol killed him. He had so many enablers... his mother being the primary.

Hangers-on enjoying the thrill of the moment, in the meantime - this person is cumulitively destroying themselves day after month after year. I trust that in the beginning it must have been great, or at least very good, for you to be together? Such a talent wasted - reminds me of exactly what happened to Jaco Pastorius, the great bass player. At least Delaney got to see later years.

Duane Allman was another of the significant guitarists that played some with D&B. Bobby named Eric Clapton, George Harrison and Dave Mason.
