@@douglasb5046 the writing is absolutely incredible! it HITS HARD. Look at all the people that loved working with them and thought their music was great. The best writers think they were the best writers...
He sure made some awesome music. JJ Cale, Leon Russell, Bobby Whitlock, Eric Clapton, Carl Radle, George Harrison. Seems the great ones gravitated to each other.
The "wife" he refers to was me CoCo, certainly not the woman in the final photo. The record that we were doing was called Home. After all these years, it makes me reflect on the abuse and how he would never mention my name to anyone.
@Bobby Whitlock & CoCo Carmel : Thanks CoCo Love watching your channel and your a good person in my book , especially for clarifying why we don't hear your name being mentioned here ! ... Thank God you later met and married a decent good man Bobby Whitlock !!!
Hey sis, just saw this for the 1st time. Have listened to you & Bobby everyday for 1 1/2 yrs, love yall so much. Was just thinking of why He never mentioned you, and here you are....so sorry. I knew it was you cause he mentioned the sax & flute! Well, he sounds like a homeboy from my Mississippi, but not the abuse, it is shameful. But, praise the Lord, then came Bobby, yall both did well! Yall seem like old friends to all of us, because that's your hearts. Lord bless you and your home, Mrs Coco, you sure deserve peace and on all the new music!! Yall are loved and appreciated for sure. ✌😎
I just checked the Wikipedia article on EC first solo album. Delaney's name has been added to the song writing credits. Would love to know the backstory of the lawsuit and its outcome.
To me, Delaney's reputation of poor character, outweighs any bit of genius. I appreciate his talent but there is a self-serving nature that makes me cringe.
Every time I watch a YT video about Delaney and Bonnie and even other band members someone brings up Bobby Whitlock, and always about something Bobbie says against D&B. This is an interview of Delaney, may he rest in peace. Indeed, Bobbie was crucial to their sound and went on to be essential to other greats. But his disdain is like a cancer that many people feel the need to spread.
I saw that interview. Gave me a really sucky impression of Delaney and Bonnie. The movie, Vanishing Point was when I first learned of them. That was in the early '90s. Prior to that, I would have heard of them had they produced a hit song on their own. Just didn't happen.
He had a major major impact on music, still to this day
Awesome for an Australian radio station interviewing Delaney, he and Bonnie were simply incredible. Good on you mate!
Him and Bonnie in my honest opinion need to be in the Hall of Fame.
kursed parasite they were a great live band. Not so sure about their writing though and maybe Hall of Fame put more weight on former.

And Derek and the Dominoes too.
Amen to that brother
Bramlett was from Pontotoc, Mississippi
He taught George Harrison how to play slide guitar,
and Eric Clapton how to sing.

Thanks for the information, CoCo. Love to you and Bobby from México City💌

At 22:20 Delaney talks about this bass-player that "can play anything but he can't think of his name." That about says it all for Delaney Bramlett.
Great job on your interview 😊
Totally underrated. A real musical treasure.
Go listen to Bobby Whitlock and CoCo Carmel. Bobby lays down a lot of truth about Delaney.
yup, he lays it out on everyone, including himself. he aint got much of a filter which probably has sustained him all those years.
Mighty fine memories
Tupelo, MS is Elvis' Birthplace.
My Mother and Father also went to school at Randolph. I’m a Pontotoc son like him.
He said he was from Mississippi. Later on he stated” when I first came here”? Don’t get those sideway, they were talented. Don’t lie, ever
He was born in Mississippi so what’s your point?
@@drummer78 are ya sure?

The Leon Russell bio talks about the toxic atmosphere around him and Bonnie. He was violent and abusive but there’s no denying his enormous talent.

Sounds a lot like Elvis did. Am I crazy?

I remember Sheb Wooly creating funny lyrics to big hit songs. Ala Wierd Al .
Delaney also stole a lot of people's music, ask Bobby Whitlock.
10 min from fame
Nice guy (uh huh).... ask him about Bobby Whitlock's necklace that Eric gave him.

Please elaborate? That's my dad and I forgot that one.
He talked about it with Coco. It's on You Tube.
