"i dont make the rules - i just think them up and write them down" still one of my, if not my all-time, favourite Cartmans lines. still waiting for a time i can use it myself ... but that day will come.
My favorite but obscure time Cartman was right was when he corrected Principal Victoria in "The Cissy" by telling her "gender identity has nothing to do with sexual orientation".
True, however Cartman definitely ended it in a way more gruesome way than necessary, like he could've just made Scott eat Pig Anus Chili or something and still made his point without needing to feed a ground up person to another person (though I guess Cartman technically screwed himself nearly as much as he did Tenorman since he later found out Scott's Dad was his, meaning he ground up and cooked his own father and fed him to his stepbrother 🤮😂🤮)
Facts. Scott learned a valuable lesson you can’t control how someone will respond after do something to them first. Eric did have a gruesome response but Scott should have just left Eric alone
As someone who did have his tonsils removed as a child, I was able to talk after the procedure, but due to an infection I had to go back to hospital for a few days and during that time I couldn't speak for around a week
With Cartmanland, Cartman could've used his authoritah as the owner to make it so he can skip the lines! Or close the park for one day a week so he can use the park for himself.
He didn't want it one day a week, he wanted it constantly. Cartman is never going to accept one day a week with zero annoyances, he's a very all or nothing person.
The correct phrase in English is "you can't eat your cake and have it too" which makes sense because the cake is now gone, but somehow it got lost in translation going across the pond and ended up with "you can't have your cake and eat it too" which makes no sense. I can’t wait for this one as much as cartman can be a little demon there are times he is either right or gose out of his way to help others but that is very rare to happen
I said this the last time it came up but the reason why Kyle is laughing so hard is because Cartman for many episodes has been making fun of Kyle telling him he has aids, wishing he had aids, etc etc. And while he didn't do it in this episode, Cartman constantly made fun of people with aids.
I dont understand the whole playing god argument people always say. If keeping someone on life support is playing god, isnt any other life saving method? Like a pacemaker or a major surgery, or anything that keeps you alive when you would have died if they didnt do it
The thing i couldn't stand about Cartmanland was the Kyle plot. It begins to show that Kyle's hatred for Eric in the show is downright psychotic and destructive. Cartman inherets a ton of money? Kyle stresses himself so much he gives himself a life threatening hemorrhoid while playing the victim card the whole time. Cartman might have more sex appeal than Kyle? Kyle contemplates serial arson. Cartman took a girl Kyle liked? Kyle takes a page from his mom's book and blames Canada, resulting in having President Garrison launch a nuclear strike at Canada. People always point the finger at Cartman when he does wrong, which people should, but often tend to make excuses for the other side of the coin.
For Heidi , Kyle was wrong but Cartman litteraly manipulated Heidi 's mind and she became like Cartman . But the difference is unlike Cartman who directly attacks his true ennemy , Kyle wanted to change his mind and the society. It is why in the later season Kyle isn't Cartman 's rival anymore. Against PC Cartman still found a way to win in the end but Kyle just gave up his ideal and after this he couldn't even say his speechs
1. This was literally right after the Scott Tenorman incident. Stan also wanted to break in too, and Kenny ultimately died in the process(And Kyle only ended up as rough as he was because he tried to climb the fence after getting it and ruptured it). 2. Cartman didn't help, but it was the bullying of the girls and the extremism enabled by the other freaks and uglies that ultimately pushed him to that point. And the girls attempted to kill him later regardless. 3. Cartman went full feeder on Heidi and then tried to turn her into him personality wise, he ended up doing too good a job and losing control of her. Kyle was right about the problem, he just handled it wrong. And the nuke thing specifically was something Garrison already was going to do.
I mean werent they global warming deniers at the time of the Rainforest episode? It wouldnt be surprising if, at the time, they atleast couldnt care less if it was cut down completely. Theyre not infallable.
Small note: the show makes it a point during a special that Cartman IS actually redeemable. He actually has it in him to improve as a person. The universe simply forces balance to be established if that happens, ruining the lives of everyone else. The redemption and happiness of Cartman comes to the cost.of every other character 😅
Honestly, I'd go with the Cabin in the Woods conclusion here. If a world can only be saved by sacrificing the benign in the worst ways, then it's not worth saving.

They remove tonsils still. As a pathology resident, the past three years I've grossed (aka dissected and chosen which sections should be turned into slides) plenty of tonsils in both the adult and pediatric population. It's less common than it was like.... 30 years ago or more, but they started decreasing the amount of tonsillectomies they did in the past couple decades.
And yes, if someone is completely compliant with their medications and has an "undetectable" viral load, it is extremely unlikely for a partner to get HIV, but they still could get it. If the seronegative partner is on Prep, then their odds are even lower, closer to zero. Unfortunately, either method of preventing transmission is not perfect, and the studies have generally only been done in gay male populations. So no one should rely on either method or both plus a condom to completely eliminate the risk. It's unlikely, very very very unlikely. But still not zero.
i had my tonsils removed when i was 19 due to repeated strep throat. it was so bad it was impacting my ability to breathe - after the surgery I had no tonsils left, and barely a uvula (because the infection spread to it and grew an abcess the size of a dime) - and i was able to talk right after waking up from surgery, as well as the whole recovery week. heavy pain meds def. helped.
It might have already been said, “Having your cake and eating it too,” is about wanting two opposing things at the same time. You can’t have the pretty cake to look at and preserve in all its aesthetic splendor but ALSO want to eat it because you won’t have the cake anymore, and if you don’t eat it, you not be able to enjoy it in the way desserts are meant to be enjoyed ultimately. It’s either you do one thing or the other with the cake, you can’t do both.

I think he breifly clowned someone for saying it the old way instead just saying it like everyone else but lowkey saying it the "old" way made the phrase make soo much more sense to me. If you eat it you cant have it, if you have it you must not have eaten it. It can't really be both, like if youre eating it you no longer "have" it to look forward to which is nice in itself. I think its one of those things where the meaning is so obvious that it alludes you if you think too much about it
I love explaining this. So once you've eaten your cake, you no longer have the nice decorative uncut cake looking pretty there on the table. You can't eat it unless you cut into it, which destroys the pretty decoration that was the cake. Personally, cakes were made to be eaten I'm fine with no longer having it lol

How about with Scott Tennorman? Cartman maybe went a little too far, but Scott tennorman was a con man, ever been stung by a con man? It isn't nice.
That one gets even darker when you find out that Scott Tenorman and Cartman are half brothers. Yes, Cartman fed his dad to his brother… 😳
@@Fmanzo10 Strange the way things worked out. Scott forgave Cartman in Season 9, then the next time we see him is in season 14 and he was more vengeful than ever.
37:18 you were so real for that Kat
I think “Have your cake and eat it too” makes sense only in one circumstance. If what you should do is obvious. Wanting to do something stupid like keeping the cake until it goes stale and wanting to do the logical thing (Eating the cake).
Edit:Also you can deadname one thing other that Twitter, Kanye West. He ain’t Ye.
This
I dont understand the whole playing god argument people always say. If keeping someone on life support is playing god, isnt any other life saving method? Like a pacemaker or a major surgery, or anything that keeps you alive when you would have died if they didnt do it
The movie you were talking about with Keanu reeves was the day the earth stood still
17:43 Ig Cartman letting Kenny die twice and the NASCAR stuff was revenge?
9:56 my mom used to be a big fan of The Dawg and we were both quite sad when Beth passed away.
you remind me of saberspark, maybe it's because the closet furry thing
She's NOT A FURRY! She is kitty monk !(Jk).
Saberspark is very out of the furry closet
@@Leacholotemj , Plague of Gripes is still in the closest about his furry hobbies.
@@Leacholotemjyeah he made peace with that a while ago and even has a sabercat avatar he occasionally uses
Originally that phrase is 'eating your cake but still having it'. That version does make sense.
my headcanon is that Mickey Mouse is the SP universe answer to Loki
The cat thing is the most redeemable thing he has done.
Inheritance tax is one of the biggest goverment bullshits i ever heard.
Tax people that got billions from casinos, but not taxing corrupt CEOS is another government bullshit mandated law too hence the true reason on why the United States is trillions of dollars in debt.
Thankfully only 6 states in the U.S. have an inheritance tax
So apparently the saying is meant to be “you want to eat your cake and have it too.” Like you can’t eat a cake and still have the cake.
Yeah, and why have the cake if you're not going to eat it?
I think it’s a reference to Queen Elizabeth. Let them eat cake and all that.
i had my tonsils removed when i was 19 due to repeated strep throat. it was so bad it was impacting my ability to breathe - after the surgery I had no tonsils left, and barely a uvula (because the infection spread to it and grew an abcess the size of a dime) - and i was able to talk right after waking up from surgery, as well as the whole recovery week. heavy pain meds def.
You had the opportunity to use the futurama line “The BEST lind of correct” after mentioning the semantics and how cartman’s been technically correct
I actually went to Costa Rica! I love the rainforest!! The episode is still funny, though.
Ghostbusters 2016 had nothing to do with women not being funny, but people not being funny: behind the camera, in front of the camera and on the internet.
Most of those women are pretty unfunny in general though
Thanks Net
"Have your cake and eat it to" I meant to mean literally eating a cake and still having the cake after eating it, which is obviously impossible.
This just isn't conveyed well by the saying so it just sounds dumb
Oh my gawh. Your voice is a whole episode
Cupid Me!
also the timing of this upload is perfect since another new South Park Paramount+ special, episode or whatever has just came out on Paramount+ earlier
47:45 Kitty Monk told me to cheat. For shame! And you're trying to get back into teaching.
Technically correct, which is the best kind of correct
Okay so just putting this out there, in the episode "fishsticks" In the scene where Jimmy and Eric are walking down the hallway, and Eric gaslights Jimmy into thinking the joke was his, Take a look at the bulletin board behind Eric. IIRC this appears in a later episode where Eric and Mackey are in the hallway.
8:05 know what’s better than carrying mace? A gun. Protect yourself, get a gun.
Doesn't matter, even in context. Just say you're a pro mass violence 2a gun nut psycho and move on.
Aren't you the guy who goes on "leftists channels" and makes rage bait comments? Get a life, a job, hobby, take a shower and go to therapy.
I agree for most people, but some, like myself cant have a off button available to them.
There are days where i definitely wouldve used that butron, so i cant trust myself with it unfortunately. So hot sauce it is.
You're so irresponsible, get two guns. What if you have a friend with you? What if you leave one at home? Dam it, you didn't even include the all mighty shower gun. So that's three.
@@Hippo_Hegemony Well, i was just speaking in generalities, but if ya want to get spacific! You forgot the toilet tank pistol, kitchen, behind the TV, garage, couch cushion, night stand, closet, and the vents.
@trevorphillips1201 thank you sir, I do want specifics.
Cartman was the owner of the amusement park, couldn't he have just cut to the front of the line if he wanted?
All I know is that the Cartmanland episode gave me an idea for an amusement park, and nobody can come.
I always forget they did an Anne Frank reference in the same episode with the Heavy Metal parody.
IM AM THE DOHG THE BIG BAD DOHG! 9:33 earned a sub right there lol
Cupid me! I only read the description in hopes of figuring out where the "feed the fish" line is from, but I appreciate the hotlines at the bottom.
Image Cartman taking a dump next to Kyle in the hottub and he never be the wiser
24:23 Yeah, I never got the phrase "Have your cake and eat it too." either. That's what you're SUPPOSED to DO with cake! Like, the ONLY thing its made for!
The Crack Baby Basketball episode has me thankful that we got the good ending. By which I mean the real life counterpart (The NCAA) has to pay players who are risking debilitating injuries for either an education or to go pro. All the while College sport video games (with real colleges) are finally coming back.
The original phrase is "you can't have your Kate and Edith too"
I think Cartman became a feminist because of a scrapped Hillary Clinton plot line. The creators of South Park believed there was no chance Trump would win the 2016 election. That really screwed up the planned plot they had for the season. But that’s just me guessing. 🤷🏻
The student-athletes get paid now which isn't a small stipend. Its huge deals.
Petition to change the idiom to: you cannot both eat the cake and keep the cake
Cartman's got to be the best South Park character.
You forgot about him being right about the bag of gold around Kyle's neck. 😉
24:17 The phrase "you can't have your cake and eat it too" use to confuse me as well for YEARS then i watched a video, I think from wendigoon, that mentioned the phrse used to be "You cant eat your cake and have it too" In a throw away remark. I think its one of those things where the meaning is so obvious that it alludes you if you think too much about it
This side of the world has rain forests?…Probably not anymore now.
Every time Cartman says bra, I chuckle.
