Something awesome about this: Tony Tiger kills Kenny, but he still chooses to do science for the good of humanity, knowing full well the powers that be could kill him...over and over. Cartman is lazy at work, Butters ends up running the show in food service, and Kenny removes his parka and wears sunglasses, just like his future self. In End of Obesity, Cartman scoffs down cereal bombs and takes no accountability as his friends risk their lives to produce weight loss drugs for him. Seems in line with Butters saying there's nothing they could've done to help Cartman get off the path he was on.
I think Matt and Tray could focus on Kenny in the field of science. When has Kenny EVER shown a knack for science? Just give him an episode or 2 about him working well with it and have Kenny start becoming a real Rick Sanchez and make crazy experiments

Actually, Matt and Trey didn't really bring Kenny back for the fans or the network, They brought him back because they genuinely started to miss having his character around over time which is why later in that season, they were building up to his eventual return by having that subplot of him being inside Cartman's body for a few episodes. in a 2005 Interview Matt did with South Park Studios, he said that even though Kenny can be a prop at times, he is still an important part of the show.
In a 2002 interview; which was around the time they "perma-kill" Kenny, Matt talked about the possibility of bringing him back in the future. (Who would have thought they make the decision so quickly. And that's considering how many characters the show has killed off and never looked back.)

At least characters thrown into the background have a small chance of gaining focus. (Though sometimes that has led to a death.)
Not to mention his brother Kevin and sister Karen. With Kevin I think it's more understandable, since he is rather distant towards his siblings and perhaps people in general, but Karen? Also, Karen didn't exist until the ninth season in "Best Friends Forever" and even then she was only in one scene and only staying there. It doesn't even make sense, since Ike was from the beginning of the show and he is younger than Karen. For example, in The Return of Chef when he suggests that him and the other boys go to the Super Adventure Club headquarters, or in Grounded Vindaloop where he tells Stan and Kyle that Cartman is in a coma wearing an Oculus headset. “BUT KeNny I caN’T PlAY A bIgger roLE BEcaUse HIS mUFfLed SPeECH PrEVentS hiM frOM pLayInG A BiGger part IN tHe COmeDIC tHeMeS oF SOUTh park” Every time I get this comment, I feel like Sharon Marsh in the episode Dead Kids. Furthermore, Mr. Bean is another character with limited dialogue (at least comprehensive dialogue), and yet he thrives in a comedic setting. It would also be nice to give him subtitles, like Amazon and HBO Max does. This would give him a lot more personality and allow for more writing opportunity. Kenny was my favorite character, despite being a side foil. He did get some hilarious moments, and great episodes that focused on him. Although he seemed one dimensional at first, they did expand on him where he was Mysterion and when he also had other elements to him where they made him cool without being too perfect. I love how he is honest and straightforward, and even though he mostly can’t be understood, when we learn (or rarely hear) what he said then he was really well spoken. Although the show can progress without Kenny, it isn’t as good without him. “Can you really live in a world without -CocaCola- Kenny?”
Something else worth noting is that even the other boys have taken a backseat in many episodes these past few years. The latest season was a big improvement, but for several seasons, South Park was the Randy Weed Farm show. It completely took other everything, with a bunch of half stories and abandoned ideas so it could tell the same "he said season finale, but that's actually the name of the weed strain!" joke over and over. They even changed the title sequence for a while, Randy's probably more of a main character than Stan and Kyle these days.
I would say it’s because of the death gag that did got really old but over time the less and less it happened the less Kenny was used he’s last good appearance was he hang out at a beach with butters
As someone who's also noticed Kenny's decreased roles in recent years, in addition to the reasons you gave, there's also no he fact that Trey and Matt are a lot more busier than before, meaning that they release fewer episodes,.and why it feels like Jenny got the short end of the stick (especially given how Season 26 had only six episodes plus 3 movies, and we still have no word of Season 27). Still, it makes us appreciate Kenny's noticeable moments more, and assures us that they haven't forgotten him, so he'll remain an important part of the show. Also, glad you mentioned Kevin as well. I love the moments between Kenny and Karen, but Kevin hasn't had a major role ever since he debuted in the first season. Poor guy is owed overtime.
I think it's because Matt and Trey don't really know what to do with him outside of killing him off. At least outside of him being Mysterion and him being protective of Karen.
Crap, I missed it. Kenny is basically a comic foil character. He was loosely based on a poor friend of…Trey’s, I think, who was very poor and his parents forced him to bundle up a lot to avoid getting sick. He was the butt of the show’s dark humor element, later the sassy B character, then later he was sort of sidelined when the Kenny death jokes had sunset. I’m glad when he gets his moments, and I like that he is the extra addition to the show that makes it enjoyable. The show is better with him.

I've always wondered about why Kyle has been gaslit as a whiner in the recent seasons. He used to be the voice of reason and now people silence him every time he tries to be that again. He tried to warn them about President Garrison and he turned out to be right. Instead of pointing that out he was still made to stay quiet about it. That could be a future topic.
When the scooters became a big thing I worked for IU Campus as a landscaper. I was ordered to drive around in a flatbed truck and collect them for weeks. We put them in a locked shipping container and "Bird" had to buy the back from us. We destroyed/fucked up about ever single one we picked up.
I think a good way they could give Kenny a bit more focus would be to actually have his home life improve. E.g. maybe his mum and dad or even just one of them goes to rehab and as such their financial situation improves. There's a few ways they could handle this, if both go sober then Kenny and his siblings stay in their current home only its tidier. Or if only one of them goes clean maybe they decide to split up with the other and get a new place with a shared custody thing. We already know Matt and Trey are not above making permanent changes to the show and characters so why not let Kenny's home life improve. This could even play into his frienemyship with Cartman because it would put them on more even footing. Since Cartman is the second poorest kid in South Park, this could be Kenny's best revenge for all the times Cartman called him poor because then he'd be his equal. Or heck maybe revist the idea of Kenny going into a foster home but have it be a permanent thing unless his parents get their shiz together. They could even have it where his siblings are sent to seperate foster homes outside of South Park, since they barely get any screentime anyway it could be a way to actually make them useful. They could have an episode dedicated to Kenny going to visit them and the boys tag along with him...or they could refuse and then that gives Kenny more time onscreen. He's hard to write for, but there is allot they could do with him and his family dynamic. And we know Matt and Trey can do more grounded stories when they want to.

The thing is they never cared that much for Kenny: he was a plot device, not a character. They gave him development but they did nothing with it for years. So yeah. Fun fact : when Kenny muffles, 99% of the time, Stan is the translator. I like to think it’s because they hang out a lot when Kyle and Cartman are too busy being the A plot.

I think it's because he was mostly a Gag character who died every Episode and they didn't build Up a personality of his own outside of being poor and a perv. In later seasons he dies way less than he did in season 1-5 and was given a more complex characterization. I do believe it's weird kenny doesn't get as much Screentime as he did in the other seasons. Cartman is the Heart of south park, while kenny IS the SOUL of the show.
If you want a Kyle idea, look at how his parents influence him as he grows up (how he follows). Grows a tone like SHunt 42, but fights for things he "thinks" needs to be with MAC
Idk, it doesn't like it'd be that hard to give him + family some stuff once in awhile. Little drops of the cult even less often would be so cool too. I love how he loves his sister. Him with a gf is pretty funny and cute. Clever deaths are fun as well. Tbh, I like having the same guys from the start. Sometimes being pushed even makes you come up with cool stuff.
Honestly I always forget that some characters have been used less than they used to because then there are other characters who were hardly ever used that are like main characters. For example Randy was in the early episodes Yes but it wasn't really that present but then he like basically became a main character somebody even say the main character ever since like season 9 or something
He really besides dying brings nothing to the table in an episode. It's sad really. I like Kenny, but that's what I think is why he's not shown as much. Kenny's meaning in the show seems has ran its course.

South Parks longest and strongest opinion was it's stance against most forms of censorship. Kenny being the most vulgar and most moral makes sense if trey and Matt made him a voice of reason that specifies pushing boundaries against censorship for the better. Basically give him cartmans ability to act but with kyles moral compass, hell just take his mask off since the status-quo has been rocked in the show multiple times at this point.
The thing is that taking off his hoodie will not make him feel like Kenny anymore since the hoodie is the most iconic part of his character behind his deaths, they just need to give him more subtitles and make his hoodie less muffled so it would be a bit more understandable for everybody in the audience

There's a few other episodes in Seasons 1-5 where Kenny doesn't die, as well as Mr. Hankey and Rainforest Schmainforest: - Do The Handicapped Go To Hell + Probably: We think Kenny dies when he's hit by a bus in Pt.1. But Pt.2 reveals that he survived underneath the bus and ends up in Mexico. - Fat Camp: Kenny gets sent to prison, so Stan and Kyle have the fake Cartman do a stunt in his place. The fake Cartman suffers the worst death ever! - Terrance and Philip: Behind The Blow: Kenny has all his limbs hacked off. But at the very last second, Cartman says "Everything worked out!" to Kenny, and he's miraculously still alive. He probably dies off-screen though. - Flashbacks: Kenny dies twice. But it turns out to be all a dream! Kenny technically doesn't die. - Starvin' Marvin In Space (debatable): Kenny is frozen in carbonite, like Han Solo. Han survives it in Star Wars, so Kenny could well survive it. Plus, Sally Struthers ends up saving the boys because of Cartman's 'Talk no Jutsu'. This is entirely headcanon, but Sally Struthers could've released Kenny from the carbonite when she gives the boys a ride home. It's like the rare occasion when bands like KoRn, Limp Bizkit and Hollywood Undead do a song without an F-bomb! Super rare, but all the more special for it!

I would also like if we got to see his family do more, like his brother Kevin, who hasn’t had an episode where he speaks since The Poor Kid in 2011. In my view, they should make more episodes that focus on Kenny’s siblings and parents, even if Kenny himself doesn’t play a prominent role, if any role. They could also do the same for the other families, giving characters like Shelly more screen time.
He is. Its up to matt n trey to tap that. I feel like because of these "real" plotlines, the series has lost its charm. I love kenny but there's multiple opportunities they just don't take with him in favor of someone else.

That wasn't his doppelganger that was his brother Kevin which is why he doesn't show up anymore, in the episode fat camp Kevin comes back to South Park as a skinny version of Cartman, but no one knew he was sneaking and getting sweets taking them back to Cartman for him to sell candy at the fat camp, he was supposed to be in rehab which happened to be a couple of miles down from the fat camp that Cartman got sent to, Stan and Kyle eventually find out he's not Cartman since he was an acting like Cartman, then threatened him to do the stunt Kenny was supposed to do inside of Mrs crabtree's uterus but Kevin dies along with another kid who was up there, Kenny went to jail because he went on the Howard Stern show an agreed to give him a BJ for two bucks Howard Stern was trying to prove him and Johnny Knoxville and whoever the third guy was weren't actual whores, but that plan clearly fails because they were literally do anything for money

Kenny was my favorite character, despite being a side foil. He did get some hilarious moments, and great episodes that focused on him. Although he seemed one dimensional at first, they did expand on him where he was Mysterion and when he also had other elements to him where they made him cool without being too perfect. I love how he is honest and straightforward, and even though he mostly can’t be understood, when we learn (or rarely hear) what he said then he was really well spoken. Although the show can progress without Kenny, it isn’t as good without him. “Can you really live in a world without -CocaCola- Kenny?”

Something else worth noting is that even the other boys have taken a backseat in many episodes these past few years. The latest season was a big improvement, but for several seasons, South Park was the Randy Weed Farm show. It completely took other everything, with a bunch of half stories and abandoned ideas so it could tell the same "he said season finale, but that's actually the name of the weed strain!" joke over and over.
They even changed the title sequence for a while, Randy's probably more of a main character than Stan and Kyle these days.
I actually find the Randy episodes entertaining, but I agree that Randy was used too much.

As someone who's also noticed Kenny's decreased roles in recent years, in addition to the reasons you gave, there's also no he fact that Trey and Matt are a lot more busier than before, meaning that they release fewer episodes,.and why it feels like Jenny got the short end of the stick (especially given how Season 26 had only six episodes plus 3 movies, and we still have no word of Season 27). Still, it makes us appreciate Kenny's noticeable moments more, and assures us that they haven't forgotten him, so he'll remain an important part of the show.
Also, glad you mentioned Kevin as well. I love the moments between Kenny and Karen, but Kevin hasn't had a major role ever since he debuted in the first season. Poor guy is owed overtime.
I think it's because Matt and Trey don't really know what to do with him outside of killing him off. At least outside of him being Mysterion and him being protective of Karen.
Crap, I missed it. Kenny is basically a comic foil character. He was loosely based on a poor friend of…Trey’s, I think, who was very poor and his parents forced him to bundle up a lot to avoid getting sick. He was the butt of the show’s dark humor element, later the sassy B character, then later he was sort of sidelined when the Kenny death jokes had sunset. I’m glad when he gets his moments, and I like that he is the extra addition to the show that makes it enjoyable. The show is better with him.

I've always wondered about why Kyle has been gaslit as a whiner in the recent seasons. He used to be the voice of reason and now people silence him every time he tries to be that again. He tried to warn them about President Garrison and he turned out to be right. Instead of pointing that out he was still made to stay quiet about it. That could be a future topic.

When the scooters became a big thing I worked for IU Campus as a landscaper. I was ordered to drive around in a flatbed truck and collect them for weeks. We put them in a locked shipping container and "Bird" had to buy the back from us. We destroyed/fucked up about ever single one we picked up.
I think a good way they could give Kenny a bit more focus would be to actually have his home life improve. E.g. maybe his mum and dad or even just one of them goes to rehab and as such their financial situation improves. There's a few ways they could handle this, if both go sober then Kenny and his siblings stay in their current home only its tidier. Or if only one of them goes clean maybe they decide to split up with the other and get a new place with a shared custody thing. We already know Matt and Trey are not above making permanent changes to the show and characters so why not let Kenny's home life improve. This could even play into his frienemyship with Cartman because it would put them on more even footing. Since Cartman is the second poorest kid in South Park, this could be Kenny's best revenge for all the times Cartman called him poor because then he'd be his equal.
Or heck maybe revist the idea of Kenny going into a foster home but have it be a permanent thing unless his parents get their shiz together. They could even have it where his siblings are sent to seperate foster homes outside of South Park, since they barely get any screentime anyway it could be a way to actually make them useful. They could have an episode dedicated to Kenny going to visit them and the boys tag along with him...or they could refuse and then that gives Kenny more time onscreen.
He's hard to write for, but there is allot they could do with him and his family dynamic. And we know Matt and Trey can do more grounded stories when they want to.

I think it's because he was mostly a Gag character who died every Episode and they didn't build Up a personality of his own outside of being poor and a perv. In later seasons he dies way less than he did in season 1-5 and was given a more complex characterization. I do believe it's weird kenny doesn't get as much Screentime as he did in the other seasons. Cartman is the Heart of south park, while kenny IS the SOUL of the show.
If you want a Kyle idea, look at how his parents influence him as he grows up (how he follows). Grows a tone like SHunt 42, but fights for things he "thinks" needs to be with MAC

Idk, it doesn't like it'd be that hard to give him + family some stuff once in awhile. Little drops of the cult even less often would be so cool too. I love how he loves his sister. Honestly I always forget that some characters have been used less than they used to because then there are other characters who were hardly ever used that are like main characters. For example Randy was in the early episodes Yes but it wasn't really that present but then he like basically became a main character somebody even say the main character ever since like season 9 or something

South Parks longest and strongest opinion was it's stance against most forms of censorship. Kenny being the most vulgar and most moral makes sense if trey and Matt made him a voice of reason that specifies pushing boundaries against censorship for the better. Basically give him cartmans ability to act but with kyles moral compass, hell just take his mask off since the status-quo has been rocked in the show multiple times at this point.
The thing is that taking off his hoodie will not make him feel like Kenny anymore since the hoodie is the most iconic part of his character behind his deaths, they just need to give him more subtitles and make his hoodie less muffled so it would be a bit more understandable for everybody in the audience

There's a few other episodes in Seasons 1-5 where Kenny doesn't die, as well as Mr. Hankey and Rainforest Schmainforest:
- Do The Handicapped Go To Hell + Probably: We think Kenny dies when he's hit by a bus in Pt.1. But Pt.2 reveals that he survived underneath the bus and ends up in Mexico.
- Fat Camp: Kenny gets sent to prison, so Stan and Kyle have the fake Cartman do a stunt in his place. The fake Cartman suffers the worst death ever!
- Terrance and Philip: Behind The Blow: Kenny has all his limbs hacked off. But at the very last second, Cartman says "Everything worked out!" to Kenny, and he's miraculously still alive. He probably dies off-screen though.
- Flashbacks: Kenny dies twice. But it turns out to be all a dream! Kenny technically doesn't die.
- Starvin' Marvin In Space (debatable): Kenny is frozen in carbonite, like Han Solo. Han survives it in Star Wars, so Kenny could well survive it. Plus, Sally Struthers ends up saving the boys because of Cartman's 'Talk no Jutsu'. This is entirely headcanon, but Sally Struthers could've released Kenny from the carbonite when she gives the boys a ride home.
It's like the rare occasion when bands like KoRn, Limp Bizkit and Hollywood Undead do a song without an F-bomb! Super rare, but all the more special for it!
